This book is the reason why I have trust issues.

While I didn’t enjoy every single one of her books except for EOS / deception / GOP / GOWRATH. truth must be said that I’m rarely bored, All the books that I hated? I ate them up in a few hours. Bc RK as an author is a lot of things but boring is rarely one of them! so Imagine my surprise when it took me a FULL DAY to finish this!!! I’m a fast reader so that’s a lot for me, I thought that GOR was her most boring book. And Don’t get me wrong it still is, But GOWAR can give it a run for its money.
I just wanted a little energy to face this disaster. I was looking at that 70% mark with tears in my eyes, I put the book down so many time and just sigh. I just wanted it to be over already The thing is, The book started off strong, Ava being a baddie, Eli being hot. she kept being stubborn, spent his money, broke his Bugatti, refusing to obey him. I was like fuck yeah this book gonna eat. It did… It ate my brain cells.
Where was the issue? Eli being bland as fuck for starters, I seriously thought that I’ll be stunned with THE ELI KING even tho despise all the kings. Not Brandon and Cray tho. I loved cray cray so I had hopes for Eli. Not just that But because I also hated/dislike nearly all the siblings in the Rinaverse Let’s go through them:
Astrid x Nicole = let’s hope Astrid die.
Elsa x Teal x knox = boring and surface level.
Aurora x Alicia = tainted.
Jonathan x James = they hate each other.
Asher x Arianna = let’s not talk about it.
Reina x Rai = jealousy at first until they grew up.
Naomi x mio = barley there.
Kirill x Konstantin x Karina = pfft
Killian x Gareth = are they even brothers?
Glyndon x Brandon x Landon = messy at best.
Ava x Arielle = cute.
Nikolai x maya x Mia = great until rina’s misogyny showed.

I only love Jeremy and Annika and I consider them the superior siblings alongside Creigh and Eli, for me these two duos where the only ones who had a GREAT siblings relationship, So since I loved GOP and GOW. I realy thought I will love this one But of course i didn’t because God forbid rina make me happy.
Writing was horrible! To The people who read the entire Rinaverse, is it just me or did the writing drastically changed from the all the previous books and LOG? It feels like another author wrote LOG. And while the previous was bad, fast paced and require no brain cells? I enjoyed it bc it was so bingeable and easy. This BS however? No. It’s insufferable that she’s trying to sound poetic. And especially in GOR when she threw every word in the dictionary just to make Landon sound smart.

Ava being an alien Lead to another problem. This whole fucking shenanigans of making Ava 2.0 of Alicia and Helen and Abigail. Rina really, I mean really should stop making complexes FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IT IS NOT OKAY. It’s boring, repetitive, tedious, stupid.
And oh! Very much laughable.
I called it months ago when I said this will be silver and Cole 2.0 But OGs did it better.
Ava love Elsa like silver loved Helen, Ava promised Eli her firsts, they both ruin every relationship the other gets into just like silver and Cole did in high school. she also added the generational trauma by giving a whole bloodline (Jonathan, Aiden, Eli) woman with mental illnesses.
Or the fact that Cole told silver he’s scared Ava will turn like Helen just like Asher told Reina he’s scared killian will turn like Arianna. But for her to make them the cheap ass copy of ADRIAN AND LIA? Stop this madness cuz no one will ever compare to them. Rina 100% believe that her books are meaningless and forgettable because she copy paste every single one.

And honestly I wouldn’t expect creativity from an author who publish this much books a year:

Only 5 girls in her universe are brunettes, 2 were ginger and the rest are all blondes! Even cecy who is a Burnett have been dyeing her hair silver all her life, And as for the virgin part? Out of 20 FMCs only 5 are non-virgins.

