Tyson Savage is even wilder as a man than he is as a wolf!
This paranormal shifter romance has biting, knotting, and a protective and possessive wolf shifter who catches the scent of his fated mate and decides nothing is going to stop him from making her his.
Ivy’s weekend misadventure in the sticks goes from bad to worse when she hits an animal with her car and winds up in a ditch. One minute, she’s faced with a giant black wolf and the next, he’s transformed into a naked man before her eyes. And he insists – she's coming home with him.
Tyson hasn't been in man form for years, for very specific reasons. Instead, he’s chosen to stay a wolf, deep in the forest. He didn't grow up with his pack and he doesn't have a solid understanding of human or shifter nature. All he knows is Ivy is meant to be his.
A sexy shifter romance.
This is a DD Prince book, which means you get a BIG book (nearly 500 pages) with lots of kindle-melting sexy times, some laugh-out-loud moments, some angst, and a whole lot of feels.
This isn’t one of DD’s typical dark romances, there’s mostly light here, but it does have some darker subject matter. If you’re not a dark romance lover or are sensitive to triggers, this might not be your thing.

YIKES... What did I just read? 🤮 This was NOT what I meant, when I said I liked dark romance... 🙃 Can we please stop romanticizing rape or allowing heroes to get away with it simply because they're 'hot'. These kinds of stories just feed into rape culture!! 🤬
I need to bleach my brain and dunk myself in holy water. And maybe escape to the mountains for a while...
Oh my, this author can sure do shifter romance this was such a mega-hit with a capital H for me. I’m fanning myself here with the heat levels with this one. So this was a new direction for this author but man did she brings the goods. Basic premise Ivy while escaping a weekend getaway that was totally not what she signed up for hits something in the road. This something is Tyson Savage and after sniffing her out and then hunting her down he has no intention of allowing her to escape him he’s keeping her for his own. Now mated claimed and knotted this gorgeous huge Alpha shifter has claimed Ivy as his wife and for some reason unbeknown to her she can’t seem to resist it’s like he has her under some sort of supernatural mojo bewitched even. Plus does she even want to escape him? Tyson was adorable he’s all instinct and dominance he doesn’t understand why Ivy is fighting him, it all seems very simple to him, She’s his mate they belong together end of. He’s uncomplicated and his focus is on Ivy, mating and food in that order. He’s all OTT possessive and obsessive shifter Alpha male. he’s been on his own for so long a lone-wolf and being on two legs again feels strange he’s obviously more comfortable in his wolf form and this also brings an animalistic aspect to his whole possession of Ivy at times he is almost feral in his actions towards her. I could definitely understand the why's of his behaviour even If I didn’t always condone it. With his limited experience of the world and his years spent in wolf form it’s not actually surprising he struggles with the social niceties and acceptable behaviour. There’s also more to his past going on here than is on the surface a past of secrets and lies that are now closing in fast also confusing his senses. Ivy, well even when she was pushed to the extreme by Tyson she can't help herself where he is concerned. Her whole world has been turned upside-down, inside-out and on its head, if you get my drift.
So I adored these two together there chemistry was phenomenal and set the pages alight with its brilliance, there dynamic together was incredible and made me tingle all over.
Tyson is learning as he goes along and relying on instinct means he doesn’t always get things right. Ivy is struggling with what she should do against what she actually is doing. Her common-sense clashing when faced with Tyson’s natural magnetism and allure. This one isn’t instalove yes there lots of instalust but the feelings at least on Ivy’s part take a little building and she definitely struggles with the whole intensity of them. Tyson’s feral behaviour at times managing to work against him. He’s gaga over his Ivy right from the get-go and sometimes reacts without thinking or with due care. This one also has some loose ties to sleepy hollow but there's no need to have read that series to get this. This really was fantastic drawing me in almost instantly, the characters and situations were intense and the emotions between Tyson and Ivy felt authentic and real. I also loved how this all fit together and the potential for future story growth is huge. I’m so excited about this new series and can’t wait to read more set in this world. Totally recommend this 200% it was fantastic and I couldn’t put it down. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Wild.
Now that she’s mine, she will always smell like she’s just been fucked.
-ˏˋ Initial Thoughts & Feelingsˎˊ-
WOW, what a book! First things first, before I even talk about the book I need to give new to me author D.D. Prince a truly moving round of applause -
This book, Wild, truly knocked the metaphorical socks off of my feet! I went in expecting a by the numbers smutty werewolf romance, and what I got was, welllllllll, it was still a smutty shifter romance but it had HEART. That's right, I got swept up in this smutty little story and by the end I was throughly invested!
🐺✨ I N V E S T ED people! 🐺✨
WILD is a book that at first glance seems to be following the typical "shifter-romance" formula, please hold for a fun example -
✦ Hunky Sexy Werewolf: *sees exceptionally gorgeous human heroine* MATE! MINE! MATE! MINE! MATE! MINE! MATE MINE! ✧ Everygirl Heroine : *causally hanging out with friend we will never see again* I am so single cobwebs have literally started growing in my vagina. ✦ Hunky Sexy Werewolf: *most likely kidnaps heroine or forces her into relationship* MATE, SEX, MATE! ✧ Everygirl Heroine: *pouts in the corner for .5 secs* OHHHHhhHHHHhhhh you have a nice penis. I guess I'm cool with you now, oh and I love you. ✦ Hunky Sexy Werewolf: HOW DARE YOU EVEN GLANCE AT ANOTHER MAN! mate. mate. sex. sex. mate. mate. *radiates an insanely uncomfortable possessive energy* ✧ Everygirl Heroine: *overlooks NUMEROUS red flags* This is gonna work out great! I will overlook your flaws and especially overlook the way you bulldozed over my autonomy and life! I love you, Mate!
