Holly Lane has spent her life under the crushing thumbs of her cop father and controlling mother. Now, well into her twenties, she’s finally getting a fresh start and moving into her own apartment. Breaking away from her parents should be easy, but how can Holly begrudge their overprotective nature when their other daughter was murdered by an outlaw biker years ago?
With his brand-spankin’ new patch, Little Jack has a satisfying life in the Hell’s Handlers MC. Sure, the town’s new sheriff is messing with his club, but it’s nothing they can’t handle. Life only gets better when LJ’s dream woman walks out of his fantasies and into the vacant apartment next to his. Holly is sweet as sugar, curvy in ways that make LJ’s mouth water, and the woman can bake like no other. Personal demons keep LJ from chasing a long-term relationship with any woman, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a little fun with his hot new neighbor.
Holly is pretty sure life is finally on the right track when she meets LJ on her first day in town. Incredibly tall, bearded, tattooed, and strong enough to unload her car without breaking a sweat, her new neighbor just might be perfect.
With outrageous chemistry and a genuine liking for each other, Holly and LJ seem destined for an explosive encounter until a tornado rolls through their budding relationship in the form of Holly’s father. As the new town sheriff, her father only has one item on his agenda: eliminate the Hell’s Handlers MC.
I am actually in between 2 and 3 stars. I round it down to 2. Cause.... Little Jack is just hot mess. A really hot mess and it is dragging on and on. The plot is pretty simple and straight forward. An innocent damsel in distress falling for bad boy MC.
Miss Atlas made a big flurry of the story itself. Everything is dragging and repeatative. I actually found myself skipping the audiobook just trying to finish it. 11 hours.
Little Jack was the sixth book in Lilly Atlas’ Hell’s Handlers series.
I loved everything about Little Jack “LJ” and Holly. They were two people who would never likely meet except Holly moved into the empty apartment next to LJ and the sparks ignited from the onset.
LJ had just patched into the MC and was as loyal as they came. He had some past military demons that he rivaled but was otherwise golden. Holly had grown up to dislike Bikers. Due to a childhood tragedy, Holly’s parents hovered over her, even at twenty five. She was ready to break free of their chains, live independently and grow her pastry business.
I enjoyed how Atlas took us through a friendship between LJ and Holly while also developing a plot around an MC conflict. It added depth and dimension; keeping the pages turning. The only downside was the numerous editing errors.
In the end, it was a quick, intriguing and entertaining read. Additionally, all of the MC characters were front and center displaying a tight bond, loyalty, humor, uber alpha protectiveness and sexy fun. It looks like Screw and Jazz are next with promise for another explosive story and I can’t wait!
As per usual Lilly Atlas slaps me in the face with the feels and I am so so damn happy that Little Jack gave me all I was looking for. Rocket was my least favorite installment but I didn’t let that color my going into this book and rocket in this book was a great support for my boy LJ. Bruised and battered LJ who was solid for everyone but himself. He was a good hero even if in the first quarter he was a mild asshole with his assumptions about Holly. Holly who was to sweet for this world and deserved every happiness possible. They were a perfect pairing and I loved every second of their falling in love.
LJ served his country as a Navy SEAL he lost so much while he was serving it really has taken a toll on him which is why he normal does a hit and run act when it comes to women. But when he "Bumps" into his new neighbor Holly his hit and run act doesn't seem like a good idea.
Holly is new to town and for the first time living on her own. Her father is the Town Sheriff and he has always had a strong hold over Holly since her twin sister was murdered when they were twelve years old. I have to say that I hated much of the police force in this town and when Holly's father became Sheriff it really didn't help matters.
The Hell's Handlers Series can be read in any order, although it is meant to be read in order because prior couples do pop up in each of the books there is no running thread through them so each book can be read as a standalone. I have only read Zach's book which was the first one, although they are all on my TBR list and a few of them are on my kindle waiting for me to get to them, and I was perfectly fine in not reading the book that was released prior to this one.
This story was more than just an MC Romance for me, I felt it was also a Military story as well as a survivor story with Holly's background. Lilly Atlas did a wonderful job with Little Jack's story, she showed us a part of the after effects war has on our soldiers that many of us do not get to see because it's not something that can be physically seen. PTSD is a real factor for many of the men and women who have served but it's not shared due to embarrassment or whatever but it's something that can be as debilitating as loosing a limb.
