Kayden experiences many new things now that he's no longer a slave. See snippets of his life in this book containing 13 short stories that occur in the year between Tears of the Neko and its sequel, Blood of the Neko.
This book is a series of short stories based on the characters from Tears of the Neko. It is NOT one long, continuous story. Each chapter is its own short snippet, a glimpse into the lives of the characters from Tears of the Neko. Many of them are humorous and funny, some are more serious.
Join Kayden as he learns to ride, discovers just how far to push the chef, and attends his first wedding.
This book is best read after Tears of the Neko, as the stories in it are based on the characters introduced there. It is not necessary to read this book before reading the second full length book--Blood of the Neko.

A collection of several short, prompted stories showing more of Kayden's playful, mischievous nature. His funny situations and interactions with the complementary MCs from Tears of the Neko. A delight!!!
I liked seeing the short stories about Kayden and the others. Most of them were pretty funny, but a couple had me almost crying too. It's worth the read if you've read the first book. I think the wedding cake one is my favorite...
It was different from the other two books in that this is a bunch of short stories that sort of fill in the gaps between the two books. I can see where you wouldn't need to read it to be able to understand the second book, but some of them were pretty funny, at least imo.
