➳Insta-love is always the specialty of AR, but this love story has gone to the next level of geekiness and romance that I am addicted to...

➳Jordan and Jay officially have a special place in my heart when it comes down to the whole inst-love romance. Starting off as friends because they cannot share their mutual feelings towards each other, Jordan and Jay have found a way to interact with so much tenderness and love. For Jordan, Jay is the one and only that he wants to spend every single free time he has with her and the rest of his life with. Though obstacles come in the way of their love, they both make their way towards each in a way that also brings joy to the rest of their environment.

➳I am not one who always likes so much drama in a story, especially for one that is by Alexa Riley, but the drama in this story was definitely something that kept everything balanced with the romance part of it all. The angst between Jay and Jordan is also present, but it diminishes once Jordan finally admits his feelings towards Jay.

➳We also get a more in depth insight of the previous characters in the series such as Oz and Mallory and their "post" honeymoon phase, but in reality their phase never stopped since Oz is addicted to her. Overall this is a romance story that can be described as different in comparison to the other short stories that AR has written and will keep writing, but it also has that same vibe of insta-love, alpha, possessive males who just want to devour their soul mate. Call me crazy but I love that about AR and I cannot wait to read more on their story. Thank you to Carina Press & Harlequin for sending me an ARC of this beauty!

Stalker, Stalker!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 🖤💜🤎💚💛
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌍
Character development: 😍😕🙃☺️

The heroine: Jay - works at Osborne Corporation, as Miles Osborne’s personal assistant. Jay is the guard dog outside Mile’s office and he couldn’t do without her. She does everything from handle incoming reports to tracking down people who aren’t doing their jobs.

The Hero(es): Jordan - works for Osborne Corporation in the security department. Jordan is the techie on the team. He can handle himself with a gun like the rest of the security team, but his main weapon is a computer. He is able to hack just about anything.

The story: Jordan and Jay work in the same office and go to lunch together every day. Jordan thinks he is in the friend zone with Jay and she is afraid of the same thing. They both want to move their relationship out of the friend zone but neither is quite sure how to do that.

In this book the Hero was a bit more gentle and deferential than the previous two books. Though he was still an Alpha male, and is nearly as big of a stalker as Miles and Captain from the first two books. He fell in love with Jay from their first meeting and he uses all the technology available to him in order to see Jay and find out everything about her.

The romance is very hot and as steamy as the first two books in this series. The narrators were the same in all three books. I really enjoyed these two narrators but I just thought it was a bit weird having the same two narrators for all three books in the series when each book is about a different couple. But that didn’t bother me much.

The only thing I did dislike was that some of the flowery happy people stuff was said over and over. Like about how much they loved each other, how Jay was so happy to be included in Jordan’s family since she didn’t grow up in a family like that.

Other than that, the book was very good. There was a side story which included some mystery, intrigue and a real psycho stalker.

4.5/5 ⭐️.

Alexa Riley does know how to write MAN GOALS!
I love Jordan. He’s so much more “okay” and less possessive then the Oz and Ryan (love then btw), I was a bit surprise, because AR man’s are usually over the top jealous but in a good way.
I adore Jay.
And omg this book is so funny!!😂
I will read anything AR writes.
I’m addicted to every single book of her’s.

“I should have sent something cool and called her “babe” or “sweetheart.” Something. Anything. But instead I sent an old man from Star Wars as a token of my love.
This is why I’ll remain single forever”

Jordan Chen is a gorgeous, single guy from Brooklyn who works for a company called Osbourne Corporation where he’s the head of the technology department, and works as a security expert monitoring the building. He’s the man behind the scenes securing everyone’s safety. He’s never been in a serious relationship or found someone he’s really into, until he meets the beautiful Jay Rose. He wants Jay to see him as more than just a coworker. He doesn’t want to scare her off by how much he feels for her, but he’s tired of being locked in the friend zone. He absolutely aches to touch her, & make her his in every way. He decides to finally make his move.

Jay is surprised and flattered when the hot security guy at her work takes an interest in getting to know her. She thought he was only interested in friendship, and is totally shocked when she learns he really likes her. As their relationship grows into something more, Jay suddenly becomes a target as her life is put in danger. Jordan will do anything to protect her and take care of her.

-God, I didn’t know kissing could be like this, that you could feel so connected to someone and so easily get lost.

“You make me feel like your whole world. You let everything go and fall into me.”

-“I’ve been yours before you ever knew it.”

-I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.

-“When it comes to me and you and the way I feel about you, nothing could be simpler.”