4.6 stars. LJ and Holly’s story is so, so sweet. LJ is kind of an asshole to Holly a few times at first, but that’s just his fear and insecurities talking.
I really loved LJ so much. He and Holly working through their issues was so satisfying to see, and the way Holly was just so loyal and helpful. Uhh *chef’s kiss* So. Good.
The sex was hot and steamy. The plot was perfection. Their relationship had some bumps along the way, but I really enjoyed how they grew together.
Lily Atlas has hit it out the ball park again with Little Jack. I swear she gets better with each book. Although you could read each book as a standalone it is recommended to read them in order so you get to see each characters from the previous book in the next book. I have to say that this one really did it for me because I love Little Jack. He has gone through so much in life that it has effected him. He served his country and now suffers from PTSD and has issues with getting close to others. That is until he meets his new next door neighbor and his heart decides it wants to change.
Holly has suffered a terrible life. She has lost her twin sister to a murderer at a young age. So her parents are very controlling and not to mention her father is a police officer who has taken a sheriff position in a new town. Holly has decided she needs to prove to her own parents she can live alone and be fine so she gets her an apartment on her own and when she meets her new neighbor her heart definitely knows what it wants and that is LJ.
But what happens when they find out who each other is see Holly's father is the new Sheriff in town and LJ is a new patched in member of the Hell's Handlers MC.
5 *sweet* stars. I was given this book in exchange for a review from the author before it was released. But with me being sick in the hospital and now nursing home/rehab facility for my foot I can’t read anything and when I do read I tend to fall asleep due to the medicine they gave me on so Lilly if you are reading this dear I am so sorry I am so late! I enjoyed this book as much as I have all her other books. This one has some twists and turns in it but not really as much suspense but was still a hot sexy book! Can’t wait to see what is next in this series.
Holly is a naive young woman and and sweeter than the pastries she makes. She’s also the daughter of the new sheriff, who is hell bent on bringing down The Handlers. LJ is a freshly patched in member of a MC. They should never work!
Throughly enjoy this series, the Hell’s Handlers and their old ladies in a world where nothing is black and white. Where cops are bad, and one-percenters are good. Like how Lilly Atlas addresses PTSD in this book, too.
Awful! My first book by this person, with the poor quality of the writing, I can't call them an author, haven't read the first books in the series and I won't be after this! Here's an example of how bad this is, a slight spoiler, which I never do, but it's a huge plot problem so....
Holly finds out her dad, the sheriff, planted drugs in the clubhouse her biker boyfriend LJ, is a member of and is going to raid the club in like twenty minutes. But instead of calling LJ to warn him or calling the clubhouse, she decides to drive there to warn them! Um.. what? Seriously wasting time when a simple one minute phone call would do. Especially when time is of such importance. Not good!
Then her car breaks down and again instead of calling LJ, or the clubhouse, or the other biker men or any of their old ladies, who she is best friends with, she calls a different friend to come and get her, to pick her up and drive her to the clubhouse, so she can warn them! Instead of just bloody calling them!?! Ridiculously stupid! I can't believe this book has over a hundred reviews and not one of them mentioned the bad plot lines and poor writing.
Here's a more detailed list of the many other problems, including the poor quality writing, if you need it.
1. The sex scenes are basic and the talking during them was cringing.
2. The story is very dragging and it's very, very, repetitive.
3. There are incorrect words used, wrong punctuation, including wrongly placed speech marks and exclamation marks on every greeting, so it reads like characters are always shouting, instead of just saying hi. The author's vocabulary is basic, the word 'easier' was used five times in a five sentence paragraph. Fuve! The same word is also used twice in numerous sentences, again showing the limited vocabulary.
4. The wording used is very juvenile and cheesy.
5. I was going to give 2 stars but I just couldn't get passed the stupid plotlines. Really bad! There are so many, I'm not going to write them all.
6. Holly is annoying, she constantly whines to the reader about how overbearing and overprotective her parents are and go too far to control her life and how it was unhealthy she let them and she needed to finally start to set limits. Yada, yada, yada... But she never does but keeps whining about it. Annoying to read.
7. This is nothing but emotional baggage and constant back and forth with Holly's inner monogues. For example, when she thinks that she doesn't believe the biker convicted of her sisters death was really guilty, she then thinks because her dad believes it, it was always 'easier' for her to accept that he was guilty. But then in the same sentence she admits that her father had a twisted vendetta towards all bikers and it never feel right to believe him, urgh! This happens constantly throughout the book about almost every thing she thinks about, including her relationship with LJ. Back and forth headache!