Every single girl is a virgin. You know why? Bc they are powerful men and they need pure, innocent, and inexperienced girls, while her men are the epitome of manwhores. They fucked every thing. every one. Every object. Every gender. Probably even animals. but in GOF both MCs we’re non virgins, Why you ask? Bc they’re both men, ofc they’re secure and proud and tried things with men and women While the girls are always clueless. It got to point where even those 5 non-virgin girls half of them have never orgasmed before they meet their respective MMC, like when teal came for the first time just bc Ronan touched her her nipples or when Aurora at the age of 27 never orgasmed before except when Jonathan spanked her. So Ava is your typical type of a RK girl, Our fears came true and she is a virgin, she also needs a good slap on the face after all those “prude” comments she made about cecy while being one herself, I saw a review once where someone said this series should me named (legacy of virgins) and I couldn’t agree more!
She kept getting in so many rocks in her career with cello. Why? Bc she’s a girl, Of course she will struggle and she will have problems, and she will be weak and walk out of stage bc of panic attacks while her men are always strong and work under pressure, the same way she made Brandon and Landon so talented but not Glyn, the same way she made kirill and konstantine powerful but their sister was insane, just like when Rai couldn’t be pakhan. Reason? Bc she’s a women (not my words! Kirill’s. which are the author’s) same thing where Mia and maya wanted nothing with the bratva but their Dumbass brother will Rule instead, i shouldn’t have been surprised with Niko since his dad jump from the windows like a monkey bc apparently doors are boring (i feel bad for Rai’s efforts for the sokolov empire) all you bitches who compare niko to Damien, I’ll hunt you and slit your throats in your sleep. the point is RK make girls face so many issues with their work but her MMCs do wonders even while facing the worst bc she just despise women.
Ava’s villain arc
Ava: *That’s it! he’s my number one public enemy*
Ava reminded me of (Gwen) you can see in my empire of desire review that Gwen is basically my least favorite FMC by RK. And while Ava was diff from her in some things she still reminded me of the brat behavior that Gwen had. When will authors understand that they can write a spoiled/sunshiny FMC but make her strong at the same time? Ava embodied the brat FMC type in an overwhelmingly annoying manner. Her attempts at making us believe she’s 'badass' were hilarious. The introduction of amnesia and mental illness seems more like a convenient excuse to gather sympathy rather than genuine character development. She kept Associating herself with bad-influence people while being aware of it and than wonder why Eli and Jermey said she’s acting like a kid depending on cecy all her life. And she didn’t stop there. Ava want children and That’s cool. But it’s not cool when you repeat it a thousand fucking time, Her whole purpose was wanting children, I don’t have a problem with a character wanting kids but I can’t stand it when you force it one me every chapter.

Ava meanwhile : *eat candy, play dress up, read novels, watch movies, get Eli jealous*
she miserably failed to exhibit any growth or responsibility, she showed just little regard for those who express concern for her well-being. And while I do acknowledge her mental illness, it does not justify her recklessness or childish acts. And I’m so so sick and tired of the plot where the FMC suffer her entire life until she meet the MMC and he heals her magically with the power of “sex” and “love”, this stupid trope happened with Glyn, cecy, Mia and now Ava And that’s me only talking about second gen. First gen you ask? You got it. same BS happened with Astrid / Elsa / Kim / teal / silver / Reina / Naomi / Gwen / Nicole. They all suffered mentally until them met the MMC. And talking about suffering mentally isn’t she tired of writing suicidal characters? Kim, Reina, Gwen, Glyn, bran, Lia and now Ava?!
I also have beef with the blurb, You see Rina love to put things in the blurb that never happen in the book. It happened a lot, an example at the top of my head was in GOP and while I love that book, it’s actually my second favorite in LOG, I hated that in the blurb Annika said (i’m Creighton‘s worst enemy) now a lot of people will believe it’s enemies to lovers but it wasn’t at all, Another one in GOR (If he hits, I hit back, twice as hard and with the same hostility) No Mia. You were a weak mouse just like Landon love to call you.
In the blurb of GOWAR rina made it sound like Ava will hurt Eli back or something, and not just that but Ava kept repeating it in the book.
Is the revenge in the room with us?
Where the fuck did she do something bad to him? And please don’t say the stabbing bc that was one of her mental episodes and before she set her sights on revenge (the revenge that didn’t happen btw)