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a friends-to-lovers insta love romance. Jordan falls hard and fast, and that’s it for him. He’s this super alpha, big guy with a soft side. Once he’s found the one he’s all in, and completely addicted to his lady. She’s his everything.

It's Live!!

It was really great to get back into the world of the Osbourne Corp....Miles, Mallory, Paige and Captain. I loved getting a glimpse of them again. They were a great cast of characters and Jordan and Jay (I continually mixed them up) were a great addition.

HERO~ Jordan - sweet, protective and alpha. He knew the moment that he saw Jay that she was his future. Knowing he couldn't fail, he incorporated himself into her life, quickly landing himself in the friends zone- or so he thought

HEROINE~ Jay was a great heroine. She was Miles' assistant and was known as a bulldog. Not many liked her because she was the gateway to the boss. To my relief, she was nothing like that. She was kind and quiet. She had a crush on Jordan but didn't know how to proceed. She stepped up and was strong when it was needed, but she wasn't alpha in any way. I thought she had a great balance.

SEXUAL HISTORY~ both were virgins

OM/OW DRAMA ~ Zero

STEAM plenty of steam

VIOLENCE some violence

SECONDARY CHARACTERS Great secondary characters that I'm hoping may get their own story. Summer, Jay's sister and McCoy who is Jordan's coworker.

ENDING~ Good epilogue 2 months and then 5 years later

Alexa Riley is the go to writing duo when you’re looking for something short, sassy, angst free and with scorching heat. Claimed fits the bill perfectly. Longer than their quickies, this one has a bit of drama and mystery as well as suspense included. There is still plenty of insta-everything but this time there’s a friendship that developed before either of these characters showed their feelings.

Jay is smart and independent. She works hard and doesn’t back down when confronted by a problem or someone out to harm her. Jordan is a computer whiz and he stalks her via the security feeds at their place of work. He doesn’t try to hide the fact and Jay kind of likes that he does so.
Together this couple were so sweet and charming. Their chemistry was steaming and their possessiveness in regards to each other was equal. While the mystery might not have been all that mysterious, it added depth to what was a very enjoyable read.

I read AR to get out of my head, refresh my reader’s palate and satisfy my need for a sweet h, an alpha H, lots of heat, an HEA, and babies. Mission accomplished.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Carina Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What the everloving fuck was I thinking?

DNF @ 33%.

Forget about Romancelandia or Smutlandia. This was Virginlandia of 20+ somethings mixed with atrocious writing and laughable characterisation.

I was doubtful; I knew the chances were low, but I thought 'What the heck, maybe they've learned from their first full-length novel and have at least developed writing skills that go beyond fan-fiction.' I apologise to all those who can write good fan-fiction. Claimed is not it, however. I'm so unlucky with that title, it's becoming a joke.

Well, my friends. Never. Ever. Again.

Jordan and Jay were such a cute couple! We got the overly possessive, stalking Hero in Jordan that Alexa Riley is known for but he was also a bit shy at first. I was surprised to see our main couple have a normal, fumbling and nervous start to their relationship. They were adorable!

I'm not sure if shy is the right word I should use for Jordan. His and Jay's start to their relationship had him come off as the IT nerd who can't make a complete sentence in front of Jay, which puts him in the friend zone at first. In the background we get that protective but stalkerish Hero we all expect from AR. He's in IT, he's got access to everything. Enough said.

Jay comes off as the confident one until Jordan makes the move out of the friend zone. Then Jay becomes the nervous klutz and it was adorable! Their first date should have been a complete disaster but all Jordan cares about is being with Jay. Once Jay gets threatened, then his caveman really comes out!

I've always wanted longer books from this author. This is my first full length book of Alexa Riley and it didn't disappoint! I have not read the first two books in the series...yet, but you don't need to to be able to read this one. They are all standalone books that carry over some of the same characters. YAY! More For Her series and more Alexa Riley full length goodness!!!

I can’t express how giddy I got when AR announced they would be giving us this couple. After the first two amazing books in this series, closing the main couples’ story, I was sad to think His Alone would be the last of the series, because all the secondary characters sounded so good, I was praying these ladies would give us every single one of their stories and continuing the series. Well, looks like I got my wish! ;)

Jordan and Jay start out as friends but Jordan reached his limit of hiding his true feelings, and decides it’s time to show Jay that she is his ONE since the very first moment they met.

This isn’t a friend thing. It’s real. I’m going to make her mine. Well, make her know she’s mine. To me she’s been mine from the first time I saw her.

