Magnum P.I.
The action-drama series Magnum P.I. is a reboot of a popular '80s TV show of the same name, which starred Tom Selleck as the titular private investigator.
The 2018 series takes place in Hawaii and stars Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, a Navy SEAL turned private investigator. Thomas lives on the Hawaiian estate, Robin's Nest, which is owned by author Robin Masters, with Juliet Higgins, a former M16 agent, and the estate's cultural curator Kumu Tuileta.
Juliet eventually becomes a P.I. herself to help Thomas with his cases. Thomas is also assisted by two former U.S. marines, Rick and T.C., and is known to butt heads with HPD Detective Gordon Katsumoto.
Magnum P.I. takes place in the same fictional universe as Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver, and all three shows were developed by Peter M. Lenkov.