. . .SO. . .yeah. . .you guys get the idea. These books typically go hard on the smut and light on everything else. And look I'm not knocking that 👏 ✨ 😉 i see you guys, and i celebrate you 👏 ✨ 😉 however, sometimes all's I want is a werewolf romance that has an epic romance! Or, at least a romance that doesn't act out the above scenario. Now this begs the question, did WILD meet these truly lofty expectations *sarcasm heavily implied*❓
Basically, WILD was super smutty and indulged in many of the staples of the genre, but at the same time it was also very clear that author D.D. PRINCE was trying to put her own spin on things. There's a sort of self awareness that the characters posess that I greatly appreciated, and on top of that the heroine doesn't just let the hero get away with all of his RED FLAG behaviors. She calls him on his shit, and isn't afraid to set clear boundaries or make him grovel. That's like, UNHEARD OF, in shifter-romances! I'd say that WILD grabs you with the smut and then gets you invested in the romance.
-ˏˋ A Quick Summaryˎˊ-
WILD begins as every great romance does, with a kidnapping! When Ivy finds herself driving down a windy secluded road she accidentally crashes into Tyson Savage. The minute Tyson sees Ivy he knows that she's his destined mate. However, with Ivy being a normal human woman and Tyson being more wolf than man, will this relationship actually work? Welp, what ensues is a whole lot of smutty werewolf sex, abduction - SO MUCH ABDUCTION - and a surprisingly sweet romance that sneaks up out of nowhere.
-ˏˋ The HIGHLIGHTS!ˎˊ-
✦ Our (h) Ivy ✦
You guys, I appreciated Ivy. More often then not my biggest complaint about shifter-romances is that the heroines just let things happen to them. The big bad broody alpha will bulldoze all over their lives and they'll just let him. Now there comes a point when I do want the heroine to fall in love, etc. etc. etc. BUT I also want the heroines to pushback against having their autonomy taken away. Our girl Ivy mostly does that! When she gets kidnapped she's understandably upset and I love that she acts accordingly.
“Kill you? Never,” he grunts. “Why would I kill my mate?” “Oh for fuck’s sake,” I groan without first measuring my words. It’s a day for F-words. Clearly, he’s nuts. He’s a crazy werewolf. Or I’m having a crazy fever dream.
While Ivy does enjoy some sexy times with Tyson I loved that she didn't just check out from reality and completely accept her situation. She tries to escape multiple times, and even after she begins to really fall for Ty she still aims to go back to her old life. Ivy reacts how I think most normal people would react. She's hype about Tyson's vibrating dick, but she also has her priorities in order. Not only that, but I liked how she was slowly and steadily charmed by Tyson, and I enjoyed seeing her slowly fall in love with him. She had a backbone when it counted, stood up for herself repeatedly, but she was also forgiving and understanding. Overall, I really liked Ivy as a heroine!
✦ The "Lore" of The Werewolves ✦
Another thing WILD did right was the werewolves. I thought D.D. PRINCE did a fabulous job establishing the way HER werewolves worked. I thought it was really cool that instead of one head Alpha there were multiple alphas, AND I liked that the women in the pack were clearly respected and could hold their own. PLUS, I loved that D.D. PRINCE made sure to note that her world also includes vampires, fae, and other supernatural creatures. That leaves room for more characters to be introduced and explored. I liked that the werewolf aspect of the whole shifter-romance actually played a roll in the story. I can never understand why books have their characters be werewolves and then never mention it again. I purchased because I saw wolf somewhere in the summary/title, so you best deliver!
✦ Werewolves Need Love Too ✦ OKAY so, I'm gonna be honest here you guys, I ended up so much more invested in the romance then I thought I was going to be. It starts out with Tyson abducting our girl Ivy. . .yeah it's kind of a fun theme of the book. Anyway, so Ivy gets kidnapped and they just immediately start boinking, because how can that atmosphere not inspire vigorous love making?! So imagine my surprise when the romance actually turned sweet, and I began to actively root for them to make things work?!?! I think what made the romance really work for me and respect Ivy's decision is that Ivy doesn't take Tyson's shit. She pushes back against things that she doesn't like, puts up clear boundaries, but she also comes to understand Tyson and his situation. Tyson for his part was actually really loving. From the minute he meets Ivy he's saying things like this -
“I’ve never felt this way about anybody before, Ivy. My only. It’s because you’re the only one for me. We’re meant to be together.”
Like Jesus my heart. However, what I appreciated about Tyson and the romance was that those grand words and declarations of matehood are actually BACKED UP. Tyson looks at this woman like she's cured world hunger and treats her accordingly (except for that one time). Likewise, Ivy comes to really care for Tyson beyond him just being a great lay. I think what really stood out to me was that this HEA was actually very hard won. Ivy and Tyson had to learn to communicate properly with one another, Ivy had to decide if she wanted to take the chance on Tyson, and Tyson had to put his burning want aside to determine whether or not Ivy was truly happy.
✦ The Way Ivy Handled THE INCIDENT ✦ Okay so when I say "incident" I mean - Now this incident was really horrible and afterwards I was done with Tyson's ass. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? SO WAS IVY.
“Please forgive me.” “Never,” she vows softly and with what feels like blades dripping from her words. Jagged steel coated in blood she wishes was mine.
I loved that Ivy was fucking done. She didn't give a shit about the "mate bond", she didn't give a shit that he wholeheartedly and truly regretted it, and she didn't give a shit about the wolf instincts that triggered it. SHE WAS DONE. I loved that the other women in the pack were like, "I know WHY you did this Tyson butttttttt IVY GIRL, YOU DO YOU". After this incident the whole rest of the book was one giant ass grovel fest and I fucking loved it. Ivy doesn't forgive him the first time he asks for it, and she doesn't forgive him the last time he asks. It is only after he really proves that he's willing to give up EVERYTHING without asking for anything in return that she truly decides that she can trust him again.
✦ Tyson. . .for the most part ✦
Despite half the shit Tyson pulled I actually liked him as the hero. While I didn't love him as much as Ivy, I still felt for him and his story. Baby boy went through it. From being kidnapped as a child and forced to live with his crazy Uncle, to being forced to murder and steal things, and ultimately losing touch with his human side. Now, I think my biggest issue with Tyson - aside from fuckery he pulled at the party - was that he very much embodied the "Me Tarzan, you Jane" attitude for most of the book.