Jordan is without a doubt one of my all time favorite AR heroes! Sure we get the full on possessive, protective and OTT alpha, Alexa Riley’s trade mark, but Jordan just show ssuch vulnerability, pure heart, and even a bit of insecurity, that just made me melt and connect even more with his character. You know how much I adore a scarred H! And a virgin, that has been saving himself for his forever girl! TRIPLE SCORE!!!

“That’s pretty sexist to assume men can’t be virgins.” He leans down, giving me a kiss and then rubs his nose against mine. “Maybe you’re not the only one who’s been waiting for the right one.”

This is the reason I never went for second-best. “I’m grateful that my first time was with you and that it means something. Because I know it means something to you, too.”

Jay was the perfect woman for him, in every way, confident and always in control, she need the devotion and care that only someone like Jordan would give her, as he needed the softness and love that she gave only to him. Their disastrous and clumsy date incidents just made them truly adorable together. They were each other first and last in every, and PERFECT for one another!

Everything I do is for her. Her needs will always come before mine.

I’m telling her that this is it for me. She’s my future, along with whatever comes out of our lovemaking.

Claimed was such a extraordinary addition to the For Her series, one of my all time fav series, a perfect balance of sweetness, love and romance, a lot of steam and a bit of suspense added to hit just the right spot. It was perfect!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

“We’re not on a timeline. We do things our way and at our own pace. I’ve known you for a long time. And I knew from the moment we met we’d get to this point.” I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “You’ve been mine since the beginning. I laid claim to you long ago.”

“You’re not the kind of woman that gets one night. You’re worth a lifetime.”

I absolutely LOVE IT when the ladies of Alexa Riley gives us a full-length novel! It feels like freaking Christmas when it shows up on my kindle! In CLAIMED, book #3 in their For Her Series, we get Jordan and Jay’s beautiful friends-to-lovers romance. Now, if you know Alexa Riley’s work, then you know it is a friends-to-lovers romance on CRACK because it happens INSTANTLY! Insta-love at its finest, folks!

If you are a fan of this series then this is the happily ever after you’ve been waiting for! If you’re a newbie, don’t fret! This can totally be read as a standalone, but once you get a taste, there is no going back!

CLAIMED checked off all of my boxes when it comes to the genre, and of course, it has the familiar Alexa Riley flair! It’s SUPER SEXY, SUPER SWEET, and SUPER SWOONY! I couldn’t put it down!

4.5 stars

I often struggle with Alexa Riley's longer book. For me they, seem to lack the chemistry that their shorter reads have however I thought this writing duo did a great with Claimed.

Jordan is probably one of the sweetest Alpha males you're going to read. He's a bear when He has to be but a softie when he wants to be. He has strong family values which started with his parents, specifically his Pops. It's evident that his father is still in love with his mom long after she passed away.

Jay and her sister Summer didn't have a conventional childhood. Their parents were not overly affectionate or parental. Jay had raised Summer and herself and kept order in a world filled with chaos. This carried her though adulthood. She keeps order as an executive assistant at Osborn Corp.

The beginning was a bit slow as these two dance around each other but I found this slow build helped solidify their relationship. They quickly turn their friendship into something more. These two inexperienced lovers definitely brought the cute. They also had a hand in creating a circle of friends and family that were always the to help and support them.

The suspense is laced throughout the book which helps keep the story interesting. It wasn't over the top but enough to keep you interested.

The final chapter of this book is what sealed my like for this adorable couple!

Is it odd to say that it was refreshing to have Jordan also be a virgin? I’m kind of tired of always reading books and the woman are always the virgin.

"That’s pretty sexist to assume men can’t be virgins." He leans down, giving me a kiss and then rubs his nose against mine. "Maybe you’re not the only one who’s been waiting for the right one."

Another fabulous insta-love romance by Alexa Riley!!!! Claimed is the third book in the for her series. Jordan and Jay had great chemistry and a HEA. Jay was a strong and sassy heroine. Jordan is a OTT alpha male and was so sweet to Jay. As always the epilogues in Alexa Riley books were Steller.

I'm giving this 3.5 ⭐
I usually enjoy AR full length books more than the short, and this was no exception. I'm pretty sure AR gets away with a level of cheesiness that I don't let slide with other authors simply because it's all so obviously over the top that I can't help but get a kick out of it. My only big complaint with this is that about 3 or 4 times I came across a sentence that was so similar in meaning and structure to another that it pushed me me out of "Fantasyland" and straight into "Editing Police". It was irritating and eyeroll enducing.
Over all it was cute and sweet and fun.

3.5 ⭐

Sweet and hot.

Jordan (H) and Jay (h) have been working together for months and have also become friends. Though they've never gone past the friend zone, they're secretly crushing on each other. Then Jordan made the decision to take his girl for good, and it was so sweet to read about how he won her over.

