The Wildlands is a magic-free area, located on Magix and is composed of three main habitats.

Overview[]

“Just outside Magix lies an imposing mountain range, and the lush forests of Wildland spread out behind one of those mountains. It has a large, enchanted, rose lake in the middle. A wonderful, tiny beach surrounds it, just right for lighting bonfires. The vegetation is lush and thick and is a real jungle. Apart from wolves and dinosaur-like monsters, nobody lives here. Anyone is bound to be terrified if they go for a walk on their own.”

It is home to many dinosaur-like animals, as well as Hunting Trolls. Magic does not work here. However, for fairies who have earned their Charmix and witches who possess Gloomix, magic is possible there but only for a limited time and with difficulty.

It is located beyond the Magic Dimension, near the shopping town Adquistes.

In "Pixie Village," before sending the Winx on a vacation, Faragonda explains that the Wildlands is divided into three habitats in one: up in the mountains a winter paradise with excellent skiing facility, while the great Wildlands desert and the savanna region holds a wild variety of exotic plants and animals. Bloom gains her Charmix in the Wildlands' mountains.

After the adventure in the mountains, the Winx, Specialists, and Pixies are at a lake, finally able to relax. However, conflict arises between Aisha and Stella as their opposing personalities clash; Stella desiring to return to the city whereas Aisha is perfectly comfortable here. Stella's lack of understanding of the outdoors prompts Aisha to say that she cannot live outside of her usual city life. This upsets Stella and makes her walk away, stating that "this is who [she is]!" Their friends notice and it sets an awkward tension. Night falls and the group is roasting some corn over a campfire, while chatting and discussing tomorrow's plans. Stella huddles herself, mumbling her desperate desire to return to the city. Musa mentions sending postcards to their parents and Bloom excitedly exclaims "magic postcards," to which Musa reminds her the Wildlands being a magic-free zone. Bloom chuckles at the thought of there being no magic and is now not used to it. Riven then chimes in that the girls should understand what it is like without it and can only rely on one's muscles and brain. Bloom then reminds the group that there is hope, especially when she got her Charmix, which can be useful against Darkar.

Meanwhile, since failing to activate the Codex due to an overwhelming amount of darkness, Darkar needs Bloom, the Keeper of the Dragon's Flame, to balance it out. He spies on the group but due to the magic-free zone they are in, the image is blurry preventing him from seeing clearly and therefore, unable to pinpoint their exact location. The Trix, though eager to assist, are worried about the magic-free zone but Darkar assures that their Gloomix will provide enough power to cast a few spells, as it multiplies their magic; he then teleports them to the Wildlands. Stormy comments that it made her feel queasy. Icy then points out that they are outnumbered and need to formulate a good plan. Luckily for them, some wild animals pass them and Darcy sees useful puppets for their plan.

While everyone is asleep, aside from Sky who is standing guard, Bloom is suddenly woken up by a noise. She gets up to check it out and asks Sky about it, to which he responds he is not sure. Bloom voices her unease at the noise and Sky teases her, saying it would be a romantic spot if it were not for that. Sky then puts her at ease as he will be guarding all night, she then returns to bed.

Darcy however, had hypnotized the wild animals they encountered and convinces them that the Winx, Specialists, and Pixies are intruders of their land and need to be taken down. But, if they see a red-head named Bloom, she is to be captured and brought back to the Trix. She then orders them to go and seek them out.

The next morning, everyone is already awake and getting postcards ready to send to their parents. Stella is the last to wake up as she it not used to the bright sun. When Aisha asks if she would like to send one to her parents, Stella brushes it off and goes to have a drink of water. This is when Bloom informs Aisha quietly that Stella's parents are divorced and does not talk to them much, and although she does not say much about it, she is deeply hurt by it. Bloom further explains that Stella pretends to not care about things but is actually very sensitive. Aisha, while holding in her feeling horrible and guilty that she had accidentally hurt Stella's feelings, says she is going for a walk through the woods with Piff in her hood. She is reminded by Flora and Tecna to stay on path as it will be difficult to find her if she does not. Once she is alone, she begins to cry, realizing that she still does not know her new friends and for accidentally hurting Stella's feelings. As she collects her thoughts, Stella is about to start her fashion show for the boys but is incredibly worried about Aisha, as she is nowhere to be seen and goes to look for her while the others begin the show.