“Ah. Punishment with orgasms so you’ll submit. Classic alpha shifter move.”
He is very much a slave to his baser instincts for the first half of the book, and he's like a bull in a china shop when it comes to emotional tact. However, this actually fit his character because he spent a good majority of his life as a wolf. So, when he meets Ivy he's very rusty on his communication skills, and that's putting it lightly. But, what this means is that over the course of WILD Tyson slowly becomes more socially adept, his thoughts/stream of conciseness becomes more clear, and the way he deals with Ivy shifts. He realizes that while HE FEELS that Ivy is his mate and the one for him, she may not feel the same. In my opinion his biggest full circle moment came when he decided to let walk away unsure of whether or not Ivy would stop him.
“Are you asking me to marry you?” “I already married you. I’m asking you to marry me back.” “Yes,” I say. “I will.” He smiles big and kisses me.
✦ The Inclusion of Family ✦ I've noticed this trope that happens in shifter-romances, and it bugs the ever-loving CRAP out of me. I hate when the heroine ends up meeting / getting abducted by her werewolf hunk, and then BOOM. Her family never hears from her again, they don't check up on her, or conveniently she has no friends / family / people that care about her. Not the case for WILD. In this book, get this, HER MOM CARES THAT SHE'S GONE MISSING.
No lie this was the thing that excited me most about this book. FINALLY, FINALLY, a realistic reaction from all parties about an abduction. I just - it was beautiful. I'm sure you guys don't care but it was a big moment for me, so let me have this.
-ˏˋ The Negativesˎˊ-
✦ Tyson ✦ I KNOW I KNOW! I both liked him and didn't like him (so he gets to be in the pro AND cons portion of this review). On the one hand I really felt great sympathy for him, his story, and what he went through. ON THE OTHER HAND, man it was like talking to a brick wall. He just did not seem to get why Ivy was upset about him abducting her. It got to the point where I was like, "YOU GOT ABDUCTED AND YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT EITHER". While it was cool to see him go from basically nonverbal - expect for when he was asking for sex - to fully socialable, the Tarzan hero typically isn't my favorite. If I were in Ivy's shoes I would've left the building ASAP.
✦ Some WORD CHOICES ✦ Look I don't like to knock at authors writing, because I know for a fact if I ever tried to write a romance the dialogue would come out looking like a cheap porno script. HOWEVER, that said, I couldn't with some of the lines uttered by our two characters, especially during sex. Let me just give you guys some examples!
This sentence is uttered -
“Tyson, wait. I’m sore.” “What’s sore?” I bristle. “My…” Her face goes pink. “My princess parts.
Or this -
This pussy is the boss. It wants all I want to give it and I’m going to keep giving it. This perfect creature is mine.
😂✨WHY IS HER VAGINA BEING TALKED ABOUT LIKE A PERSON✨😭
And finally, this thought is had by a living person -
I pull the handle and it fails to release the door, the door that prevents me from getting to her. Anger bubbles up and I want to use my cock to pierce a hole through it to get to her.
-ˏˋ Concluding Thoughtsˎˊ-
WILD was such a fun take on the typical shifter-romance. It delivered on the smut, it served the romance, and I ended up truly invested in the story as a whole!
Oh man... this book was scrumptious! I devoured it in a little more than a day!!! I wish I could lay down all day and read- who needs sleep?!! Lol. Tyson’s possessiveness, love, and nurturing is EVERY. THING🥰🥰🥰!!!
The books starts off with Ivy in a remote area with a friend of hers from work. It’s them two plus five males and her friend takes two of them into a room with her and proceeds to be intimate with them. Ivy’s left outside with the other guys and she feels incredibly uncomfortable, so she leaves her friend and drives off. The problem is, she’s not familiar with the area and is driving in an unfamiliar location. She suddenly hits something, a wolf, but then the wolf turns into a man. And this man wants her because she is his mate😈.
She’s scared and he’s possessive of her😉. He takes her to his little house and lets her know that she’s his mate, his one and only, and they are destined to be together❤️. She doesn’t understand any of this because she didn’t grow up in this world. Tyson has been in werewolf form for years now, and hasn’t shifted to be a man in a long time. He grew up with an uncle who censored him from a lot and lied to him so he’s unaware of a lot of things in the world. One of the biggest lies he was told was that his family was dead and they were out to hunt him, which is why he had to always mask his scent.
Tyson proceeds to mate with her, knotting🔥, which is something that only happens when werewolves find their true mates. He also finds out that he has a whole pack waiting for him to join them as one of their alphas, Tyson being the top one. Because he has been sheltered by all of this, especially affection and what it’s like to be with others like him, he doesn’t know how to react. All he knows is that he wants Ivy to himself and to be with him always.
🔥Talk about fast burn 😅. Yes, Ty’s conscientious and tries to take it slow with Ivy, but she’s his mate- so he’s gonna mate with her whether she wants to or not 🥵 and even though she might be resistant, he knows just how to convince her 🔥🔥 😅😅. Um… Ty… I’ll volunteer as tribute if she doesn’t want you lol (joking… she does… womp womp lol). Annnnnd… he gives her his mark… aka a neck clit 🥵😅. Plus, he purrs for her all the time- on top of always ensuring she’s feeling pleasure. Not only that, but he adores and worships her. Swooooooom!!! 🥰🥰🥰
There’s a lot that both of them need to process. Obviously, this book ends with an HEA. We got to know other characters and I NEED THEIR BOOKS!!! Gah! I’m so invested in this world! DD Prince did an amazing job building this world and I am anxiously waiting for her to continue the stories of other members of the pack.
Highly recommended!
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/sharing/owd -dubcon/noncon -H was a manwhore. He regrets not waiting to find his mate. h isn’t a virgin. -biting/marking/knotting/public claiming -spanking/alpha dominance -mild OM- one of the h’s ex makes an appearance. He’s inconsequential though 💁🏻♀️and the h didn’t ever have a connection to him -there are ow that look at the H in hunger. He doesn’t care for any of it because he only has eyes for his mate, the h -HEA/HFN/we continue to see their HEA in subsequent books
I was in the mood for a PNR book so I decided to give a new author to try as well! When I began this book I was a little sceptical on how it was going to go. I found there was a bit of repetition and also some borderline non-consensual werewolf sex taking place. For me, I can handle the non-consensual sex in my reads, as I read a ton of dark themed books. So I chose to continue and I am super glad that I did!
