Marl Wormthorn is a worgen druid found at the Tainted Forest of Blasted Lands, and an old friend of Mayor Charlton Connisport.
History[]
At the time of the Cataclysm, Marl Wormthorn and his people of Gilneas arrived in the Blasted Lands. Upon their arrival, Wormthorn believed that the Tainted Scar could be healed, and attempted to grow it back by creating the great tree Maldraz with his power. From underneath its trunk, he entered a druidic trance and began to bring life back to the area.[1] At first, it was a success and the forest was restored to its former, greener self, allowing the refugees to build Surwich where the Tainted Scar was once present.
However, the residual demonic powers left on the land began to take their toll, and while Wormthorn's attention was drawn to fighting back the demonic taint, the nathrezim who had formerly resided there took the opportunity to infiltrate Madraz. Once inside, they corrupted Wormthorn's trance, making him lose his mind in the process, and used his body as a weapon to corrupt the tree and the forest.[2][3]
In order to halt the corruption he had created from endangering the lives of others, a 
[Demoniac Vessel] was separately created by Cenarion Observer Shayana and Elijah Dawnflight to break Wormthorn's trance.[4] Later, both the worgen of Surwich and blood elves of the Sunveil Excursion sent adventurers to reduce the number of demons,[5][6] and to kill the corrupted druid.[7][8]
Abilities[]
Entangling Roots — Entangles an enemy in roots, inflicting Nature damage every 3 sec. and immobilizing it for up to 4 sec.
Mark of the Wild — Increases the friendly target's Strength, Agility, and Intellect by 5% for 1 hour. If target is in your party or raid, all party and raid members will be affected.
Marl's Shield — Protects Marl Wormthorn.
Regrowth — Heals an ally for a fixed amount, then heals additional damage every 3 sec. for 21 sec.
Rejuvenation — Heals an ally every 3 sec. for 12 sec.
Wrath — Causes Nature damage to the target.