Would you believe me if I said that this MF was more boring than Lan and Asher and nate? Because believe it or not For me he was. And that’s like the worst thing I could say. Even Aiden and Jonathan who I disliked held me more than Eli.
character development? Who? I don’t know her. he falls flat, offering only a superficial glimpse into his personality. Lacking depth and complexity, he failed to captivate me even a little, With a personality that barely scratches the surface, he is a forgettable presence to the narrative, dimming the overall story. Eli managing king and steel corporation? Such a good fun joke, all he did was being emo/ growl that Ava is his/ tell her that she’s dressed like a “stripper” or “begging for attention”.
Even the so-not-great things he did for her were horribly written against him. We didn’t see his past pov doing them or how he felt. we only heard about it from cecy!
He gets pointers for not calling Ava a “hole” tho bc every single previous MMC called his partner “hole” “fuck toy” or my personal favorite “little cum bucket” But don’t worry he didn’t leave me bothered bc he called his previous sex partners a hole, god bless him for a second I almost called the imposter police.
Eli obviously like the rest of them have a black soul that’s as cold as his office and he can’t feel and he’s a sociopath on the spectrum, he’s really scary guys.
Guys fun fact about me is that in my free time I always learn about psychology, And let’s just say RK’s image of psychopaths/sociopaths doesn’t do them justice. Not even surface justice. I bet she googled (signs of psychopathic children) and she saw that one of them is torturing animals and applied that shit to killian-Eli-lan bc they caught mice and wanted to see inside it, I hoped them rusty kids got the plague and died from it, I hit a bird and buried it when I was 10.

Now comes the relationship:
The relationship between Eli and Ava is dull. They were uninteresting both individually and as a couple, lacking any real chemistry or excitement. Their constant on-off dynamic is tiresome, Ava's attempts to get him jealous through flirting with other men is so damn repetitive. Even their sex scenes failed to ignite any passion, I bet some couple in the fifties had more freaky nights than them. Why was the smut so lame and vanilla when this book is labeled as dark romance? I kid you not I skimmed the smut from how boring it was. Praise kink she said? Where?when??? y’all really consider the spice in this series unhinged? Bc I don’t, Not even a little bit. Killian kept saying that he have (animalistic urges) (Deep inside me lurks a serial killer with fucked-up fetishes) no there is NOT 😭 and with the way he love blood? I thought he’ll have a blood kink but every smut scene was missionary with Glyn. Sewers rat was supposed to be unhinged with kinks so deviant. So scandalous! Only for him to turn out more vanilla than killian. The only one who lived to his Sadist reputation was the hottie Creighton.
I also want to add that Ava was the one who said “I love you” first. I made a folder in my notes and I tracked that in all of her book the FMC is the one who always say it first. Except in Ronan’s book. GOWAR continues to be just like the rest with a weak FMC, mean MMC who say they’re enemies But fuck and fall in love within the 30% mark.
Now comes the plot:
I really thought it was going to be something big Because Rina loves her twisted plot twists, and especially when ava saw Helen i though that what if Helen never died? And she came back for Ava bc she look like silver? I’m sure y’all know why if you’ve read ruthless empire. bc Why mention Helen when it was just a hallucination? It was so random to point of stupidity. I also thought that maybe Ava’s guy friends did something. but to give me THAT PLOT OF NOTHING? It was the lamest plot rina have ever wrote, I can’t believe the words as I type them. It’s so messy and it seemed she threw it in just to be like *Eli killed for ava* and make her repetitive conflict out of nowhere… I wish she kept that childhood crush to lovers trope. I also couldn’t believe my eyes that Eli is the villain in this book and not a woman!!! There’s a pattern that I noticed is that 90% of the villains in her stories are all women.
And now comes the weak fake ass bitch friend Glyn. I knew Glyn don’t like the girls from her book, it’s common sense atp that she ditched them the moment she saw ✨killian greasy Carson✨ Thank you cecy for being the angle that you are mwah. She helped Ava a lot. But I couldn’t believe that Glyn didn’t help Ava with even words… Plz jump off a cliff with your greasy man thank you very much.