This is the start of a wonderful series that takes place in a world where there are werewolves, witches, and who knows what else will come along! I loved the introduction of the close-knit wolf pack, and I definitely want to see where the author is going to take this series and I want to see all of the pack mates get their HEA!
I am glad I gave DD Prince a shot, and I am eager for the next instalment when it comes out!
There are so many glowing reviews for this book and I don’t really see why. The characters are irksome and the length of this book wasn’t really needed. It started off so good! However, about 20% in things went downhill and I noticed that they started to get repetitive. Seriously, this is over 400 pages and it’s the same thing over and over. Let me give you a little example.
▪Tyson being mad about Ivy wanting to leave ▪Tyson punishing Ivy with sex ▪Ivy liking staying with Tyson but realizing that “real life” is a thing AND REPEAT
How I sat through all this back and forth is beyond me. Characterwise, I didn't really understand how we were supposed to like Tyson. Their first time together (after he snatched her from the woods and brought her home the same night) is her begging him not to have sex with her but he does it anyway. Just because her body was reacting to it, does not override her saying no. He does this so much through the book. He also does something worse than this later and we are just expected to look over it because of how he grew up. I couldn’t.
Ivy was so wishy washy and I really wanted her to make up her mind. One minute she was done with him and the next she was putty in his hands. Once or twice fine, however, her doing this the ENTIRE time was tiring and annoying.
I know that this is the start of a series, but I can definitely tell you that I won’t be continuing it.
This was a big fat no for me. A non-consensual sex fest (rape fest). And yeah, yeah, I get all the excuses (it's fantasy! he's a werewolf! he's an alpha! he's a super-duper-uber-extra alpha!), but all the excuses just feed into the rape culture. He owns her. He knows better than her, that they're meant to be, she really loves him so it's okay to ignore very clear No over and over again. He'll dick her into submission (seriously). And try to get her pregnant without her consent and everyone knows how enraged he'll become to find out she's taking birth control. And then he loses control because another male looks at her so he rapes her (and laughs while doing it) in front of the entire town, to the point she's bleeding and badly bruised between her legs, but she has sex with him (after he kidnaps her and everyone around him is not only okay with it but helps) just a couple days later? And he's only worried about how awful he feels. Yeah, he's pretty extra. And let's not get into the whole "princess parts" thing. Yee-ikes.
We deserve better than this. I get alpha fantasies. I even get rape fantasies. But to keep portraying actual rapists as heroes is beyond worrisome.
DNF - 56%, this book just feels like it’s not ending and nothing is keeping my interest, so DNF. If you like shifter with non-con and dub-con, and a hero that talks like Tarzan, then you’ll enjoy this.
aliight. where do i start? this book was wild just like its name suggested and damn i need me a sexy werewolf. . .
✦ was this book ott? yes ✦ did it have DRAMA with a capital everything? also yes ✦ but did it still leave me wanting more? yes. yes. yes.
i have read only one book by DD Prince in the past but i loved it like this one and am definitely looking forward to read all books ever written by her! she is a fantastic author and i am officially smitten!
aliight. now, i would like to say something. shifter romances are a cure all and i'm so glad this genre exists. it doesn’t matter if you’re in a slump or whatever, anytime you pick up a shifter romance, you will end up loving no matter what. and i will personally fight anyone who dares to deny this. anywhoo. . .
'Now that she’s mine, she will always smell like she’s just been fucked.'
k. so. Ivy (h) first meets Ty (Tyson / H) when she crashes into his wolf form with her car. him, knowing that she’s his mate, immediately turns back into man and insists that Ivy comes with him.
"I've never felt this way about anybody before, Ivy. My only. It's because you're the only one for me. We’re meant to be together."
Ivy was a very realistic heroine and i loved that. she wasn't a doormat and clearly expressed her opinions. she stood her own and was just the perfect heroine. when she sees the wolf turn into a big naked man, she is astonished and scared, to say the least and just wants to chalk everything as a dream. her initial reaction is that this man wants to kill her, but little does she know, the big bad wolf is here for his little mate.
"Kill you? Never," he grunts. "Why would I kill my mate?" "Oh for fuck’s sake," I groan without first measuring my words. It’s a day for F-words. Clearly, he's nuts. He’s a crazy werewolf. Or I’m having a crazy fever dream.
Tyson being Tyson, refuses to even answer her questions. the only thing going through his mind was— Mark Her! Fuck Her! Make Her Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!
and then, there was this absurd notion of him using his dick as a blow torch, and i just—
no i’m not kidding. . . .
I pull the handle and it fails to release the door, the door that prevents me from getting to her. Anger bubbles up and I want to use my cock to pierce a hole through it to get to her.
*clears throat* i just—
. . . . .
aliight, moving onnn
then there was "the conflict" and i have to say that i was speechless. why?? why?????? why would he do that?? i think i understood why he did it. ya know with his alpha instinct and the fact that hes spent more years as wolf than man. . .but still, i was shoookk
for any of ya’ll wondering what it was →
yeah, i know. it was BAD. but, then again, an alpha shifter book, i’d be disappointed if something like this hadn’t happened lol
anywhoo. moving onto to lighter topics, why was her "pussy" talked about like that???
'This pussy is the boss. It wants all I want to give it and I’m going to keep giving it. This perfect creature is mine.'
i’m sorry, but waaattt??? i’m currently half laughing and half crying.
i just have no words lmao
"Ah. Punishment with orgasms so you’ll submit. Classic alpha shifter move."
i think this quote speaks volumes without me having to say anything. i just had to put this in review bc holy fucking shit. damn. i think they went all night?? also, the whole thing with his dick knotting??? i am once again struck speechless. as absurd as these things were, i loved every second of it!
overall, wild was a classic alpha shifter romance with a lot of ott stuff that i loved every minute of!
