Amazonia is a region found in the continent of South America, on Earth.
Overview[]
Amazonia is a place called "The Lung of the World" and the "The Undiscovered Country" because it is the only place on Earth that is not yet completely conquered by humans and affected by technology. This region of the world is covered by a large tropical rainforest called the Amazonian Rainforest, where many species of plants and animals live. It is a vast region where mountains, hills, rivers and valleys can be found and it is also the home of native tribes who lived in villages in the forests but whose lands had been stolen by wood-cutters working for a corrupt businessman.
The palace of Diana, the Major Fairy of Nature, and her followers, the Amazon Fairies, who rule over and protect the rainforest, is also found in Amazonia.
The Forest contains the Source of Nature, a magical flower that is the embodiment of all nature and is the source of Diana's power and vital strength, The Source of Nature itself bonded to the Forest and the more the Forest is harmed the more the Source of Nature withers, and the power and vital strength of Diana diminishes, and the Forest becomes more vulnerable.
Inhabitants[]
Amazonia is the home of the Amazon Fairies, Earth Fairies who serve Diana, and of native tribes.
Some wood cutters who work for a corrupt businessman used to work there and destroyed the forest and the villages of the native people before Diana stopped them with the help of the Winx and the Specialists.
Pre-Series[]
Diana once ruled Amazonia in ancient times with her Amazon Fairies before the Wizards of the Black Circle captured them. During their imprisonment, deforestation would continue and for each tree that fell, dealt a painful blow to Diana, which fueled her rage and urge for vengeance.

Season 4[]
When the Earth Fairies were liberated, Diana and her fairies begin their reign of vengeance. After Diana had forced Gardenia to return to its natural, vegetative state, she captures the Specialists (who confronted her in hopes of convincing her to stop) excluding Nabu to lure the Winx into her kingdom. During their confrontation, with anger and agony, Diana details the decades of pain she experienced as humans continued to destroy nature.
Back in Amazonia, the Amazon Fairies are on alert for the Winx and Nabu. When the Winx and Nabu arrive, the Winx use their Tracix wings to track Diana's movements and follow them. Stella feels the forest is too crowded and had some run-ins with its wildlife, she ends up on a tree and notices Diana's Temple; she tells her friends. But then, the Amazon Fairies make their way towards them, sensing their magical energy. The girls distract them while Nabu enters the temple to find their friends but is ambushed and knocked unconscious.
The Amazon Fairies chase down the Winx and because they are in their territory, the Winx cannot outrun them for long. Flora directs her friends to de-transform, which greatly reduces their magical signature; buying them time while they regroup and figure out what to do next. As they prepare to head back to the temple, they come across an area of land where it has been deforested. Flora feels the pain and suffering of the forest and faints. Bloom heals her and she recovers. The deforestators who were spying, approaches them, irritated. They mistaken the Winx for the Amazon Fairies, who had tormented them enough to not be able to work. They also did not care about what harm they would cause to the forest and are about to attack the Winx when the Amazon Fairies arrive. The two opposing groups surround the Winx but the Amazon Fairies turn their attention to the deforestators, chasing them off with magic. After the deforestators are dealt with, the Amazon Fairies return their attention to the Winx who activate their Sophix powers. They bring back life to the deforested area, restrain the Amazon Fairies, and instilled a newfound understanding in the deforestators who swore to never destroy nature again.
The Winx then split up to cover more ground. Flora, Musa, and Aisha head back to Diana's Temple to check up Nabu and the others. Tecna, Bloom, and Stella search for Diana's source of power. The former three find their friends but are also captured and restrained with the Specialists and an injured, unconscious Nabu. The latter three are able to find Diana's source of power, which is also nature's life essence, the Sacred Sprout hidden safely in the Nymph Waterfalls. They are approached by the natives and both sides share their stories. The natives greet the girls with grace, the tribal leader explains that he saw them defend their home, which had been destroyed by the deforestators. The natives will help the girls make contact with nature.
Meanwhile, Flora, Musa, and Aisha are restrained by magic chains, which prevent them from using their powers. Aisha desperately tries to reach the unconscious Nabu but her efforts are futile. Then, Diana and two of her fairies enter the room and confront them for challenging a major fairy, she threatens to punish them later. Flora defiantly chastises her for her actions, "while you keep us locked up, the forest out there is under attack and is at risk of disappearing. Your hunger for vengeance doesn't allow you to save the forest you claim to love!" Diana's only response to her statement was to tell her to be silent. Diana then senses the other Winx had made contact with the Sacred Sprout. Fearing for what is to come of her power, she orders her fairies to capture them and uses nature to ensure it.
The other Winx, unaware what is to come, vow to the natives that they will protect the sprout. The tribal leader also points out the same thing Flora did about Diana: her hunger for vengeance prevents her from seeing those who also love and protect nature as much as she does. The moment is cut short when the Amazon Fairies charge at them. The three Winx are ultimately captured.
