Midnight in Dallas #4

Feels Like Home

Rate this book
Katie Kelley has all the ingredients of a happy life: a home she adores, the best friends anyone could ask for, and a job as a pastry chef that she loves. If only she could get one single doctor to take her seriously enough to figure out what the heck is going on with her health. As if that isn’t enough to send her spiraling, Katie’s boss shares some news that threatens to turn her whole world upside down. With so much on her shoulders, Katie finds comfort in the arms of a dear friend who she wishes was a whole lot more.

Dallas Stone, the namesake drummer for acclaimed rock group Midnight in Dallas, is used to setting the beat for his bandmates. But ever since their breakup, he’s the one left feeling off-tempo. Picking up the odd session gig and cheering from the sidelines as his closest friends find their happiness is nice, sure, but when will it be his turn? After his friend Katie confides in Dallas her fears about the changes happening in her life, he makes it his mission to help. As the pair grow closer, Dallas begins to see a life for himself outside of music. One with the woman he’s secretly been in love with for years.

When medical tests finally lead Katie to a diagnosis, Dallas becomes more committed than ever to taking care of her. Frustrated by his obsessive attentiveness, Katie is determined to prove she doesn’t need help. But can Dallas let go and find his own identity outside of their relationship, even if it means watching the woman he loves struggle? Feels Like Home, the fourth installment of the Midnight in Dallas series, is a story about finding ourselves in an ever-changing world and the love that prevails through it all.

At this point to say I love this series is an understatement!!

I was waiting to read the story of Dallas and Katie since the first book, it was so nice seeing their relationship develop through the length of 3 books and then take her full form on the 4th.

I enjoyed the representation of the chronic illness and I learned a lot about the aspects of living in those conditions. This book tackles a heavy subject specially for women in a great simple way.

So far this is my favorite book of the series, Dallas and Katie’s relationship was to die for, their banter was so cute and Dallas is the standard now for a good supportive partner yall.

Last but not least, I demand a book concerning Luca and Mackenzie !

Thank you to the author for providing me with an advance copy of her book in exchange for my honest review!

To say that I love this series would be an understatement at this point.

Where to even begin… with my baby Dallas of course 🥹 I had been waiting for his story to develop since I first picked up “Home is Where you Are” and this golden retriever walked into my life. This series is a massive comfort read for me… it feels like a slice of apple pie on a cozy thanksgiving night and this book was no different.

I had been guessing about Dallas and Katie for a while. They have such good chemistry and their banter was so stinking cute. Getting confirmation that they were happening in “Long Way Home” made my black dead heart beat so fast! The spice was spiced up 😉 thanks Mel… and their chemistry just kept on growing. We got a brand new, cute as hell pup of course and she is just the most adorable thing to have ever worn a diaper 🥹🫶🏻

Honestly, having absolutely no first hand experiences with chronic illness, this book was a reality check for me. I loved seeing the representation and learning about different aspects of what it takes to live with these type of conditions. It really had me feeling ungrateful for the way I take care of my health and not to appreciate what I have and do better for it and me.

As usual, Anthony came in with his southern queen persona and lifted my mood so much I could not stop giggling. But Melissa in general has that wonderful ability of making me smile and laugh out loud with her books.

Highly recommend this series if you need a comforting contemporary romance story. While they can be read as stand alones, I would recommend publication order because it’ll give you the best story of the main couple and how they came to be.

Mel, love you to the moon and back.. so excited for my favorite emo boy to be next 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

I am here for Dallas and for Katie to whoop his ass a bit 🤪🤪

An amazing friends to lovers romance set in the Midnight in Dallas universe that finally sees Katie and Dallas explore their feelings for one another.

I absolutely loved getting to see these two friends admit their long-held attraction and figure out what being there for one another looks like. Katie in particular leans on Dallas as she struggles to find a diagnosis for the chronic pain she's been experiencing and Dallas works through what being a supportive partner looks like.

The author did SUCH a great job writing about how difficult it can be for women especially to find doctors willing to listen to their health concerns without being overly dismissive. Katie is lucky in this book to get a diagnosis relatively early but her anxiety and self-doubt about whether it was all in her head was all too relatable.