Ava reminded me of (Gwen) you can see in my empire of desire review that Gwen is basically my least favorite FMC by RK. And while Ava was diff from her in some things she still reminded me of the brat behavior that Gwen had. When will authors understand that they can write a spoiled/sunshiny FMC but make her strong at the same time? Ava embodied the brat FMC type in an overwhelmingly annoying manner. Her attempts at making us believe she’s 'badass' were hilarious. The introduction of amnesia and mental illness seems more like a convenient excuse to gather sympathy rather than genuine character development. She kept Associating herself with bad-influence people while being aware of it and than wonder why Eli and Jermey said she’s acting like a kid depending on cecy all her life. And she didn’t stop there. Ava want children and That’s cool. But it’s not cool when you repeat it a thousand fucking time, Her whole purpose was wanting children, I don’t have a problem with a character wanting kids but I can’t stand it when you force it one me every chapter.
Ava in the blurb : “I set out to investigate how I landed myself into this marriage”
Ava meanwhile : *eat candy, play dress up, read novels, watch movies, get Eli jealous*
she miserably failed to exhibit any growth or responsibility, she showed just little regard for those who express concern for her well-being. First gen you ask? You got it. same BS happened with Astrid / Elsa / Kim / teal / silver / Reina / Naomi / Gwen / Nicole. They all suffered mentally until them met the MMC. And talking about suffering mentally isn’t she tired of writing suicidal characters? Kim, Reina, Gwen, Glyn, bran, Lia and now Ava?!
I also have beef with the blurb, You see Rina love to put things in the blurb that never happen in the book. It happened a lot, an example at the top of my head was in GOP and while I love that book, it’s actually my second favorite in LOG, I hated that in the blurb Annika said (i’m Creighton‘s worst enemy) now a lot of people will believe it’s enemies to lovers but it wasn’t at all, Another one in GOR (If he hits, I hit back, twice as hard and with the same hostility) No Mia. You were a weak mouse just like Landon love to call you.
In the blurb of GOWAR rina made it sound like Ava will hurt Eli back or something, and not just that but Ava kept repeating it in the book.
“I’ll get revenge and destroy your life”
“I’m going to unleash all hell loose on the bastard”
“she will be so proud of me when I bring this prick down in an epic revenge comeback”

character development? Who? I don’t know her. he falls flat, offering only a superficial glimpse into his personality. Lacking depth and complexity, he failed to captivate me even a little, With a personality that barely scratches the surface, he is a forgettable presence to the narrative, dimming the overall story. Eli managing king and steel corporation? Such a good fun joke, all he did was being emo/ growl that Ava is his/ tell her that she’s dressed like a “stripper” or “begging for attention”.
Even the so-not-great things he did for her were horribly written against him. We didn’t see his past pov doing them or how he felt. we only heard about it from cecy!

