A chartered psychologist in my other life, I enjoy writing about ordinary people in unusual situations, or unusual people struggling to fit in. My style is light, but even in humorous stories, there is always a dark edge.
Historical fiction: a trilogy set in WWII told from the perspective of a young boy. A Relative Invasion. Book 1, Intrusion, Book 2 Infiltration out in paperback and ebooks. Amazon Ratings 4.8 and 5.0 . Book 3 Impact to follow late 2016.

Crime Shorts, a series. No. 1, updated, new cover. A boy with potential, no. 2, Homed, no. 3 Not Her Fault. Kindle only.
Two other novels (psychological dramas) are in the editing stage.
My other interests are Fine Art, Architecture, Dance and my hobby is sculpture. There's a similarity between creating characters in writing and creating forms in three dimensions or ‘cutting them down to size’.
The avatar stands instead of an author headshot. It saucily re-works Picasso's girl to show a word processor rather than a mirror. The two faces represent my serious and irreverent sides, the observer/recorder and the internal/external selves.
On Amazon I review literary and historical fiction, world literature in translation, children's books and some non-fiction. No dystopia, vampire, chicklit. When I like something, I take trouble to promote it.
I have two blogs: the quirky Me-Time Tales, and characterfulwriter, about the process of writing, where I also review.
I read this via NetGallery and this was a very unusual book with lots of stories within the main storyline. A lot of unanswered questions but looks like this book is going to be book one of a series. I was left very confused with the ending. Overall a okay book but not a favourite and I gave it my best.

1⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an advanced copy of What He Needed To Know.
Terry has a very mundane and normal life with a steady job and a wife. Then one day he sees a man that looks just like him. He approaches him and they chat and realize they are identical twins. They were adopted when they were young to different families. He cannot wait to tell his wife but she seems not to care and she starts acting very odd. Terry starts to envy his twins life and he finds out his wife has been keeping secrets of her own from him.
This book was just plain weird. I was not a fan at all. It looks to be the first book in a series and I will not be reading the others.
I am aware that most books offered by Netgalley are pre final edits but this was so badly edited and as it was a rerelease this should not have been the case. The writing was so juvenile it was like it was written by a 13 year old. Awful, just awful.
I seriously can believe any publisher has let this thing be published. What the fuck was Leon talking about about half the time? What the fuck was Terry doing most of the time? He's a fucking freak.
I'm appalled I wasted as long of my time on such a piece of shit.
God, I'm sorry to sound so mean but I feel let down that Netgalley are offering this out to people.
This book was my first by this author. It is advertised as a slow burn psychological thriller. It was a bit hard to get into and the storyline and character development could have been better. It didn’t grab me and made it a slow going read.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is a character driven psychological tale with mystery, insecurity, (of the main character, Terry,) and hiding the truth making things an almighty mess at its heart. It is a slow burn but it is well plotted and engaging. The build up to the ending is wow. And there's more... for Gudrun and Terry, a book 2.
As the author describes, this is a slow burn of psychological suspense. A real page turner. I couldn't put the book down and what a cliff hanger to end on. I now need to find out about Terry and Gudrun's fate in book 2!