Aisha, having finally calmed down starts her way back but is now lost. In panic, she tries to wake Piff up as she is scared and feeling alone. She is then startled by Stella's voice. Stella then tells her that she would invite Aisha to join her fashion show, and expresses that she understands and sympathizes with Aisha as there are times she also does feel that she does not fit in, much to the shock of Aisha. Therefore, it is the reason why she wants Aisha to join. Aisha is moved by the genuine gesture and accepts. The two reconcile and Stella earns her Charmix. However, this happy moment is interrupted when the hypnotized animals find them and attack. Stella tries out her new powers and is able to temporarily stun them but cannot stay transformed long, so they run away as fast as they can. Their friends are wondering why they are taking so long though are not too worried as there is no real danger. And with no one else having earned their Charmix, it will be a blind scavenger hunt, to which Riven states that sitting down and doing nothing will not and proceeds to start looking for them. Musa approaches him regarding his tone towards their friends and bicker about it, with Musa ending up getting angry. Brandon sees this and approaches Musa about it, who admits she was too quick to react. Brandon then explains that argue is easy but honesty takes courage and affirms that she has plenty of that. He then advises that she takes the chance and trust Riven when she herself, questions who she should trust. Musa takes this advise and follows the path Riven took. She then sees him lying low and spying Darcy hypnotizing more animals. It is now imperative that they alert the others, and knowing that she does not trust him, Riven immediately offers to go but Musa stops him, telling him she trusts him to be alone with Darcy to learn of what she and her sisters are up to. Riven continues spying and Musa herself, for trusting Riven, earns her Charmix.

The animals are closing Stella and Aisha, so Stella tries one last time to get their friends attention by sending a signal flare into to sky. That is when all their friends begin rushing over. As Stella and Aisha ready themselves for a physical fight between the animals, Brandon arrives just in time and chase them all away. The group safely reunite but are then relentlessly pursued again by more animals. The group heads toward the valley and are about to step on to the Trix's magical traps but Riven stops them in time and guides them through it, having spied on their movements and learned of their plans. They safely get through the traps but are backed up into a cliff, leaving them trapped. In "Danger in the Wildland", Timmy, the Specialists' tactician then points out the monsters do not know the way through the traps. Riven guides the group again, while Timmy quickly radios Helia for assistance. After the group leads the monsters to the traps, they are able decrease their number. The ones that remained continued their chase, forcing the group to split and unable to hear her, Aisha is left behind and is chased by a hunting troll. She trips it over a cliff, but unfortunately, the cliff gives way and she ends up sliding down as well. She is unable to climb back up and needs to find another route. She ends up in a cave where her fear of the dark and perpetual loneliness are amplified, causing her to briefly panic and pass out.

The group made it safely outside, while the Trix continue gathering more animals for their causes. Piff then alerts everyone that Aisha fell down a cliff, so Bloom and the Pixies head down to find her, while the rest prepare for the Trix's next attack by setting their own traps and led by Timmy. He also has Musa spy on the Trix to see when they are coming and learn that they are after Bloom, to which she informs her friends when she returns. The Trix begin another round of attacks and are caught in their enemies traps, and eventually lose when Helia arrives just in time to help using a Red Fountain aircraft's blasters. Tecna, who has been disapproving of Timmy lately, sees that she misjudged him greatly and apologizes to him, admitting her feelings for him and earns her Charmix.

Meanwhile, Aisha, realizing her friends could be in danger and need her help, overcomes her fears and earns her Charmix, allowing her to fly out of the cave and reunite with Bloom and the Pixies who had been looking for her. She returns with them to their friends who are all relieved and happy to see her. After some down time and releasing the remaining animals from the Trix's spell by feeding them enchanted fruits containing a dispelling charm, they are all ready to go home. Helia protests because he just got here prompting Flora to tease him about it. They all head back to the ship and Tecna advises Flora that she cannot continue hiding her feelings and that she needs to confess them to Helia. Flora responds with, "I know, I know."

In Enciclomagia, it says that in the middle of the Wildlands stays the Adquistes city, being surrounded by high walls to protect itself from the monsters of the Wildlands.

Trivia[]

The Wildlands' Italian name Territorio Recinto means "enclosed territory."
In the 4Kids dub, it is called the Resort Realm.
The Wildlands might have been inspired by the Savage Land from Marvel Comics, which is an isolated tropical prehistoric land surrounded by volcanoes deep in Antarctica and a tropical preserve hidden from the rest of the world inhabited by dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures.
Flora is the only Winx who did not earn her Charmix here, she earned it at Pixie Village.