The relationship between Eli and Ava is dull. They were uninteresting both individually and as a couple, lacking any real chemistry or excitement. Their constant on-off dynamic is tiresome, Ava's attempts to get him jealous through flirting with other men is so damn repetitive. Even their sex scenes failed to ignite any passion, I bet some couple in the fifties had more freaky nights than them. Why was the smut so lame and vanilla when this book is labeled as dark romance? I kid you not I skimmed the smut from how boring it was. Praise kink she said? Where?when??? y’all really consider the spice in this series unhinged? Bc I don’t, Not even a little bit. Killian kept saying that he have (animalistic urges) (Deep inside me lurks a serial killer with fucked-up fetishes) no there is NOT 😭 and with the way he love blood? I thought he’ll have a blood kink but every smut scene was missionary with Glyn. Sewers rat was supposed to be unhinged with kinks so deviant. So scandalous! Only for him to turn out more vanilla than killian. The only one who lived to his Sadist reputation was the hottie Creighton.
I also want to add that Ava was the one who said “I love you” first. I made a folder in my notes and I tracked that in all of her book the FMC is the one who always say it first. Except in Ronan’s book. GOWAR continues to be just like the rest with a weak FMC, mean MMC who say they’re enemies But fuck and fall in love within the 30% mark.
Now comes the plot:
I really thought it was going to be something big Because Rina loves her twisted plot twists, and especially when ava saw Helen i though that what if Helen never died? And she came back for Ava bc she look like silver? I’m sure y’all know why if you’ve read ruthless empire. bc Why mention Helen when it was just a hallucination? It was so random to point of stupidity. I also thought that maybe Ava’s guy friends did something. but to give me THAT PLOT OF NOTHING? It was the lamest plot rina have ever wrote, I can’t believe the words as I type them. It’s so messy and it seemed she threw it in just to be like *Eli killed for ava* and make her repetitive conflict out of nowhere… I wish she kept that childhood crush to lovers trope. I also couldn’t believe my eyes that Eli is the villain in this book and not a woman!!! There’s a pattern that I noticed is that 90% of the villains in her stories are all women.
And now comes the weak fake ass bitch friend Glyn. I knew Glyn don’t like the girls from her book, it’s common sense atp that she ditched them the moment she saw ✨killian greasy Carson✨ Thank you cecy for being the angle that you are mwah. She helped Ava a lot. But I couldn’t believe that Glyn didn’t help Ava with even words… Plz jump off a cliff with your greasy man thank you very much.