"Are you asking me to marry you?" "I already married you. I’m asking you to marry me back." "Yes," I say. "I will." He smiles big and kisses me.

DNF@66% This was soooo repetitive, omg. I don’t think, in all the years I’ve read smut, I’ve read a book where the characters had so much sex. That’s not to say it was all descriptive, but the quantity was truly astounding. I think they had sex every 40 minutes during the day and then back to back to back every night before bed until they’d pass out. Like wtf? And even though the FMC complained numerous times of being too sore (BECAUSE OFC!) even crying in pain, the MMC would still man-handle his way inside her, you know, coerce and r*pe her. There’s a lot of that in this book.
I knew going in this was a shifter book, ergo “primal” so instincts would take over. However I didn’t realize it would be like that for the entirety of the book. All 500 pages, even when ppl explain to him why what he was doing was wrong, he played victim or pulled his “instincts” card and then turned it around on the FMC on making her out to be the villain for wanting to leave him (because she had a job/family/life) or for denying him. IT’S ONLY BEEN LIKE 2 DAYS. 500 pages of this!!! I truly saw Stockholm syndrome being played out and I think ppl think that’s romantic? “Oh he’s so OTT Possessive, he’s in lust with only her! No one else will do anymore! The SEVENTY other women he fucked were nothing to him. But wait, she had 15 partners?! NOT OKAY! He deserves to be angry and judge her!”
She was just beaten down mentally. Even held down sexually, punished with sex. It’s exhausting and terrifying. Also weird and hypocritical that she got scared and left a house of creepy men based on vibes but yet when a naked man breaks your car to get to you and says he’s going to fuck you whether you like it or not, but you’ll like it because he’ll make it good for you, you forget all about that. What was the author thinking?! She made no sense with these characters.
There were so many other issues with this book but I can’t go into it because I’m mentally exhausted from trying to push myself through this. Romance books, even dark romances aren’t supposed to be like this.
Hint to authors: MMCs are supposed to be at least somewhat likeable! Just because they’re obsessed and claim the FMC as their mate and don’t care to get to know her besides sexually doesn’t make a good character! Ffs.
I'm still pondering this one a bit because there were some things that disturbed me about this book.
I like dark. I can even get on board with NC sex. I love PN, omegaverse and shifter books. So I get the whole mating, hormone, lust thing. However, despite knowing the MMC in this book was going to be the alphaest of alphas, I still felt uncomfortable at the NC. I got past the initial mating, even with the FMC constantly trying to escape. But, that scene in the barn, if you've read it, you know the one, whilst I can get that MMC was being true to his uncontrolled nature, I found that one a bit hard to take.
And that she got over it without the requisite grovelling. For longer. A lot longer...
To top it off, in the Acknowledgement at the end, the author says she'll write the next one some time, in between all the other apparently more important books she has to write. Meanwhile having invested us in at least two other characters books whose plots are very significant at the end of the book
I'll admit I loved the starting idea, then as it progressed, certain things kept me at bay, lingering somewhere between the thin line of questionable and dubious conduct...
yes, the alpha shifter that had to learn how to be human...
you don't meet a character like this every day, I agree....
ok, I generally liked it...and I am intrigued to read about more of the bunch in this pack :)
Let's start with saying I kept going back and forth for a while on how to rate this. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, I did very much so. I think it was a very well written, enjoyable, hot story and it had soo much potential but two factors bothered me so much while reading and I kept thinking about it after it ended too so I'm gonna have to lower what I initially thought I was gonna rate it. Number 1: the hero's s3xual past kept getting brought up almost obsessively and for no reason at all. We get it, he was a manwh0re and fucked oh so many women yadayada. I'm not opposed to heroes (and heroines!!!) being promiscuous as long as it's over when the MCs meet and from that point on they have eyes for each other only and also as long it's not overtly described or like it was the case for this book, constantly brought up. I fucking hate it. Especially when it serves no purpose to the story. I vividly remember while reading Nectar, the first book I ever picked up from this author, the same thing occurred and left me so disappointed: all the hero ever did before meeting the heroine was fuck his way through life and it was continuously mentioned to the point it ruined the whole experience of reading. Same thing happened here, unfortunately. Is it supposed to make the hero more appealing and fuckable? because it is NOT, not to me at least. I'd say the exact opposite in fact, but to each their own I guess. Secondly: there's one specific scene... it was brutal, out of the blue and quite frankly so unnecessary and if you've read this book you probably can picture what scene I'm referring to. So Tyson, the hero, is a wolf shifter right? A lone werewolf who spent the majority of his life in wolf form and because of that he's definitely uncivilized and not exactly what you would call a functioning human being. Him and the heroine Ivy are at a party together to celebrate his reuniting with his family and pack when all of a sudden he notices a shifter showing interest in Ivy, he completely loses control, attacks him and almost beats him to death and rap3s Ivy in a barbarous way in front of the whole pack (while everyone stands still watching without helping, mind you) including his mom. Yeah. Fuck no. I cringed so hard. It was such a gratuitous scene. And remember, I personally love brutal and crude sex scenes, non-con, cruel heroes and all that but it has to make sense or else it's just trash. I found this particular scene was just used as a shock factor and I didn't appreciate it at all. Aside from this long list of complaints I did find the story entertaining and sexy so if you're in the mood for a hot werewolf alpha who's obsessed with his mate from the very moment he lays eyes on her, you're in for a treat. Can't wait to read the more from this series!
I have read a few shifter books but haven't found any that I liked in a long while. I know DD Prince has a way of writing alpha-delicious heroes that no one else can touch. That's one of the reasons that she is an auto-buy author for me. She didn't disappoint. Tyson was all that I had hoped plus some! He couldn't have been more jealous and possessive. When he met Ivy he knew immediately that she was his and was determined from the beginning that she was going to be his no matter what. I loved every second of it. Ivy annoyed me just a bit because she seemed a little stuck up like Tyson was so bad, almost like she was too judgmental. He was perfect. I would have jumped on him and climbed him like a tree but Ivy tried her best to resist. The story left a great foundation for a series and left it open to having other super naturals make appearances in later installments. Tyson found out that he had a whole community of shifters available to him so there were several side characters that I can't wait to hear their stories . This book was everything and I can't find anything that compares now. You have to read this story. It's got shifters, groveling by the hero, tons of jealous and possessive moments. It's everything! I am totally obsessed . Don't miss out on Tyson!
