Great Vault

The Great Vault ^{[58.8, 57.9]} is an enchanted vault that stores many remarkable artifacts^[1], located in the Valdrakken Treasury Hoard of Valdrakken. Overseen by Evantkis, it serves as a weekly reward system. Players are introduced to it shortly after reaching max level during the quest [70] The Great Vault.

First introduced in Shadowlands, the Great Vault of Oribos ^[65, 31] was described as a massive relic of the First Ones^[2], where it was overseen by Caretaker Kah-Toll, with Ko'tul running [Attendant's Token of Merit] exchange.

The Great Vault interface can be accessed from the vaults in Oribos or Valdrakken and from the Mythic+ Dungeons tab of the Group Finder.

Rewards[]

Each week, the Great Vault will contain up to 9 random pieces of gear based on how many raid bosses were defeated, mythic dungeons that were cleared, or Honor Points that were earned the previous week. The items will be appropriate to the content; defeating raid bosses reveals raid gear, clearing mythic dungeons reveals mythic dungeon gear, and earning Honor Points reveals PvP gear. Though up to 9 items can potentially be available, only one item may be claimed.

Should none of the items prove appealing, instead take 3 [Aspects' Token of Merit], which can be traded to Evantkis nearby for various useful items like a socket-adding item.

Requirements[]

The requirements change from season to season. In Dragonflight Season 2, the requirements are:

Notes[]

The Great Vault is a successor to the Grand Challenger's Bounty and War Chest which was used during Legion and Battle for Azeroth.
During Dragonflight pre-patch, the following message was displayed:

Unable to earn new rewards after this week.

Any unclaimed rewards will be lost after the launch of Dragonflight.

Patch changes[]

Patch 10.0.2 (2022-11-15): Rewards and requirements updated for Dragonflight.
- Now requires 2/4/8 raid bosses (was 3/6/9).
- Now requires 1/4/8 Mythic+ dungeons (was 1/4/10).
- Now requires 1250/2500/5000 Honor from Rated PvP (was 1250/5000/6250).
Hotfix (2021-06-30): The Great Vault has returned and generates the correct item levels for Mythic+ rewards.
Hotfix (2021-06-29): The Great Vault is temporarily unavailable while we resolve issues regarding incorrect item levels.
Patch 9.1.0 (2021-06-29):
- Great Vault rewards for Mythic Dungeons have been increased by 26 item levels.
- Players who are not satisfied with the selection of gear that the Great Vault has provided them with for the week can now opt to receive a token that will let them choose from a number of alternative rewards including [Reservoir Anima], [Stygia], and [Soul Ash]. If you decide to go down this path, seek out Ko'tul next to the Great Vault to choose your reward.
- Clicking on the Great Vault icon on the world map now opens up the Great Vault panel.
- Selecting the token reward in the Great Vault will now display a countdown confirmation.
- PvP cloaks, necklaces, and crowd-control trinkets now appear less frequently in the Great Vault.
- PvP staves no longer appear in the Great Vault for Shaman.
Patch 9.0.5 (2021-03-09): The Great Vault raid loot requirements is now to defeat 3/6/9 raid bosses (was 3/7/10).
Hotfix (2020-12-18): The Great Vault's Stygia reward is now more detailed about how much Stygia it provides.