When the three come to, they are chained but with their friends. Bloom inquires about them and Sky tells her everyone is alright except for Nabu he had yet to regain consciousness. The Winx converge their Sophix powers which free them from the chains and allows Bloom to heal Nabu. Diana and her fairies enter the room, angry that they still refuse to join their cause. Diana is about to give them their punishment but she is struck with a powerful, painful blow; the forest continues to be destroyed. Nasser, the head of a deforestation company, heads to the job site with some of his employees to finish the work. He disregards what his employees told him about the fairies, believing it to be the natives scamming them because they want their home back.
A weakened Diana commands her fairies to confront the deforestators and some of them to guard the Winx and Specialists. When Diana and her fairies confront Nasser and his team, they are unable to deal their punishment because they have been severely weakened. The Amazon Fairies are restrained. The Winx and Specialists are able to escape from their prison thanks to the Winx's Sophix convergence and arrive just in time to help Diana and her fairies. The Winx and Specialists split up. The Specialists deal with the deforestators (Nasser was able to escape them). The Winx and the Amazon Fairies quickly head over to the Sacred Sprout, which is now severely wilted and dying. Diana loses hope but the Winx reassure her. Using their Sophix powers, they restore nature to its former glory, thereby restoring the Sacred Sprout's health. Nature is saved and Diana felt the connection, and now sees the Winx as allies.
Then, Nasser runs at the fairies with a shovel, furious that they are taking his forest. The natives stop and apprehend him. The tribal leader also explained that Nasser was responsible for the destruction of their homes. Diana also come to realize that not all men are bad and that violence solves nothing. She thanks the Winx for that lesson. Diana, with a newfound purpose, sees that vengeance is not the solution and will try to reason with Morgana, she hopes to stop her reign of vengeance. She then approaches the tribal leader to show her where their village so that it can be repaired. The natives respectfully bow to her, the tribal leader expresses what an honor it is to receive her help. Diana corrects him, as she should be the one to thank them for showing her the error of her ways. Diana also removes the vegetation on Gardenia.
As the Winx and Specialists leave Amazonia, the Winx visited by the Ethereal Fairies who gift them the Gift of Heart, Lovix, which will inspire them with courage. They leave immediately afterwards. The Winx are left unsure but leave the forest with the Specialists.
Amazonia is seen one last time as the Amazon Fairies watch on with smiles on their faces as orbs of magic pass through, indicating that magic has returned to Earth.
Pre-Comics[]
A terrifying menace known as the Snake King, had been sealed on his throne inside his temple. His is a tremendous threat and would send Earth into great peril should he freed. To warn those who dared to try anything, a curse was inscribed on the temple walls, the Snake King's Throne, and his potential wife's throne. His throne reads "Wife... with her the Snake King will reclaim his kingdom." His potential wife's throne reads, "There is no place for love to live in the Dark Lord." This inscription is also what can be used to stop the Snake King. The king would remain sealed for centuries.
Then, the Wizards of the Black Circle came through, capturing Diana and every Earth Fairy, and imprisoned them. The destruction of the forest would continue to ravish Diana with great pain and fueled her thirst for vengeance against humanity.

Season 4[]
Amazonia is seen in a flashback as Tecna recalls the time the Winx and Specialists sought to quarrel Diana and her Amazon Fairies' vengeance towards humanity. The Nymph Waterfalls is shown on the projector where Diana had overcome her vengeful ways.
In Issue 98: Return to the Amazon, an archeologist named Tobias visits Amazonia. He and two natives arrive at the Temple of the Snake King. The two natives warn Tobias of the curse, which are disregarded by the archeologist since he has heard enough superstitions from them. To Tobias, this temple is an important archaeologic discovery, one that would make his colleagues incredibly envious. As he walks into the temple, he takes out his recorder to document what he sees. He comes across the throne room where the Snake King sits, sealed within its confides. Next to him, is an empty throne with a ring. Tobias reads the thrones' inscriptions and the ring's beauty entices Tobias to take it. He plans to gift it to his girlfriend, Iris. As the archeologist leaves, the Snake Kings smiles evilly, knowing he will soon be freed.
When Iris puts on the ring, known as the Ring of Fate, the Snake King awakens, which unleashes a powerful surge of energy, shaking the earth and damaging the trees. This also alerts Diana, who uses her magical orb to track the Snake King's movements as he makes his way to his bride. Diana sees that the Winx have become involved in the curse and alerts them. She also explains to them what can be done lift the curse: Iris must sit on the bride's throne and remove the ring. The Winx urgently teleports themselves, Iris, and Tobias to Amazonia. They frantically enter the temple where the statues come to life to prevent the Winx from stopping the curse. Tobias leads Iris to the bride's throne but the latter is too frightened and unable to remove the ring. The Snake King arrives and amusingly laughs at Tobias who tries to protect Iris. Remembering the Snake King's weakness, Tobias proclaims his love for Iris, which effectively stuns the king and gives Iris the courage to remove the ring. The Snake King is resealed into his throne.
Iris confirms if what Tobias said was true, Tobias stutters but Iris shushes him because she knows that it is true... and that he will ruin the moment. When the group leaves the temple, Diana is there to greet them and scold Tobias for blatantly ignoring curses. Tobias reassures Diana that he had learned his lesson and the Winx teleport everyone home.