This could be read as a standalone book but there are lots of cameos from past characters and it would be better enjoyed having read the other books in this series first (plus they're all great so you can't go wrong). I'm so excited to see what's next for this close-knit found family and especially see Luca get his HEA!

Many thanks to the author for sharing an advanced copy of her book in exchange for my honest review!! I was beyond grateful for the opportunity to be an early reader as a forever fan and couldn't read this book fast enough!! It satisfied all my hopes for two of my favorite characters in the series.

I received an ARC of Feels like Home in exchange for an honest review~

Melissa has a way with words, y’all. The book was cute and funny in a way that kept you interested. Some parts were cheesy but it fit this book, and the characters, extremely well.

I admittedly struggled with a few main things in this one. I found it hard to relate to Dallas and Katie. They’ve been friends for over four years and finally acknowledge their feelings and want to be together, but it felt fast paced. It was hard to feel their actual connection as a couple, and maybe it’s because they just dove right in and we didn’t see the struggles until they were actually in the relationship. I did like this approach though, and found it really unique.

I wanted to love Dallas so much more, but I felt like he was willing to give everything up solely for Katie, rather than find his purpose. Even when he “did,” it was still to benefit her, and part of me thinks that’s because he knew he’d be stepping into a critical role in her life —— the bakery. I admire his will to do that, and I wish we would’ve seen him find a way to make it about him, too. Or find his true purpose outside of music. He questioned himself, and their friend group knew he was an all-in typa guy, but it would’ve been nice to see his character development more. He screams golden retriever (which we absolutely love), but I felt like his needs weren’t entirely met in terms.

With Katie…. I admittedly struggled with her towards the end. I can recognize and understand so much how heavy of a diagnosis she received, and what that meant for her. There was a lot of processing, a lot of new and learning, and everything in between that we didn’t get to see. However, it felt like she purposely pushed people away just to do it. I can also recognize that need of wanting to prove to yourself you aren’t your illness. I respect the absolute HELL out of that, but even when she was at her practical breaking point she didn’t seem that apologetic about it. In some ways, it felt like she wasn’t willing to take her diagnosis seriously enough to ask for help until the epilogue, and even then it was hard to feel like she truly wanted the help. Granted, she came a LONG ways throughout this book —- her character development was absolutely unmatched — but I would’ve liked her to genuinely rely on her supports because everybody was navigating her illness just like her. She may have been the one living in it, but she has so many people that love and care about her and I felt like she was purposely pushing people away. I felt like she didn’t want to hear everybody’s thoughts because she would place blame on herself.

The fight and makeup towards the end didn’t seem fair to Dallas. Yes, he was overbearing. Yes. He was being a jackass, but she didn’t really hear him out (and he didn’t elaborate as much as what I would’ve liked to see). I wanted them to have a genuine conversation about it, because Katie’s diagnosis affects BOTH of them, and it felt like once she got what she wanted out of it, that was it. It was just…. Different. I feel like Dallas really didn’t get to process his own feelings and then went on his merry way, and I felt like we were still walking on some eggshells because of that. It didn’t feel resolute. I wanted to see way more communication from those two, and I didn’t.

I know this review sounds negative —— and that isn’t my intention in any regard. I would’ve loved to see the communication developed more.

I can recognize how hard it is to live with any form of illness —- mental, physical, both, etc. but people need other people even when they don’t want them, and it was hard to completely love the book because of those things.

I rounded the stars up for goodreads, but i’d give this a 3.5 ⭐️

“I waited nearly four years to kiss you, Katie. I’m not in a hurry to mess this up, alright?”

Feels Like Home has been three books in the making and I am so excited to finally have Dallas and Katie's story. We've watched this pair dance around each other for years and now it's happening! I am the first to admit friends to lovers is my least favorite trope, so if I'm endorsing this one, you KNOW it's good!

It was so good to be back in the Midnight in Dallas world and to get to be discovering post-band life right alongside these characters. Katie is still struggling to find answers to her health issues, while Dallas is figuring out what his path in life entails. Life is changing fast and everyone is trying to find their footing.