I liked how devoted the characters were to one another and how patient they were in waiting for the right one. Hence, the dual virgin trope. ❤️

Heart-pounding suspense was another aspect of this that I enjoyed, but I'm glad that it was resolved quickly. Though I have to say, that 48 hours was quite traumatizing.

The ending of the book was not hurried, and it was ridiculous to witness Jordan's continued OTT possessiveness toward Jay. This mindset, I suppose, is here to stay. 😂

Regardless, the storyline was interesting to me, though it dragged in some places. Besides, when they finally did the deed, the rest of the story was nearly entirely about them going at it.

While other things are still ongoing, these seemed more like an afterthought. The romance between Jay and Jordan is, I guess, the main focal point of the story. It was almost too sweet and turned like a cheesefest towards the end, but it was still bearable. 😂

Overall, I had fun with it. I know I can always count on these authors' books to provide me comfort, and this one did not disappoint.

This is the third story in the For Her series and they are all intertwined so we get moments with the previous characters too. However, this is Jordan and Jay’s story.

Jay is the PA for Miles at the Osbourne Corporation. She is very dedicated to her job, excels in detail and is very much in control of her life. When she meets Jordan for the first time there is an instant spark.

Jordan works in security for the Osbourne Corporation and once he lays eyes on Jay he decides that she is his. Now he is just biding his time until he makes his move. She is the girl he has been waiting for his whole life and once she realises it too he can move forward with his plans for a future with her.

Of course, this would just be too easy if things fall into place like that! Jay’s attention for detail backfires on her when she discovers something dodgy. She is now in danger and his means that anyone else in her life is also at risk. So we go from sweet and sexy to suspense in this fast paced story.

This has all the elements that I have come to expect from Alexa Riley and there is always a time and place in my reading plans for a book that offers me escapism from every day life ☺

Well.

Already I'm on a huge reading slump, so I thought maybe Alexa Riley will get me out it. But Nopes. This one was boring.
It has all the AR elements.
'He has eyes only for her'
'Possessive Hero'
'Insta-love but friends to lovers'
.....with some suspense.
If you liked AR's previous books from "For Her" series then maybe this one is for you.
For me?
No.
Also the characters names were confusing. It came to the point that I didn't knew who is who. Jordan....Jay...??
Both of their POV sounded similar.

"Claimed" is the story of Jay and Jordan.
Somehow I ended up missing that the 'For Her' series had a third novella, and this is the story of Miles's secretary and security consultant.
A full length AR goodie with
-a super obsessive, stalkery, devoted virgin hero
-a sweet, quirky, kind virgin heroine
-Insta attraction leading to compulsive love
-Gentle lovemaking
-some drama and threats
-HEA with extended epilogues

Preface

Extremely sweet. I was not exactly enjoying the couple at the beginning; I’m glad I pushed through. The H and h were adorable. And the spice was 🔥.

Of course, some parts of it were ludicrous as with any of these type of romances. I had to keep from rolling my eyes at a few over the top moments ex: bracelet with a tracker and microphone? The H better be getting one of those too. If they both agree to be crazy, it better be equally crazy. Controlling guys like this are only feasible in books because in real life I just know the guy would be tracking her so he could:
A) cheat anytime he wants.
B) control who she talks with.
C) murder her once the passion wears out.

😂

RATINGS:

Plot : 1 📚 Dust in the wind. Of course the heroine gets kidnapped? What were you even thinking?

World Building(Immersion): 1.5 🌎💫 Submerged my feet.

Angst : 1 👹 Being bitten by a mosquito.

Funniness: 1 🌝 There was a joke, but I didn’t even twitch.

Scariness: ❎ Not scary.

Romance: 2.5 💖💖💫 more of insta-love which I hate, but the hero gave fundamentals to his obsession. Still crappy but manageable.

Spice: 3.5 🌶🌶🌶💫 Blushing potential

Goriness: 1.5 🫀💫 Description blood and wounds +some mild violence.

Sadness: ❎ No sadness.

Overall star rating : 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Enjoyable but there were somethings that fell flat.

🚨🚨🚨MILD SPOILERS 🚨🚨🚨

The Good Place:
▫️The spice. It was good.
▫️The humor was fine too. DIDNT make me laugh but it definetky made me entertained.

The Bad Place:
▪️The safety talks fome the H. No condoms? Ever? He better get a vasectomy then. Poor h is about to have 12 thousand children.