When I started God of Malice and I saw the tension between Ava and Eli I thought that this was going to be the best book in the log series and since this was the last one I thought that maybe by the time we reach here Rina's writing would improve as well 🤡 Rina has her ups and downs (mostly downs0 but there have been some really enjoyable works of her like GOP and GOW, Deception, BK....yeah thats about it lol but those are a proof that she can write enjoyable books when she wants too (unless she hired a ghostwriter) but her writing was terrible here which is weird because the first three LOG books were super enjoyable but the last three were a mess especially GOR and tbh despite how much I waited for it, I still had low expectations because I have a different standard of expectations for RK and even in that area it was low so I dont really now how she can mess up her 34th?? novel. It felt recycled which im sad about because GOF actually did not feel like that :( so I thought this would not either but 🤡 also not her messing up the marriage of convenience trope lmao like how can you mess that up!!! so safe to say, despite low expectations RK can still successfully disappoint you.
Ava Nash. October 28, 2024Saying goodbye to a series—or in this case, an entire universe filled with beloved characters—is always bittersweet, especially one that has taken up residence in my heart. I wasn’t ready to part ways just yet. Did the ending tie everything up neatly? Yes and no. While there were areas where I craved more, it still delivered what these characters truly deserved. Was it flawless? No, and that imperfection made it beautifully perfect, much like love itself. It highlighted the reality that love is hard; it requires dedication and sacrifice.
As always, the interactions between the characters were laced with humor, striking a balance between outright hostility and mutual respect. There was respect, albeit often begrudging, but the bonds of connection and friendship were palpable. This is what makes the author so exceptionally talented; the dynamics never feel forced or cheesy. I have a splitting headache right now. A fucking migraine, you guys. But I finally finished it!💪🏻 I think I deserve a cookie after this lol🤪 Seriously tho, I was so fucking bored while reading this book - to the point that I almost weeped while reading it. I'd like to thank Anitta and Little Mix because their songs got me through this book eventhough I don't listen to music usually while reading because it distracts me. Now, onto the important things...I disliked Eli. Severely. The way he was so derogatory and how he treated Ava like a fuck buddy despite her being his wife? Not cool bruh. And how desperate Ava was and the way she didn't have a backbone despite him not treating her right. Blech. It's no secret that I hate doormat heroines - even more so if they're virgins who's one and only is the hero who's whored around. The double standards and misogny was blatant in GOW, even more as compared to other books in this series. I hated the fact that Rina misled us by saying that Eli was obsessed with Ava since college when the quotes in this book basically implied that he'd slept with other women after she enrolled in uni. I mean...is the obsession in the room with us???😬 I just want to point out that these two stars are for the last 10% ONLY. I've seen so many people say that the way Eli made Ava's mental health worse is similar to the way Adrian manipulated Lia and drove her to almost kill herself. I gotta agree with that to an extent. While I wasn't as annoyed with Adrian as much, I found myself despising Eli. The whole "plot twist" and what happened in the past was kinda lame too imo. And for those of y'all that are saying that EliAva are nothing like AdrianLia and are way better...SHUT TF UP🤚🏻 At least my man Adrian NEVER looked at another woman after he first met Lia - he didn't even fathom getting with another woman even when Lia lied about cheating on him. Can you say the same for your man Eli?🤨 Overall, this was a VERY disappointing read and a TERRIBLE end to this series. Unfortunately, this whole book had me feeling nothing but confused, bored and annoyed. I had no idea what was going on most of the time, but I did know I couldn’t stand either of them. There was clearly no actual love between these two and I hated their ridiculously immature and vengeful behaviour towards each other. It sucked.
Really though, why on earth should I believe they had a genuine connection that was based on anything other than lust? I shouldn’t. Cus they didn’t. They didn’t like each other, they didn’t respect each other, they didn’t even really know each other. They just had this crazy sexual attraction towards each other that they mostly let out through hateful words but eventually also through the occasional intimacy in the bedroom. That’s not love. Far from it.
Also, I’m not sure why Rina Kent suddenly decided she wanted to try her hand at being a mystery writer or something, but she certainly doesn’t have the skills for it, so she should quit trying. The lack of clarity in the plot was nothing but frustrating and definitely far from intriguing.
Lastly, I’m not sure who decided it is a cool plot device to portray the hero as the most awful person in the whole world, only to reveal at the end that he had his own ridiculous “reasons” for acting like the devil, but I personally think it’s the worst and I see it happen way too often in books. This idiotic situation always means we have to sit through major episodes of arseholery during almost all of the book, just to eventually get a dumb reveal about how obsessed he really is? Please. It’s so tired.
In conclusion, this book is better left avoided. And if you are somehow still curious, I hope I can save you the trouble with this short summary:
The hero treats the heroine like a cold arsehole, while she consistently responds to that by behaving like a brat. He will shut her out, ignore her, act like he couldn’t care any less about her, but then he will still have random bursts of caveman possessiveness after which he immediately treats her like trash again. Meanwhile, she will do nothing but continue to embarrass herself with silly revenge plots trying to get his attention, mostly including idle threats about sleeping with other men. Oh, and of course she’s still a virgin while he has had sex with the entire female population.
There, that’s the whole plot. Sound fun to you? Go ahead and pick this up! But if it sounds as dreadful to you as it was for me? Then do yourself a favour and stay away.

THIS BOOK WOULD HAVE VERY WELL BEEN A 4 STAR READ AT THE VERY LEAST IF OUR MMC AND FMC DIDN'T EXIST. Eli and Ava should have stayed as the side characters that they were😚, this should have been remiari's / damienmio's book or a how about a fucking epilogue? Perfectly capturing the 'end of an era'.

The characters were about as endearing as a telemarketer, and the plot was about as suspenseful, romantic as watching paint dry. Eli and ava had the chemistry of a wet blanket with the sexual tension of a piece of broccoli. The plot? Only our darling Rina can plagiarize herself, eliava were a poorly made sequel trying to cash in on the original(adrianlia,reinaasher). 🥰

Rina poured her everything in this book and it shows. Wow. What a masterpiece. I thought GOWrath and GOF can’t be surpassed but Eli King singlehandedly took the top spot. I am speechless. I am in shambles. You guys are not prepared.