8. The heroine wa so stupid and all the characters lacked depth.
9. It was so obvious that the plot was going to turn out to be the old cliche of the criminal bad boy biker would actually be the real good guy, and save her from the upstanding cop, who is actually the bad guy, urgh! Annoying.
10. The relationship is too insta-love, insta-everything. They only knew each other a couple of days when they both were claiming the other was the most amazing person they had ever met and they were in love.
Just really awful plot and poor quality writing. Complete waste of time. I gave two stars because there was some humor I liked, like between Holly and her brother and the MC men but that wasn't enough to give more stars. Even the ending was too abrupt, no information given about how they managed to get Curly released, annoying, and her dad just gets off scot free. Not great.
Wow ! Lilly does it again ! What and amazing story and we loved it from the beginning to end .We love that this author always creates these wonderful characters each and every-time that we are bound to fall in love with and we did so this time around to as we loved Holly and LJ right from the very beginning.
Holly was bit of a firecracker and outspoken and so sweet and kind and so funny.Right from the onset of the story we new that she would be the perfect fit with all the other old ladies.
LJ - that man is sexy as sin and such a smooth talker and they way Holly described him sex on a stick and we totally agree.
Overall we absolutely loved it! LJ had been floundering a bit for months and dealing with some personal demons but, once meeting Holly it was like a switch went off inside him and everything changed for him but, like everything in life it was a uphill battle for both for himself and them as a couple.
We loved the fact that we saw so much change happen for Holly and as some would say really spread her wings for the first time ever and really started living her life trying to break away from a toxic relationship she had been in with her parents for a very long time.
The story was funny and had really great characters and those old ladies know how to make us laugh to.As always we loved that Maverick made us laugh with his antics and how he always seemed to be getting in trouble with his old lady and we almost forgot how crass that man is. Grins....
Was this a typical story where the sheriffs daughter falls in with the outlaw heck know it was so much more and it had some very interesting twists and turns and a whole lot of lies and betrayals and we loved every minute of it.
This current story made a great edition to this on going series and we have to say LJ is definitely up there with some of our favorite MC characters now for the year 2019 and goes into our keep pile to read time and time again.
Little Jack was the sixth book in Lilly Atlas’Hell’s Handlers series.
LJ served his country as a Navy SEAL he lost so much while he was serving that he can't seem to stick with one woman. But when he stumbles into his new neighbor Holly he starts feeling all these emotions that he's not used too! His first instant is not to run, but to see where this might go. He is also a new patched in member of the Hell's Handlers MC.
Holly is new to town and has just moved into her very first apartment on her own. Her father is the Town Sheriff and keeps a watchful eye on her due to her twin sister being murdered when she was 12 years old. Holly has suffered a terrible life but she feels to is finally able to breath and stand on her own two feet.
I loved watching Holly grow stronger through this book. LJ and Holly’s story is so complicated and this story was so emotional with all the feels. I didn't read any of the other books from this series before I read it. I had however read books from Lilly Atlas' previous series. I probably if I had time would have read them before hand. But I wasn't lost and could enjoy this book without them. I will however get into them at a later date when I have time.
Overall Lilly Atlas delivers a page turner, with a kick ass leading lady. She gave us suspense and enough a plot to keep you entertained to the last page. I also loved her secondary characters which always make a book ten times better for me. I highly recommend picking up this book!
This book is amazing!! Lilly Atlas is one of my favorite MC Romance authors. Her books are so freaking good. LJ and Holly’s story was so complex and the story was so emotional. A few times I wanted to throw my Kindle to the wall in frustration, and a few few times I was swooning. Another time I was falling in love with LJ and then there was Holly. Watching her grow stronger through the book was amazing. At first, I confess, I was wary of her. But Lilly made a great job in showing her conflict between LJ and her family. But again I have to say, she was amazing. At a certain scene my heart was beating wildly and I was at the edge of my seat. And LJ..God I loved him and my heart was hurting for him and and the same time I was swooning and wanted a Little Jack for myself. And what can I say about the secondary characters. The brotherhood, sisterhood and the FAMILY in this book is amazing. It shows you that real family is not always blood but the family that you choose. The plot, the suspense and angst is awesome. As always Lilly Atlas delivers a page turner that I’m sure if you are a fan of her books or an MC romance lover, you will definitely love it. Can’t wait for more of this amazing series.