I never hide the fact that I am this author's biggest fan. She has written a character, prior to this that still is in my top five book boyfriends of all-time. So to say, that I wait on bated breath for new words from her, is an understatement. If I could clone her so that she could write faster, trust me, I would. After reading this story, I double wish for that clone because I need ALL of these shifters and their stories. ALL. OF. THEM.
The world-building in this one was sublime. So much detail. There were times that this book was reminiscent of another favorite author of mine, and then there were times that it was uniquely her own style. I LOVE that about her. From the first encounter between Tyson and Ivy, I was all in. I loved getting a dual point of view so I could get into both of these character's heads. Even though this happened in a pretty short period of time, it didn't feel like it was an instant-lust/love type of cheesy romance which is good because I really struggle with those, so if an author can make me forget time and not make me roll my eyes it says something about their skill as a writer. It was fleshed out. Time seemed to slow down. I not only got to see the foundation of a storyline being set up for future books, and a relationship between the main characters, but I also got to see a connection form where a lone wolf suddenly had a pack. It was fantastic to watch unfold.
The relationship between Tyson and Ivy was complicated. There was an ease to these characters, and I found myself discovering so much about them, just as they were also discovering things about themselves and each other. It made me connect with them even more. Sweet holy titfire, the steam between these two was FIRE. Some of her best work yet, and trust me, this author can write some steam, so that says something. However, it didn't overpower the story. It fit in the story if that makes sense. There is one scene that is pretty intense. It made my heart hurt but the way that they came to terms, and the sacrifices that were willing to be made to make amends with it made it all better.
There is a twist that I didn't see coming in regards to how this connection was formed. I should have known, considering, I have devoured all of her other books, but it still had me laughing to myself at how wittingly she tied this story to another. I wondered how she was going to do it after it was hinted in another book (considering these were two totally different characters) but, even then, I still hadn't put all the pieces together until the very end. I live for moments when an author can do that.
I could go on and on like my typical shiny squirrel self likes to do when I write a review for this author, but I won't except to say, that she once again took a sub-genre and ran with it. She knocked it out of the park. Alessandro from Saved owns my heart, but Tyson just gave him a run for his money and the start of this series just moved up to my new favorite. Until the next book, where I am sure she will have me eating these words.
I have no problem with dark content. How an author handles that content determines my rating and review.
TW: author uses the fated mates trope to justify rape. The FMC is very much an object with no autonomy for the entire book. Her choice in anything is completely stripped from her until the very last pages. She doesn’t even get to be a fully individualized character—she only exists in relationship to the MMC. The author treats what the MMC does to the FMC flippantly, as something that is easily overcome because they’re mates. I gave this one star for that reason; that and the author fails to redeem him.
The MMC rapes the FMC immediately after he abducts her. The magic of the mate bond means her body responds but her mind does not. She begs him to stop. He tells her no. The rest of the book is her trying to escape, him using sex and the mating bond to force her submission, and her repetitive internal dialogue about how she needs to get away or does she? - lather, rinse, repeat. This book could have been half the length that it is. It is extremely repetitive.
Around the 70ish % mark, she’s warmed up to him and he then very publicly and very brutally rapes her in front of his family’s pack to prove she’s his when another male keeps throwing eyes at her. The rest of the book is him apologizing, losing his temper when she doesn’t accept his apology, her escaping, him bringing her back, more apologizing, more temper tantrums, ad nauseam. He is more concerned about her being angry at him and getting back in her good graces than he is about the fact that he hurt her. He centers himself in her pain. The internalized misogyny just leaps from the page.
It’s not until the 93ish % mark that he maybe seems to understand that raping people and stripping them of choice is problematic.
I could have liked this story if the author had gone in the direction of the MMC learning social skills, respect of others, and why his behavior is abhorrent and unacceptable but unfortunately she fails to redeem him. It’s just not enough.
This was my first shifter romance and I really enjoyed it!! I’m kinda pissed though because I didn’t realize that this was a new series. So now I’m impatiently waiting for book 2. This was a such good one! The sexy times were ON POINT (I really enjoyed those too lol). I think this book sets the table for the books to come and I’m excited to learn more about this crazy world. I do feel like this book could’ve been a little longer, just to really give us a bang with the witches. But maybe that’s to come later in the series. And I wish the last sex scenes were... more. After Tyson’s display of extreme jp alpha behavior (that’s what I’m calling it), and Ivy’s adamant refusal to forgive, I just feel like we needed an equally powerful make up. I feel like the ending was a little lacking compared to the rest of the book for that reason. But I’m still sooooo impatient with the wait to book 2. This is a series I could binge read.
Also- Tyson is a jp hero, but you don’t get to witness much of it because the characters spend a lot of time alone.
I can’t wait to read about the other alpha’s jp behavior!
From one of my very favorite authors and she decided to write about a super uber-alpha werewolf shifter and the human who gets swept up into his world. Seriously, he is a feral beast and I loved watching him fall in love and adapt - it was magical, with angst and so much heart and heat. Ivy and Ty scorch the pages.
I floved the world and the characters- I’m so excited for more stories in Drowsy Hollow.
Genre: Paranormal Romance Type: Book 1 of Savage Alpha Shifters POV: First Person - Dual Rating:
Ivy Brennan had a lot going on in her life, so she thought a weekend away would be an ideal escape. But her trip to the wilderness ended up with an encounter with untamed creature, Tyson Savage. Neither of them realized that their lives would never be the same again.
I readily admit I picked up this book due to the assurance of knotting. It delivered plenty of it and then some. I enjoyed the overall storyline learning about the pack dynamics and the community, but I felt the book was unnecessarily long.