Katie and Dallas are the perfect match for each other and have the best chemistry. From Dallas's Top Chef Katie nickname to the tender and care he shows Katie, I loved watching these two fall in love. Their relationship is born out of years of history, which perfectly sets up their relationship. This isn't a typical love story, but it fits Katie and Dallas to a T.

While Melissa Grace's books always pack an emotional punch, this one is more personal and feels so real. Feels Like Home offers a beautiful account of someone being diagnosed with a chronic illness, and then the subsequent journey of finding their footing in a new, scary reality. Not only does it show Katie's struggles, it also has Dallas championing by her side. While this journey could have been sugarcoated, Melissa Grace gives a realistic peek into the struggles of building a relationship with someone when your world is seemingly falling apart.

Of course, I loved seeing the friendship continue between Jo and Katie, along with appearances from all the characters from past books. Luca continues to be a mystery to me and I honestly cannot wait to see what is up next for him.

Feels Like Home publishes June 6! A huge thanks to Melissa Grace for trusting me to read your book babies in the early stages. Forever your cheerleader!

Feels Like Home is the fourth book in the Midnight in Dallas series. Once again, another book in this series that I love.

This story focuses on Katie and Dallas. They have had a connection since they met but haven't gone past the friend zone-both worries about what would happen if they tried and it didn't work. Would it mess up their wonderful friendship and their friend group dynamics?

Katie is dealing with an unknown illness, and she is having a bunch of doctor appointments to try and figure out what it is she has. Dallas is there to support her and help her through this time. He may go a little overboard in his actions, though they are all from love. Dallas is a complete cinnamon roll hero...can't help but love him.

I love Melissa Grace's writing and the characters she creates. You can feel the love that they have for one another. I also love that she gives a sneak peek into the next book's main character and his/her story.

Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I definitely think this is one of my favorite romance series ever. There is a realistic component to all her books that you don’t always get with other romance books. The characters deal with real issues and are people you can relate to. I love getting updates on all the characters from the previous books too. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

We are just flying through this series by Melissa Grace. It’s fun to see all the characters come back and get updates on them. I knew Dallas would be a good one- he’s just so passionate about what he’s doing! That really shows in his relationship with Katie while she’s dealing with some tough issues. I liked that this one had some deeper topics to it as well, a tad different from the others but it still flowed really well.

🌀Synopsis
Katie and Dallas are both in love with each other but neither of them is willing to admit it. Afraid they’ll ruin the friendship they have, they’re becoming pros at keeping their feelings secret.
Dallas is struggling though. Since the band broke up, he hasn’t been able to find something else that he is as passionate about.
Katie is also struggling but in a much different way. Her health is failing her and they aren’t sure why.
Put these two together and you’ve got a guy who is passionate about helping this girl feel better. It gives Dallas purpose to take care of Katie and it helps Katie see that she doesn’t have to do everything alone.

This series does feel like home to me. With every book I fall more and more for the characters. This found family is the absolute best and I’d die to have one like it!

I’ve been dying for Dallas and Katie since the ending of LONG WAY HOME. You all know how I feel about friends to lovers but I knew I was going to love this one. Dallas and Katie denying themselves being together not to mess up with the friends group dynamic was so adorable. I could feel the longing in every scene they shared before getting together. Both Dallas and Katie felt such a strong pull to each other, and hiding it was hard. I nearly clapped when they finally kissed!

Katie’s story was so painful at some levels. Seeing her suffer doctor’s appointment after doctor’s appointment because they dismissed her worries and ignored her symptoms made me furious. Please, check the trigger warning below for more about my feelings on this. I could feel her relief when she finally got a diagnosis. Even though it’s scary, finally putting a name to what’s happening to you is pure relief. I love how supportive Dallas was, and even though it got a bit too much at some points, everyone knew that he only wanted to help Katie because of how much he loved her.

I can’t even say how EXCITED I am for Luca’s book. I think I’ve been pestering Mel about it since the first book in the series. I’m so so so SO ready.

TW: Medical negligence*

*This is very personal but I wanted to add it in case someone else might feel like this. As someone who has been misdiagnosed several times by different doctors whose only solution was “lose weight” or “relax”, I hate doctors in general and I can totally feel the frustration Katie felt.