Romance Safety:
Dual virgins. No OW drama. There is a scene about a painting class where the H and h we at unawares. It was a nude study and the hero said and I quote: “Sorry, but the only cock either of us is looking at tonight is mine.” Therefore I would not exactly call that OM drama. The H is kidnapped and the guy wanted her. She is saved in time. They are both obsessed with each other. Epilogue is all very happy with them having quality time while their daughters hang out with grandpa.

Claimed is the third book in Alexa Riley’s For Her series, but you do not need to have read Everything for Her or His Alone to understand this one. It’s clear who the couples are from the prior books, and you will be interested in knowing more about their stories, but they are not necessary for you to understand Claimed.

As Alexa Riley is an author I’m constantly seeing, I keep telling myself to read more of the author’s books. Prior to Claimed I had only read a single Alexa Riley book, Beauty in Winter, the fourth book in the Beauty series where four authors offered up Beauty and the Beast novellas; however, I’ve had other Alexa Riley books sitting on my Kindle waiting to be read, such as Mechanic. Having read and enjoyed Claimed, I’ll certainly be diving into the couple of books sitting on my Kindle.

From the start of this one I was sucked into the story, desperately turning pages to see how things turned out. There was plenty within this story to keep you interested, from entertaining moments between the main characters to suspenseful scenes. I’ll admit that some of the suspense scenes were not as developed as I would have liked them to be, but this is simply a reflection of how I am a big fan of romantic suspense where things are much more edge of the seat. Overall, though, the story was super gripping.

My issue, however, was with our male lead. There were plenty of times where I felt uncomfortable within this one due to the behaviour of our male lead. He made me feel uncomfortable with his stalker-like ways, and the way the behaviour was brushed off did not sit right with me. I know some people enjoy these kinds of elements, but I felt really unnerved by some of his behaviour. I did consider dropping my rating because of this, but in the end I decided to keep my rounded up to four stars rating because the story was really addictive.

Overall, I enjoyed this one. I wasn’t completely happy with it, but it was a fun book to dive into.

Oh Alexa Riley... I love you. Claimed is one of those books that just makes me happy. Jay and Jordan are both delightfully weird and awkward which made them so relatable! They both long for the other but have NO idea how to make a move. Its adorable.

Jordan has a close relationship with his father and I found that enchanting. I like stories that feature functional families and strong bonds. I loved that Jordan and Jay were both virgins! I know, everyone is over the virgins, but I think its sweet and adorable. Jordan and Jay both embraced their weird. From awkward dates with stinky horses to knocking heads together, they are just adorably awkward. For you office romance fans, you will love the interactions between Jordan and Jay in the office! Its where they met and build their friendship, but its also where their relationship progresses!

There was a great deal of danger too! I wasn't expecting that and I loved it!! The plot twist was engaging for sure, and I loved that it brought out a new side to Summer. Jay deserved to see Summer grow up for sure. While the actual villains were not a surprise, the events keep you on the edge of your seat for sure.

Claimed is everything I love about Alexa Riley and more! I love suspense and danger, so to get the over the top romance and the drama and danger was like a dream come true!

Another great installment in there "For Her" series. In this part, we have Jay's and Jordan's storyline and let me say that once again AR nailed it delivered romance at its if I can put it that way.

This part had a different vibe from what we've used to both characters struggled to admit their feelings to each other, creating suspense and some angst... I was screaming in my head and my heart was to tearing apart by these two stubborn people.

Jordan is a possessive hero with a shy personality, who by the way I fell in love from the beginning, the perfect match for Jay's sassy talkative sweet character.

Their chemistry overflowed from the pages and it was really enjoyable reading their conversations. A sweet highlight of this story is that both are virgins (!!)

The book contains some steamy, hot scenes in the pace develops steadily, another big bonus is the appearance of the previous characters of the two previous stories. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this story and of course the series and I can't wait to read their next creation!

I’m a big fan of this series and I enjoyed reading this book. Jay and Jordan both have feelings for each other but thinks they are both in the friend zone so to speak. One day Jordan has enough and in typical Alexa Riley, alpha male status he shows how he really feels about Jay. This story had a suspense element which I loved and I wish Jay would have told Jordan sooner about the threats. Last I checked he was the head of security and I would have told him the moment I got the first threat. I also loved the family vibe and pop up from previous characters. It was nice to catch up with the gang. The writing was solid and the plot held my attention. I LOVE the full length novels from this author and I hope they continue with them in the future.

I'm liking the full length novels in this series. It's what you come to expect from Alexa Riley but just an extended version. You've got the usual possessive, alpha male and the cute, damsel in distress heroine and the insta-everything. Although this time there was a buildup while the male MC got himself out of the friend zone. An enjoyable read all in all.