The romance was pretty sweet. Jack and Holly were pretty smitten with each other from the start. Holly was learning to branch out and become more independent from her family. I just wasn't buying that all the cops and judges were now against the club. Also, every cop so far was sleazy. It seems inauthentic to paint that all the cops just had a hard on to get the club behind bars. That they were the only problem in town. The side characters were a bit much for me.
Overall, not a book for me. Just my struggle with MC romances.
OMG I sure hope this series is not ending any time soon because it's so good and Hott!! This is the sixth book in the series and it LJ and Holly's story... I want a Little Jack all for myself...lol. LJ is the newest member of the club and Holly is the new girl in town and also the new sheriff's daughter. Oil and water but like I've said in another review somewhere else, when oil and water do mix if you look closely at it you can see some really pretty rainbow colors so it can't all be too bad. Holly's parents still treat her like a 12 yr old little girl. That was the age when she lost her twin sister... her other half was murdered by a biker. Her sister was the risk taker and was ready to grow up and have fun while Holly was the one who liked to stay home and bake. When her sister was murdered she promised her she would try to live a life for both of them. When she finally meet someone who both sides of her like but he is part of what her father plans to destroy what is she to do? Should she follow her heart or follow her family?
OMG this book had me really wanting to throw my kindle out the window
Holly and LJ was an awesome couple. Holly is new to town and she is also the sheriff's daughter. Which is not a good thing for her as her next door neighbour is the newly patched member of the Hell's Handlers and considering her father hates motorcycle clubs its going to be a battle for her and her new hottie. LJ is doing great most days. He is finally a member of the club, and has the family he always wanted. But then the nights are not so good as he sufferes from PTSD and its hell on his sex life as he can't afford to have any women sleep over as he doesn't know when his PTSD might hit him and usually it happens at night.
But now that he met Holly he feels like his life is turning around, however he still can't afford to hurt her so they have an amazing relationship except for the part where she sleeps over. But that is not their only problem, her father is out to get him and his club. So will a choice have to be made or will he and Holly be able to overcome all their obsticles in their way.
I enjoyed this story, but like I said some parts, I wanted to scream at Holly and say stand up to your parents... AARGHHH!!! But she got there eventually but its not an easy road... This series just got better and better with each book. I however think that Maverick and Copper will always be my favourite, with LJ a close second...:-)
Gah! Lilly Atlas does it again! I freakin' love her bikers--just the perfect amount of rough and dirty with a huge dose of protective and a side of sweetness.
This story finds LJ and Holly being thrown together when she moves into into his apartment building. Instant chemistry! They both have some pretty dark experiences in their pasts that make having a relationship challenging. Add to that, LJ is part of the Hell's Handlers and Holly's father is the new sheriff in town (who happens to loathe all bikers) and they have a lot to overcome in order to be together.
I loved watching Holly come into herself. I enjoyed her interactions with the old ladies that I've come to know and love and revisiting characters from previous books. This story was full of action, just the right amount of angst, and all the steam we've come to expect from this author. But in the end, it's all about family. I loved this one and definitely recommend it!
A terrific story! LJ is a Navy Seal hero, he unfortunately suffers PTSD but he’s now finally received his Hell’s Handlers patch and is happy with his life in the MC. When a new neighbor moves in next door his life changes again, she’s sweet and sassy, and her baking is heavenly. The only drawback is her father who’s the new sheriff, he hates MC’s and is determined to close the club down.
A beautifully written tale with pain and struggles, happiness and joy. Great characters, lots of chemistry. I loved this book!
Wow read this till I was done. Very good read. Two plot stories one of growing up and one of healing. I love LJ, sweet wounded warrior. Sweet man overcoming the scars of war you can’t see. Holly waking up and growing up to see the world with true eyes and to trust you gut. She stood by LJ so bravely and wonderfully. Great h for the story.
First book I’ve read in a month as I’ve just had too much going on to sit back and relax. Whilst I did enjoy reading this book, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the other books in this series.