This was my first Melissa Grace book and I can’t wait to go back and read the other books already out in this series!

This story was a really sweet friends to lovers with a lil mutual pining and a golden retriever mmc 😍

I really appreciated the autoimmune rep in this book and thought that the frustration of women trying to get answers and be heard when they bring concerns to medical professionals was really important to the story. I haven’t gotten to read many stories with this theme and it was refreshing to see this story be told! I loved seeing Dallas and Katie walk together through this and learn how to navigate it in their own ways.

Thank you, Melissa, for giving me a chance to read and review an ARC copy of this book! Can’t wait to see what else happens (hopefully for Luca 👀)

The wait for Katie and Dallas was killer, but it was absolutely worth it. Between the invisible illness rep, the friends to lovers romance, and Emilia, this book truly feels like HOME. Asking for help can be so difficult, especially when you don't want to feel pitied for needing it. And Katie is stubbornnnnnn. She's contrasted so nicely with Dallas, he's sweet and doting to a fault. I also loved how we get a bit of a flashback to before the ending of book 3, just to get a glimpse of how it really went down. In typical Melissa Grace fashion, I was alternating between guffawing and tearing up as I raced through the pages. I absolutely cannot WAIT for Luca's book and I think we're finally getting it next!! (If we don't, I'll riot)

This is the fourth in the series, but can be read as a standalone. A friends to lovers romance, this plot centers around some side characters that made appearances in the first three books. There is a chronic illness rep, and covers the time when our main character gets diagnosed and adjusts. The main couple was cute, and the little actions they did to show each other they cared made my heart happy. Plus, there is an adorable dog. Always a win!

Katie and Dallas have known each other for four years now. And for four years they have avoided telling each other how they really feel about each other because they don’t want to mess up their friendship. But when one of them has a scary incident at a party, it spurs them into action.

This is the first book I've read of the series, and while you can read it as a stand alone, I am dying to go back and read the first 3 in the series to really see how Dallas and Katie's story developed over time. If you didn't know there were 3 books before you might feel like their relationship was rushed in the beginning, but knowing it's been brewing for several novels definitely helps bring their story together.

I love a good friends to lovers and this one was packed with real life struggles people face in the health care system. Not being listened to, being told your solution is to just lose weight, or being misdiagnosed. It's frustrating and you can really see how one has to deal with that through Katie's story.

For a second I was getting a little annoyed with Dallas and his overbearingness, but loved how author Melissa used that to develop the story and ultimately build their relationship into something stronger.

While I am excited to go back and read the first three, I am just as excited to see what comes next for Luca. It's very obvious there's a story to be told there and I can't wait to hear it. Knowing a bit about his personality I hope it's packed with even more spice! Don't hold back, Melissa, we beg you! ;)

Overall, giving this one a 4.5! :)

First, thank you SO much to Melissa for the ARC copy! Second, I can confirm this can be read as a stand alone and still be fantastic. Safe to say the first three are now at the top of my TBR. This is a solid 4.5 for me.
The story of Dallas and Katie is one of my favorite tropes, friends to lovers. Their dynamic is fun and sweet and I love the side story involving the restaurant after previously attending cooking school myself. The book was well written and easy to flow through while tackling some heavy stuff at the same time. The chronic illness story line was eye opening and even if you cannot directly relate, it makes you think about how you treat others to compensate for your own feelings. Bravo to the author for bringing this to light. Overall, this book was very cute and fun, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romance!

Melissa’s books are always a great read! I loved Dallas and Katie’s story so much! It was relatable with Katie’s illness and how people and herself responded to it. I also loved that in a way, Katie helped Dallas figure out what he wanted to do after the band broke up. It was just all so cute! I hope Luca’s story is next!!!

I was so excited to get an ARC for this book. I have loved this series so much and I was so excited that Katie and Dallas FINALLY get together. This is your classic friends to lovers troupe.

The thing I love most about Melissa Grace's writing is that she writes incredibly real people. All the characters in this series but especially Katie and Dallas feel like they could be real people living a real life, but they do not live a boring life.

