Dear Author,
Craig is a crocodile shifter who loves nothing more than to sit in the river all day among his pure croc brethren. Such a cute story!

A crocodile shifter and an adorable klutzy geek, a little thrill, humor, and magnetic attraction. Enough said.
“I'm just here to get my internship credits so I can graduate. I'm not here to be eaten by rabid crocodiles."
Craig frowned at him, wondering if he should re-think his crush. "Crocodiles can't get rabies. What kind of student are you?"
"I know that. I was using hyperbole," Grady protested.

The humor was the best part of this wonderful short story! I loved the unconventional shifter plot and especially the insight into how it happened. In my opinion, this was an exceptionally creative take on the picture prompt. How can you not like a hot, naked guy caked in mud who can kiss like a dream and has a little hidden special talent? Well, I couldn’t resist falling for him! ;)

Liked the novelty of a Crocodile shifter and there were some good ideas here, only it's very short which left it feeling underdeveloped. Everything came together too quickly at the end, the characters had only just met and it's a strong HFN.

Who would think that the best day you ever had would be making out in a truck with a were-crocodile? For that matter, I'd never even considered that a were-animal could be a crocodile, much less a gay one, but these elements certainly make the story unique. This creature is very unusual indeed.

The were-croc's name is Craig and it's quite entertaining to be privy to his thoughts on life as a were-crocodile, having him explain things which we would never even think about like where he has to live and how inconvenient it is not to have grocery stores nearby. The guided tour Craig gives us of the swamp through his crocodile eyes is informative and entertaining, especially when the croc has such a great personality and a fantastic, witty, and off-beat sense of humor. Even so, when Grady sees him shift for the first time it almost gives him a heart attack, but he soon comes to realize that Craig is harmless, at least to him and that they hit it off well enough to consider dating.

I loved this story; J's sense of humor is phenomenal. I laughed all the way through it. Craig's laid-back attitude gave him a special charm and Grady's ability to see beyond Craig's 'were-ness' speaks to his open mindedness which is exactly what he would need to even think of dating a man who can turn into a crocodile. I'd love to see what happens with the guys in the future. The first date should be a hoot. I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys unusual shifter stories which are both entertaining and humorous and prove than any obstacle can be overcome if you try hard enough. Thanks, J.!

Cute story, but it needed to be longer to fully develop. Which is my complaint about most short stories, and why I read so few of them. But J Rocci is a favorite author so I figured it was worth a shot. :)

I enjoy the non-standard shifter stories, and this one was very sweet. I really liked the how of Craig becoming a were-crocodile too. That was a great touch. 3.5 stars.

I liked the initial idea, because it was original. But this could have been so much more.

“Crocodylus Acutus” had a lot of potential to be a captivating M/M paranormal romance but somehow ended up being just an OK romance for me.

The synopsis was breath taking so I felt really excited that I finally found a paranormal romance story with a refreshingly different plot. My mind instantly went to this image where a were-croc was rushing to rescue a human male from other crocs…wow! I felt really tickled to no end with the image in my head that after rescuing the guy, this were-croc was taking him to his lair because he was a wounded hero who was all lonely. However after reading the story, I felt very disappointed because “Crocodylus Acutus” did not have enough sensuous moments and the way the human quickly accepted the were-croc was way too quick. I think it would have been very engaging for the reader if the human was a little shocked, scared and slowly came to terms with his discovery that the man he fell for was in fact a were-croc. It would have been even more captivating for the reader if the were-croc felt through some hoops to win the human. This story definitely needed more intense emotion and dialogue.

The characters felt superficial lacking depth in their personalities leaving the dialogue rather immature and predictable. I also think that this story needed to be a full length story or a novella to help the characters develop as much as they needed to be.

However, if you are looking for a very simple, pleasant and easy to read YA type of M/M romance then this one is for you.

I LOVED it. This story was sweet, charming and completely loveable. J. Rocci did a great job introducing us to Craig and Grady.

The premise of a were-crocodile was a very pleasant change from the were-creatures I usually read. I also like how it was explained.

Please continue this story. I'd love to read about what happens after their encounter at the Everglade. Why did the crocs go after Craig and Grady so persistently? Is Grady Craig's mate? How does this effect Craig?

Craig isn't the only were-crocodile is he? Will he stumble across a community of them?

Thank you J. Rocci for sharing this with us. I love the dusting of humor you put in Crocodylus Acutus.

Part of the Love is Always Write event over at M/M Romance Group.

Very cute story of a were-crocodile, a conservationist and their first meeting on a muddy riverbank.

Only thing about this story is I wish it was longer.

This was so darned cute I just wanted to hug my Kindle. Craig the where croc has a laid back attitude towards life and a sense of humor that made me laugh out loud. Yes, I would have loved to have more of this character and his new flame, but for a free short, it was perfect.

This is a short M/M shifter short story. It is probably too short, it would have born more development easily, but it lacks neither fun nor romantic moments thanks to its likeable, goofy leads. Writing is professional, editing satisfying.

I loved the idea of a were-croc. I came across this fun little read as a free read and was intrigued enough to give it a go. Even though it was super short at about 23 pages, it was worth reading for the wonderful humor and characters.