It’s been a few days since i read this and i still stand by my initial review. I loved everything about this book. It’s probably my second favorite Rina Kent book and my fav LOG book 💗 EliAva took me by surprise and they will be staying close to my heart forever.
Eli and Ava’s relationship is not your typical love story. Their love story is not sunshine and rainbows and it deals with heavier situations that both of them handled the way they thought they were doing right. Before they got married, Ava was obviously struggling with her psychosis and she used other outlets to deal with it and was basically self destructing to the point where sometimes she’ll end up in dangerous situations. Eli on the other had, used methods that he knew would help her avoid said situations. His approach was not the greatest and i would agree that it probably fueled more to Ava’s suffering but Eli was just doing what he thought was best for her at that time. He definitely loved her so much to the point where he starts losing himself. All he wanted was to give her a chance at a normal life and yet people hated him for it.
This book was so heart wrenching and i cried so much on the last 20% of the book. It was bittersweet and i am so sad it’s over.
EliAva has one of the best storylines in the Rinaverse. The girlies that get it, get it 🤷🏻♀️
PSA: I love this book and you might not 🤷🏻♀️ we can always have different opinions, and that’s OKAY.

I would respond the exact same way (I mean not the exact same way but you know what I mean). This plot line, in my opinion, was absolutely genius. The moment she woke up in that hospital I had no idea where the plot was going to go but I loved every single part of it! Honestly, as with all Legacy of Gods books, my heart absolutely broke in the last chapters (*cough* glass *cough* - side note what is it with Rina and broken glass?? She's doing it on purpose I swear - she knows it makes us absolutely bawl). Anyways, Ava Nash is an Icon please and thank you. And I mean Eli King's obsession…

The minute I saw their rivalry in the Royal Elite series I was like "wouldn't it be funny if…" AND THEN BAM IT HAPPENED!! ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!!
Eli King is utterly obsessed. Again from God of Malice, we got bits and pieces of the story line for both Eli and Ava and we were gobbling up crumbs and then Rina hits us with the plot twist and I was like - I AM HERE FOR IT! The possessiveness, the obsession, the caring, "Touch her and die" (I mean the restaurant scene alone was iconic!). Eli King makes his father very proud and I'm sure his Uncle will come around… eventually… But he won't care either way so… OBSESSED!!

Simply put, this was a really lackluster way to end this series.
With how much drama and excitement there has been in the series prior, this just fell flat in comparison. The more serious undertone, different setting and situation makes this feel incoherent with the rest of the series. It’s not a horrible book but it was not what I hoped or expected, hence I am a bit disappointed.
From the start of this series, there has been build-up of there being something between Eli and Ava, who are the protagonists of this book.
With how much hinting there has been throughout all the books I expected the romance to be jaw dropping. But fact is, there wasn’t even that much romance until the very end.
There’s a lot of mental health rep, control issues and Ava begging Eli for affection however.
It’s hard to romanticize or get excited about unfortunately.
One of my favourite thing in this series has been following the close-knitted friend groups, their group chats, banter etc. That has always been a hit, even if the romances have been of varied degrees.
Here, due to it being years later and a different setting, we get to know that they are doing well(nice) but there’s not nearly enough of the friend dynamics from previous books(not nice).
Keeping my review fairly short because I’d rather not spend more time on this book tbh.

ava was one of the characters i liked the most and i’m sad this changed in her own book. for the majority of the story, she acted like a spoiled brat. i get her issues but she’s 24, i expect a minimum of maturity.
also, another virgin? did we have doubts? again, it’s not like i want all of them to be sex machines but cmon! it’s 2024, not the middle age?????
and guess what? SHE’S BLOND! AGAIN!