I am also super excited to find out what happens with Luca in book #5.

Slight Spoiler:

The only con I have for this book is the found family that I absolutely adore seems to be spreading out too much. The found family was one of my favorite parts of this series.

Feels Like Home is a heartwarming friends to lovers romance. Katie and Dallas are such endearing characters, who swept me up into their story from the first page. Katie is frustrated and struggling with health issues, and Dallas is trying to figure out his life following the break-up of his band. This book is also about found-family and the joy of surrounding yourself with friends who support you no matter what. Chronic illness is a big part of this story, and the author has treated the subject candidly, but with hope and care. I’ve loved the other books in this series, too, so hope there will be more! Dare I hope that Luca’s story is next? As long as the author keeps writing them, I’ll keep reading them.

I love this series so much! I am so grateful that I got a chance to read an early eARC of Feels Like Home. Melissa is an amazing writer & really helps the reader feel the emotions that her characters are experiencing. I love that this novel tells Katie & Dallas’ story! Their spark has been there & simmering for a whiiiiiiiile. 😂 And of course, the romance & spice did not disappoint!

On a more series note, this novel does cover very important topics such as chronic illnesses, invisible illnesses, finding your purpose in life, & overcoming/adapting to unexpected changes in life. I very much appreciate how Melissa handled these topics. I found a bit of myself in Katie in this story. She is a strong willed woman with many goals for herself (& plenty of drive to get her there). I appreciate that she is determined & hardworking, but that she is also learning to let go of some of that control & trust her supports while challenging the thought that this makes her weaker in some way. It takes so much strength & leadership to know when you need help, how to be vulnerable enough to ask for it, & then to continue to lead & work with your supports to overcome any obstacles. I am very proud of Katie & Dallas as they grew to learn each other’s limitations & how to provide each other support in the ways that each needed over the course of this novel. Dallas had to learn how to let go of some control as well & to trust that Katie would ask for help when she needed it because her illness is not a qualifier for her. I am so glad he was able to find his passions in life (outside of music) as well!

And they were learning this all while the Midnight in Dallas family is changing & adapting. It’s bittersweet to see those growing pains as a fan of this series! I am so excited for the book 5 finale & the fact that it’s going to be Luca’s story…but I can already tell it’s will be hard to see this series end. It really does feel like home in my bookish world. 💕

I would first like to say that this book blew my expectations out of the water.

As a woman who constantly deals with pain and continues to get no help from doctors. I would go into detail, but that’s not what you’re here for. You’re here for the book. But I have to say, I’ve never related to a character so much and rooted for fictional doctors more. When some of those doctors were pricks to her I found myself booing, but when she found a good one I had literal tears streaming down my face. This was such a unique story. I’ve truly never read anything like this.

I read this book as a stand-alone and have not read the other books. I’m definitely going to now because I think I missed some of their stories from this one. It could have made it EVEN better, but still outstanding as a standalone.

The couple in this book are struggling to not only figure out their dynamic as friends who have turned to more, but the MMC has to figure out how to be a supportive partner with her diagnosis. I found that to be such a real part of life and the romance didn’t feel fluffy and buttery. It felt real and touching. I wanted more so badly. Also, not to say this isn’t a cute romance. It is. She’s a baker nicknamed top chef with a dog and she’s dating the biggest tattooed golden retriever to exist. But their feelings felt so real to me. And the spice is amazingly creative how it’s written. 10/10.

This was a good paced book. I never got bored, mainly because it was so educational at the same time as it was a good story. Also, I would not consider this to have the traditional third act breakup which I LOVED.

Thank you Melissa for providing me with this ARC. I will forever be enamored with this world.

I didn’t expect this book to be my favorite of the series, but it absolutely is. Wow.

This installment of the Midnight in Dallas series belongs to Dallas and Katie. These two have had eyes for one another for quite some time; the slow burn is real with this one.

Dallas is struggling to find his place after the band split. He’s dabbling in other projects, but nothing feels right. Katie is doing her best to keep Livvie Cakes running strong despite the fact that she is struggling with her health and the owner, Liv, is pursuing her music career and now constantly on tour.