I don’t belong here.
I loved the amusing nature of both Tyson and Ivy, especially since they were practically clueless about the situations. And Tyson was endearing in his naivety.
Wild is a story of adapting and embracing one’s nature. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a sexy werewolf shifter romance.

It's been over a decade since I read a shifter book. I guess I was finally ready to indulge in one again. I found this rec in a FB readers' group. I was in the mood for an OTT alpha hero, and I thought this would be perfect. I got my OTT alpha, alright. He was wild, primal, a savage, and I loved that 🔥 "Tyson Savage is even wilder as a man than he is as a wolf! Side Note: that name was cheesy 🙈
This has some serious dark romance undertones--not for sensitive readers. I appreciate that the author didn't hold back in that regard. I found the smutty aspect of this book highly enjoyable. If you have a thing for primal kink, this one is it. Unfortunately, there was a lot of side drama I really wasn't interested in. This is over 400 pages long, and everything pretty much became repetitive, especially the conflict between the main characters. Their dialogue was like a broken record. And honestly, the heroine didn't come off very bright in her inner-monologues. The writing isn't anything deep. I skimmed read the second half of the book.
Check out 'Val ⚓️ Shameless Handmaiden ⚓️'s review. What she said!
I think for some other people would think this book when they read the firsts will be SERIOUSLY? But when you read the whole thing and in the end it would make a perfect sense on WHY.... So i did and this book end up making me warms inside 😭😍 its too good to be true... its too lovely book 🥺 YESSS! TOTALLY WORTH TO READ!
THIS SHIFTER WOLF in love with a human is gold👌
The hero indeed take the heroine and kidnaps her because he know she was the one and he thought at first the heroine knows it too. But i’m glad IN THE END OF THE BOOK IT EXPLAINS WHY THE HEROINE WAS TAKEN AND WHY THE WHOLE THING HAS TO HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM!!! IT WAS DESTINY! So don’t judge at first ;)
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS A WOLF SHIFTER AND DOESN’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE WORLD. What i mean about doesn’t know much about the world is like, he doesn’t even know how to peel of a banana... That kinda thing he doesn’t know guys... and many other simple and little things he doesn’t know. HE DOES’T GO TO SCHOOL GROWING UP AND DOESN’T SOCIALIZE because of some reason that would make you understand his reasons.... So what i mean is HE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE... his like a new born baby.
but he knows many other important stuff as well. don’t worry, his not too much like a child.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE FOR SURE OMG....
Over the top possessive he is!!!
‼️‼️‼️ LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT. And its very sweet and romantic 🥺 THE HEROINE felt it too but because she is too stubborn and doesn’t want to listen to her guts, she ignores it and thinks its not. And then later she realize its a beautiful destiny to happened... THE HERO KNOWS IT AND SEARCH FOR HER.
“When i knew her scent was directly in front of me, the urge was fierce. THE URGE TO CLAIM. THIS IS URGENCY I’VE NEVER FELT.”
“I’d woken far too early to hunt, though ravenous and restless until my nose twitched with interest like never before, sending me in aimless circles for what felt like an eternity until I was hit with the onslaught of her scent. WHO SHE WAS. THE ONE. MY ONLY ONE. The best scent to ever hit my nose....”
‼️‼️‼️MANY HUT SMUT SCENES. Idk if they both been celibate for a while because they didn’t talk about celibate...
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO SAID SOOOOOOO MANY TIMES I EVEN LOST COUNT how many times he said to her and to himself and to every body; SHE IS MINE. MINE.
MINE.
mine.
MY ONE AND ONLY.... MY ONLY ONE... MY ONLY.
Its so very sweet 🥺🥺🥺
‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING NOPEEEEEEEE....
‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC HOT LOVE STORY!
You will the amazing connection between the two.
The whole story is not boring at all. In fact its getting more interesting!
‼️‼️‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. ONLY WITH OM. And other drama is between the couple and the pack. NOT TOO ANNOYING AND NOT TOO MUCH!
‼️‼️‼️MANY. MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO! And little from the heroine, little!
“I want to rip his throat out. I want to rip all their throats out. None are worthy of her.”
“BECAUSE NOW I KNOW I DON’T LIKE ANYBODY TOUCHING MY WOMAN”
When the heroine’s ex sent her a text and the hero read it he was so very mad. “Tyson’s face (hero) WAS READ, HIS NOSTRILS WERE FLARING, AND HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO GO FIND BEN AND RIP HIS FACE OFF.”
“I DID NOT F*CKING LIKE WHAT I FELT FROM HIM AS HE APPROACHED MY WOMAN. ITS AS IF HIS MIND IS WRONG. THE WAY HIS EYES TOUCH HER IS F*CKING WRONG.”
When the hero asked the guy who was watching the heroine from a far “why are your eyes on whats mine?” OMG awwwwwwww
“I WANT TO RIP HIS HEART OUT. BUT FIRST HIS EYES. HIS EYES THAT TOUCHED HER. HIS LUNGS THAT ARE FULL OF HER SCENT. I WANT TO CRUSH IT ALL.”
“I NEVER WANT HIS NAME ON YOUR LIPS AGAIN, IVY. NEVER! “
🥺🥺🥺🥺
‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.
But I’m very happy and glad WHEN THE HERO SAID “I WISH NOW I’D TOUCHED NO ONE BUT HER. I HATE THAT MY C*CK EVEN TOUCHED ANOTHER WOMAN’S C*NT,”
Also the heroine even said she wish the hero found him sooner before others. She wish he find her and claim her and both can be first and the only one.
‼️‼️‼️PAST PARTNERS mention like not many times because both asked. The heroine said about her couple of times because the hero insisted and the hero only said like three times about his past because the heroine asked and he just said it. Not too annoying tho....
‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE IS A SASSY ONE BUT TOO STUBBORN...
‼️‼️‼️I LIKED THE HERO VERY MUCH! HE IS VERY MUCH IN LOVE WITH THE HEROINE EVEN AFTER THEIR FIRST DAYS HE SAID HE LOVED HER. Because he knows deep down she is the one!