for the first half of the book, she swore she’d take her revenge on eli. but for starter, this revenge never came, and she was being stubborn in the most annoying, unnecessary and wrong way.
overall, the book was kinda boring compared to the others. it lacked of action which is something usually present in RK’s books. don’t get me wrong, i ate this up as usual, and i lived for the drama. but after i finished the book i was asking myself effectively what happened. and the answer is basically nothing.
the book was hot ngl. there were some scene where the tension was BOOM. and they had cute moments too.
it’s such a shame that we read about their wedding in the most horrible way. and while i’m happy i got to know about cecy and jer’s wedding, i would’ve loved to read about eli and ava’s wedding day in a happy way.
in conclusion, i think i had the highest expectations ever but unfortunately they weren’t met. i still have mixed feelings and i think i should sleep on it a couple of nights to fully know whether i liked this book or not.

first of all, i didn’t like it one bit how cole treated eli. cole was being a total ass to eli just bc he’s aiden’s son and aiden was engaged to silver for like 2h and he got her first waltzer? wtf? how old is he? 12? holding a grudge to aiden when they both got married and are in love with their respective wives? oh cmon, it’s so annoying and unnecessary. congratulations rina, you had the nerve to make me mad to my precious cole! when i catch you rina…
eli was portrayed as the villain for the majority of the book, while–in reality–was caring and thoughtful. but can i say i was expecting something else? i mean, i met eli a couple of times in the other books of the series, and i had my thoughts about him which now are different.
eli’s aura of mystery of the other books, was completely gone. i mean, we know he has secrets but they weren’t hard to uncover… he was sweet but also very hot. we could see his sociopath character from a mile away bc yes rina loves sociopaths. but here’s the thing: i thought eli was gonna be one of my fav mmcs of LOG but it turned out the king men are not my cup of tea. and i really wanted to love him.
also, i don’t understand why in RES we know eli kisses ava and asks his parents about marriage. but then he just loses interest? at least until uni. and then forced ava into marriage?
even tho i like eli, i don’t get why rina made him a killer. istg i find the whole murder and the forced marriage a completely nonsense.

Is this a novel or a book containing entirely distinct scenarios and conversations in every chapter, no correlation whatsoever? There is nothing in here. Just immature banter and no real chemistry or love. You can’t even understand what is Ava’s real problem is. There is absolutely no talk of the 2 years of their marriage, how did it play through. The reason for their marriage was stupid. Eli is not even in love till the last chapter. He cared for her like a friend. This whole book is a waste of 800 pages . I was more than disappointed. All this wait and hype for this loosely tied words. Eli is nothing like his father, Aiden loves Elsa whereas Eli even after all those years is like “ I can’t give you love.” They don’t even talk about anything substantial ! Lan’s sculptures have more substance than Eli. Rina sorry but you could have written this in a week. There is actually no story just Rina sat down and thought of one specific scenario and wrote down one after another , and the best part? They don’t even connect.

Oh my goodness. Legacy of Gods is one of my favorite series and this final book absolutely did not disappoint. Rina Kent is a mastermind, weaving darkness and light into romance, and using her own unique magic to make her characters come to life. I loved Eli and Ava’s story, because there was so much more than meets the eye with this couple. Their history went so deep, and had so many layers that needed to be peeled back and exposed in order to truly understand their love. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book that really set it apart from the rest of the Legacy of Gods books. I was riveted by the way Rina kept us guessing with every chapter.
This is the type of book you cannot start judging half way through. You really need to finish the whole book before you get it, and honestly that is what I loved about it. Eli and Ava’s intense, consuming love is not the type of love that comes easy, but it was so worth reading their struggles to see them get their happy ending.
I really loved the adventure this book took me on, but I also greatly appreciated the mental health representation of this book. The fact that the readers of the Legacy of Gods series were largely unaware of her silent battles just shows how misunderstood Ava really is.

AHHHH WHAT WAS THAT‼️ i wanted to slap cray cray and eli sooo many times through this series, it must be a family trait being an annoying fuckboy🤡 at least their love interests were there to take their life for me🥰 i know, i accept eli wasn’t so bad. i see the things he did for ava at the end but stilllllll this was soooo bad✋🏻😕🤚🏻 i missed the vibe from previous books, this was so centered on eliava and it was boring tbh