Melissa Grace took the time to make Katie’s story so authentic. She really digs into what it’s like for a woman to deal with an invisible illness. So often we let others tell us how we should be feeling or acting instead of listening to our own bodies.

For me, this book was an emotional experience, I knew something was wrong with me for several years, but doctors kept saying things like: “it’s just your age” or “it’s all about diet and exercise” or “your labs are normal, I’m sorry.” I truly felt like I was going crazy. All it took was that one doctor to validate my feelings and tell me that we would figure it out. I finally had hope. Melissa Grace captures those feelings and experiences beautifully.

This will be so much more than a romance novel for many readers. Don’t get me wrong, the romance story is amazing, but there is much more depth there. This book will give so many women hope, validation, and strength.

Thank you, Melissa Grace, for allowing me to have and ARC of Feels Like Home. It was truly and honor to read it.

Uhm. I totally fell in love with FEELS LIKE HOME by Melissa Grace. This wonderful story was fast-paced, full of laughs and adorable characters. As someone in the Nashville area, I believe Melissa did a great job bringing Nashville to life.

While this was a lighthearted read for the most part, our FMC, Katie, is dealing with chronic illness symptoms throughout the story which definitely added a heaviness to the book. Her journey and struggle as a woman to actually receive a concrete diagnosis is a story that isn't normally represented in books and I really enjoyed (and related to) this aspect of the book.

Dallas and Katie's relationship was the perfect example of a friends-to-lovers trope. These two had been secretly pining for one another for years! I loved seeing them come together and finally admit their feelings for one another.

This book is part of a series - it can be read as a standalone - but I definitely wish I would've had time to read the first 3 books before reading this one. I can't wait to go back and read the entire series.

Katie has been struggling with pain and random symptoms for some time and struggling to find a doctor to take her illness seriously.

She has had the support of her friends but she’s starting to doubt herself.

Dallas has been unsure what to do next after his band broke up, but he has loved his friendship with Katie. Being there for her has brought them so much closer but he’s worried she might find out his feelings are anything but friendly.

I haven’t seen a lot of chronic illness representation and I’m so glad to see it and it done so well. The balance of learning your limits with a new diagnosis, the struggle with people trying to help too much and proving that her illness isn’t holding her back from life.

I loved Katie and Dallas’ relationship and the struggles they had to learn how to navigate not just moving from friends to lovers but also how to support each other in the way they both needed.

I have loved this series and how real and honest it is, and can’t wait to see Luca’s story.

I received an arc for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

Thank you Melissa Grace for providing me an Early ARC of your book, these are my honest thoughts!

First, I’d like to say that Melissa really has a way of taking tough subjects and combining them with romance, family and friends to make such a beautiful story. A story that makes you laugh, swoon, and get all in your feels at the same time.

This book tells the story of Katie and Dallas, and how they finally made their way to each other after years of friendship. They are both navigating difficult times in their lives, with Katie seeking diagnosis for a chronic illness and Dallas figuring out what life looks like after Midnight in Dallas. The two of them together is just perfection and their story is beautiful. I loved every bit of this book as well as the previous 3 in this series!

Definitely read this series if you like Found Family, Rockstars, cute animals (this one has a dog who wears diapers 🥰), and beautiful stories of love! They definitely could be read separately, however Melissa does a great job of character building throughout the story and it definitely adds something to read them in publication order! I just can’t wait for Book 5 to see Luca (hopefully) get his HEA!

after discovering melissa grace and the midnight in dallas series last year when book 3 came out, i was so excited to have the chance to get an eARC of book 4, feels like home!! i was excited to read dallas and katie’s story after seeing their flirtations and interactions in the previous books.

while i’m not the biggest friends to lovers fan, i really liked how the interest in this book came not from the couple getting together, but from the trials that came afterward. it was so sad seeing katie struggle to get her MS diagnosis and then deal with her illness once she got the diagnosis. and i appreciated seeing dallas blossom and discover something he was passionate about that wasn’t the band or taking care of katie. this was a super mature look at how adult relationships actually are—not built on sex or flirting or banter but mutual love and respect, letting the other person figure out mistakes on their own.

i am SO EXCITED to get luca’s book, he has my whole heart and i loved the little interactions we got with him in this one. i’m forever a melissa grace stan!!!

thank you to the author and publisher for providing a free eARC in exchange for an honest review!!

