Pete my main man is back in action !! I love everything about señor Pete and the gang. He makes me smile and he’s an instant hit with my son. When it’s time for bed we read at least 2 Pete the Cat books and one chapter of a light fantasy. Side-note these bunnies are just as fresh as the monkeys were back in the day.
A cute adaptation of a familiar song. We all know the song about the monkeys jumping on the bed and this book takes it almost word for word, swapping out monkeys for cute little bunnies. It's sure to excite the young reader who can sing along while still immersing themselves in a story about their favorite cat. There isn't much original about the book, but it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. The illustrations are as adorable and we've come to expect from Pete the Cat with bright colors and cute animals. Final Verdict: A cute rendition of a song kids already love that will put a smile on their faces.
Adapted from "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed." Pete is babysitting five bunnies and they don't want to go to bed so they jump and everyone falls off one at a time. The illustrations are cute but the story falls flat.
Pete the cat was baby sitting five little bunnies. They all jumped on the bed and one at a time they each fell off and Pete had to call the doctor. Once they all fell off and got hurt the doctor told Pete to get all of them in bed so they all went to sleep.
I really liked this book. It is very similar to the classic song five little monkeys jumping on the bed. The illustrations are very cute and it is very easy to read for beginning learners.
I think this is would be a very good book for a preschool class to introduce students to reading books. After they could have each of the children sing the song as if it said bunnies like the book. Then the teacher could have the students draw their own picture of what it would look like if they had 5 bunnies jumping on their bed.
This book is fun for young readers that enjoy the book "10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed." This book is good to read to the students around Easter time because it involves bunnies, and matches the curriculum of rabbits and eggs. This book is also a good use for a literacy lesson about rhyme and/or repetition. The students will catch on and want to say the lines of the book with you as you read it to them.
Pete the Cat is babysitting five little bunnies and they are hopping on the bed. When one falls off the bed, Pete calls the doctor and we know what happens next. A fun adaptation of The Five Little Monkeys rhyme!
Pete the Cat's version of Five Little Monkeys. It's colorful and cute. I gave it an extra star because my 1-year-old granddaughter loved it. I read it twice in one sitting and she sat entranced.
Pete the cat is a criminally irresponsible babysitter. All five of these bunnies suffer terrible bodily harm under his watch. The second one injured has to wear an eyepatch! The he preceded to left three other bunnies continue this reckless behavior. Finally once all five bunnies have been injured due to his neglect, some most likely permanently, he brings them all back for more bed jumping. This is Curious George levels of bad behavior. Pete the Cat should never be allowed near minors or rabbits.
A disappointing offering from the otherwise solid Pete the Cat series. Billed as an "adaptation" of the five little monkeys is simply switching bunnies for the monkeys...there's literally nothing else added. Could a new author get away with such a thing? No way I could get someone to publish "Five Little Kittens."
A blatant rip-off that is only available due to the celeb status of Pete and his friends. I expect more.
Children will enjoy this cute take on the well-known "Five Little Monkeys" song. It was a bit more intense than I anticipated, though, because it appears one of the bunnies lost an eye. Good read-aloud for 2-4 y/o.
Pete the Cat is babysitting and five little bunnies recreate the mayhem previously acted out by 5 little monkeys.
I'm not sure Pete or the bunnies learned their lesson based on the last page. I think I'd have made those bunnies sleep on the floor. Oh well, kids will think it is hilarious.
Pete the Cat is bunny sitting when the bunnies begin to jump on the bed. In the rendition of the classic five little monkeys Pete the Cat mashes it up as the bunnies continue to hop.
Literally just 5 Little Monkeys with different illustrations and bunnies instead of monkeys. But E loves the original and Pete the Cat, so it was definitely a hit!
Such a cute spring read- our Story Time kids loved it, and they love interacting with it because it’s so sequential and predictable - a familiar nursery rhyme with a twist of fun, colorful bunnies