Like he is very much obsessed with the heroine!!! 🥺🥺
“I WON’T EVER, EVER HARM YOU. YOU NEED NEVER FEAR ME. I’VE NEVER FELT THIS WAY ABOUT ANYBODY BEFORE YOU. MY ONLY.”
“YOU ARE MY MATE. MY ONLY ONE. THIS MARK MEANS I’LL MARRY NO OTHER.”
The hero even said this...
She asked “knotted? What is that?”
“Part of my c*ck grow larger inside you so that i can’t dislodged, so that I can fill you with my seed. I’ve never knotted inside anyone but you. Its never been this good, Ivy. Not even close to this good.” 🥺🥺🥺
WHEN THE HEROINE WAS IN DANGER BUT SHE WAS QUICKLY SAVED AND THE HERO THOUGHT HE WOULD LOST HER he said; “SHE HAS TO SURVIVE THIS. SHE HAS TO. IF SHE DOESN’T I’LL JOIN HER WHEREVER SHE’S GOING. I’LL RIP MY OWN HEART OUT AND JOIN HER.” Omg❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕🥺🥺🥺
Even when the heroine was sad. “She’s crying, i hate it when she cries. HATE ISNT A STRONG ENOUGH WORD. I want to inflict pain on whatever it is making her cry, which means i want to rip myself apart.”
Aaaaawwwww🥺🥺🥺🥺
‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION but only for a day.
I love when the hero just really go for the heroine even when she said no let her go. He really takes her and just apologize so many times i lost count... WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG BUT NO CHEATING! (He publicly have sex with the heroine because he was very extremely jealous of the OM looking at the heroine from a far) just that okay. Afterward he felt very mad he humiliated her like that without thinking. (He’s a alpha btw).
“I’ll do my best to earn your forgiveness over time.”
“But I will do everything I can do to fix this between us. IF YOU’RE SO HURT THAT YOU PUNISH ME FOREVER, I’LL DESERVE IT. BUT I’LL BE HERE. TRYING TO BE BETTER. Trying for you.” 🥺🥺🥺🥺
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO NEVER PUSH THE HEROINE AWAY... ONLY THE HEROINE. Couple of times. Not too annoying and not too much either....
‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING! They got married and having a baby. I want a longer epilogue but i think i will get that from the second book hopefully COMING VERY SOON BECAUSE I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!
This series will be soooo good! Please faster!!!!
Please more series of this to come! I need it! ‼️‼️
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
I’m a reader that loves a lot of genres, the only thing that I want in my story is romance and a happy end. So when one of my favourite writers announced that she would write a werewolf/shifter book I was really excited and also a bit nervous about that. Excited because I knew that with her alpha male characters this shifter book would be SHIFTER ALPHA and nervous because with all the other shifter books already out, it’s difficult to be a ‘new’ voice in it (I personally think). But I’m delighted that in her own special DD Prince way, this writer created a world filled with alphas and new things. And I loved every minute of it!
The story is about Tyson (Ty) and Ivy. Ty is a totally alpha wolf shifter and Ivy is human. For Tyson, it’s immediately clear that Ivy is his destined mate, from the first smell of her. But for Ivy, how is a human, it goes all too quickly and is too confusing. But Tyson has his own special shifter way to convince Ivy that they belong together and she’s almost convince when he makes a great mistake. Can he convince her again that they belong together??
‘Wild’ is a very hot, sexy, steamy story, especially in the begin, so be prepared for that but also know that the more you read, the more the story develop into much more than that. It’s a light read but it’s also an emotional one. The story reads very fluent and although the time period where everything happens is short, it doesn’t feel that way. (Like always the writer gives us many pages to enjoy!)
Tyson was a very fascinating main male character, because of his many years in wolf form his instincts at times where more wolf than human and that mixed with his alpha character, made him very predatory and protective, dominant, very sexual and also affectionate but it also made him very innocent at times and sweet, like a cute puppy. So I can totally understand that Ivy found it difficult to resist him and his hot body. Ivy was a strong female character who was caring and friendly. One of the things that I really like about her is that she didn’t forgive Tyson very quickly. She made him work for it.
I really liked how this story was told, each chapter was in either Ivy’s or Tyson’s POV. And this was especially good during that extra emotional scene, to read Tyson’s and Ivy’s feelings about that.
The secondary characters were great too. I loved how we slowly got to know him and it was wonderful to see how Tyson slowly opened his heart to his family and pack after being separated from them for so long. The bond between him and his pack brothers was special.
The writer again created a wonderful story this time filled with shifters, magic, witches and much more. I’m very looking forward to read more of this world, especially after seeing little glimpses of the other alpha’s romances in this story!!! For the readers who have read her ‘Hollow duet’, you will see some connection with those two stories too. But it’s not necessary to read them first before reading this book.
For the readers of hers, who aren’t sure if they would like this paranormal genre, I can only say that if you liked ‘Alphahole’ of this writer, then you have to try this one too. It has a bit of the same feel to it.
Ivy is on the trip from hell, what was supposed to be a fun getaway at a cozy cabin weekend turned out to be a greatly misjudged waste of money and her fleeing from her new ex-friend who is only thinking of herself. Ivy leaves with her car but only ends up lost in the mountains and inadvertently hitting a wolf, next thing she knows a naked man is in front of her trying to get her to come out and making claims she is his.
Tyson Savage has lived as a wolf for years but finding his mate had been one thing he has always wanted. When he gets Ivy scent, he knows he has her. Taking her back to his home, which is more of a dust bin he thinks he is doing right by his mate. Ivy though is not on board at all. They mate but Ivy has every intention of leaving even if she has started to develop feelings for him. What will happen if she does leave, will Tyson let her go?
There is so so much more to this story. This is a dark paranormal romance so if you have triggers I would look to see if this one has it because there are a couple of things that are really dark. Overall though the story is really good, a bit angsty where Ivy is concerned but I think that is more because she is struggling with accepting that she would end up giving up everything she has for Tyson. Had a surprise towards the end but overall a really good and slightly different shifter story.