I couldn’t wait for this book to come!! I had hoped ever since the first book that we would see many of these characters get their own stories and this did not disappoint! Katie and Dallas’s relationship was a joy to watch develop. You can clearly see their love rooted in friendship for one another and it felt like such a success for them.

For me, as someone who is in a period of unknowns currently, I really related to Dallas’s struggles to find his place in this new life he leads. It’s easy to stick to what you know and sometimes you just need a new perspective.

I really appreciated Melissa’s care and attention to Katie’s health struggle and battle for a diagnosis. Women are so often dismissed in healthcare and unfortunately, this part of Katie’s story was extremely relatable.

Definitely could be read as a stand-alone if you choose, but it’s much more entertaining and relatable if you’ve read the other books within the Midnight Dallas world.

Can’t get enough of Katie & Dallas’ story! I loved the chronic illness representation in this book. It was executed so well & I haven’t read a book like this before!

This book gave me all the feels! This book follows Katie, a pastry chef who seems to have everything in life. The only problem is a medical problem that no doctor can diagnose. On top of that her boss has told her some news that will rock her career upside down.

Dallas is a drummer whose band recently broke up. Watching his friends finding themselves after the breakup leaves him feeling alone. Katie confides in him & they are able to deal with their problems together. As their friendship grows closer, so do their feelings.

Can Dallas be the man Katie needs while trying to figure out his future? Will Katie be able to get the answers she deserves from doctors?

I was lucky enough to recieve an arc of this book so thank you!!!!
Katie and Dallas are so pure. Their relationship was brewing for years before based off an amaing friendship. Reading a story about a chronic illness opened my eyes more because i've never read anything like this before. Seeing Katie's troubles and how she kept it to herself for so long was so interesting to see. Dallas was trying to help her but it got to be too much and she told him to that he needed to relax and he respeced her wishes. Watching Katie acheive her dreams while struggling and overcoming something was eye opening. I'm hoping we get more of these characters and hoping we get a story about Mackenzie or Luca!!

Feels Like Home is the 4th book in Melissa Grace’s Midnight in Dallas series. Dallas is trying to find his place after the band has broken up. Katie is trying to figure out how to navigate her new diagnosis.

I love a good friends to lovers romance. I thought Dallas and Katie were good characters and I loved seeing their love blossom. My only issue was pacing. I know in previous books we saw their friendship develop but this romance felt so fast.

Overall, this was a fun read. I am very interested to see who gets the next book (based on clues. I think I have an idea and I’m so here for it!)

Thank you to Melissa for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Melissa has done it once again! This whole Midnight in Dallas series has been so sweet and close to my heart.

The growth that Dallas showed during this book (he was my least favorite before but now I love him), Katie’s struggles and journey through chronic illness, Emilia the senior rescue pup, everything was so perfectly written.

I felt like I could see myself through Katie’s struggles. I was so happy to finally see their relationship bloom, I could honestly feel all the emotions they both felt throughout the whole story.

Thank you Melissa for giving me the chance to ARC read this story, for writing such an incredible story and shedding some light to the struggles of people with chronic illness!

I cannot wait for Luca’s story, I’m pretty sure he’ll be my favorite!

I love this series! It’s the fourth book and this time around we get the story of Dallas and Katie.

Dallas and Katie have been friends throughout the series and now finally it’s their time to take their friendship to the next level. Dallas is sweet and caring and their banter is so cute.

Katie is struggling with a chronic illness and it played a major role in the book. We get to follow her along to multiple doctor appointments and the frustration she deals with doctors brushing off her symptoms. After months of failed appointments, she finally gets an answer and Dallas is there every step of the way.

It’s the sweetest friends to lovers romance, and I loved the appearances of all the characters from the previous books. Now I just can’t wait for Luca’s book!

Thank you to the author, Melissa Grace, for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