LJ and Holly were by far the absolute cutest couple in all of the books I have read from Lilly Atlas and are one of my absolute fav characters. Holly is also my fav mc girl so far (I felt a connection to her instantly and I truly liked that she was "plumper" then the other ladies, or had more curves would you, but that that was just even more enticement for LJ. I love when an author writes about a heroine that isn't a stick figure and shows the figure of a thicker lady)... though I will admit that her doormat tendencies with her parents rubbed me the wrong way throughout the book. I feel like Holly's brother should have been given more credit by the end of the book as he didn't seem to be like her parents at all, but it was almost like he was written out of the book. I also did not like that throughout this book there would be big gaps of time that would be skipped throughout their story... like at the beginning of a chapter it would be like "three weeks had flown by" ... "two weeks later" etc. That does rather annoy me, I don't need every play by play but I really don't like time to just continuously be skipped either because I feel like I'm actually missing out on a lot of the connection and spark that builds up the chemistry and strength of the story and the characters bond to one another. Also, the outside sex scene... fabulous was totally down for that, lol.
This would have been a 5 star for me, because I do love LJ and Holly, it just lost a star because of Holly's doormat tendencies and because the ending felt rather rushed and I don't feel like I got the ending I wanted for Curly... I want more info on his story and to see him have a happily ever after. Even though not mentioned much... I grew rather attached to his character.
Without giving it all away, I hate how it ended with the family aspect. I’m sad about the ending of this book because one family was destroyed. I wanted to get more about her brother and mother. But I guess the author didn’t want to go into depth of those characters or their reactions to what transpired.
HOWEVER, LJ and Holly were sweet and I just love their personalities. I love how different the author makes each one of these books. They are so unique but tie in so well to the series. I just can’t stop reading these stories😍
The only negative thing I have to say about this book was that there were more typos. It happened often enough for me to notice and have to re-read the sentence to make sure I understood it.
I’m interested to know what this next book will be about because it isn’t focused on one person but all about the different couples. I hope it’s just as good!!
Little Jack KU 349 pgs **** 5/9/21 Little Jack & Holly
4 stars because all of the filler pages, a lot of thinking in their heads. The sex was great but there was a lot of filler in those scenes, so it took pages and pages to get through a sex scene which took away from the sexiness of it. The flow was good once you got past the long filler pages. I wish all of those pages had been in conversation mode, it would have really added to this story, which I loved. The character building was great with all the characters. Holly grew a lot throughout the story and became stronger and more confident which was great to watch the transformation. Jack (LJ) was just a good guy all around and their chemistry was very magnetic and quite romantic. Still loving this series, so glad I purchased the boxed set so I can read it more.
Far from my favorite of the series but I did enjoy reading this book. I actually really liked both the main characters. I think Holly and LJ are good for each other and I loved Holly’s strength. However, this book irritated me, which is why I’m giving this book only ⭐️⭐️⭐️ when it had so much more potential to be great.
So… It has to be said… Ms. Atlas must hate, and I really mean HATE, law enforcement with every fiber of her being. This is the second book where she depicts law enforcement as beyond evil and crooked. Also, the way these parents grieved the loss of a child and all went well over dramatic. Granted everyone grieve differently but to be okay that your child endured sexual assault and being hit by another officer all in the name to bring a MC down that you don’t like was just way too much! 🙄🙄
With that, leaving a 2.75 STAR ⭐️ rounded up to 3! ✌🏽
What's so shocking? After reading about the TSTL story of Holly (who went out with a ridiculous cop AFTER he treated her like scrap to make her parents happy??), her sickening mother, and her villainous father (talk about one dimensional), Holly hears about the meth frameup and, instead of using her cell to call anybody at the clubhouse from the car to find the meth, oh no, she has to wait til her ride gets her to church!!!!! What is shocking is that she doesn't wait to tell them until AFTER her make-up sex!!! The conflict in the storyline was soooo pathetic, I was tempted to forego finishing. Really, girl, did no one of your group tell you how crap this story was? You need some new critics. Liked your writing up until this book. Glad I only borrowed it.
I was struggling to like the h. lordy I wanted to shake her and tell LJ that she's not good enough for you, right up to chapter 16. thank goodness she redeemed herself. I had to wait for this book to come to audible, thus forgot for awhile and I'm glad I did as I have the rest of the books to listen to now. although not as much angst and suspense with this plotline, it had favourite characters surfacing, and some worry over the new sheriff in town. it also introduced another MC member crossover which I can't wait to listen to. there was a steady pace of steam, family, loyalty and friendship. a struggle with emotions and the everpresent adage of ptsd. just loved it and loved the narrator's. they do such a great job. the duet style of narration is brilliant.
