From BebopKate's comments re: Malfean (WTO): "It's there!" (redirecting to Malfean (cWOD))
Yes, that article certainly does fit the bill, but unless I'm mistaken, Mage has some bad guys called Malfeans, worshipped by some Nephandi, that may or may not be Wraith-Malfeans. I figure a need for a seperate article. Yes? No? --IanWatson 02:26, 1 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry I missed this...kinda got buried in the updates. ^_^ I didn't mean the "it's there" in an annoyed way, I more mean as it tied in to the Wraith updates. Apologies if I threw you. As for a seperate article, well...let's just say I'm not very familiar with Mage. According to this article, they're the same thing, but unless I find it in a book (or know someone who has), I wouldn't be 100 percent sure. BebopKate 22:58, 5 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I think it should be reversed, with Malfean (cWOD) in the manner as we have Vampire (cWOD) instead of Vampire (VTM). Malfeans, while not as important in Mage as in Wraith, still get a fair amount of attention in Mage, which has its own insights to them. And really, the ideas are so closely related that there shouldn't be a distinction in the articles. Might want to do the same for Spectre (cWOD), since the term spectres is used consistently throughout all the lines.
- The problem is we weren't sure if they're the same thing in Mage and Wraith; that is, if the the beings worshipped in Mage are the beings of evil incarnate in Wraith. If you know for sure that's the case we'll be glad to change it to the (cWOD) designation.
- I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind Spectre(WTO), other than they're primarily associated with Wraith. I would actually agree with you on that one though as they're also Orpheus-related and the (WTO) might throw some people off.
- Thoughts? ^_^ BebopKate 01:57, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Recently went through the Book of Madness Revised. Mage's Malfeans are a sect of Nephandi who worship the Wyrm or associated entities (i.e. of Malfeas). The book does mention Wraith's Malfeans, but the two are explicitly distinct: one is a group of Nephandi, one is a bunch of mostly-slumbering mega-Wraiths. --IanWatson 14:32, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
