Robert Elliot was a young man who worked for ElectroBank in New York City, where senior partner and venture capitalist Howard Barclay became his mentor. At Barclay's behest, Elliot quickly got involved in insider trading and embezzlement of approximately $30 million.

Then the police came.

Robert wrote a letter to his mother, admitting his guilt, but that he was only guilty because he did everything Barclay told him to do. But Barclay abandoned him, and while Robert was sitting in his cell, Barclay was scrubbing records.

Robert's body was discovered on October 5, 1990, dead of a self-inflicted single gunshot wound to the head. His body was discovered two days before he was scheduled to appear in court for the ElectroBank case. Barclay said "I am distraught. Though his actions at the bank have caused me to re-evaluate our friendship, I had hoped he would come to terms with his wrongdoings, and return to society a new, improved man."

Barclay's lawyer Jed paid Robert's mother $300K in hush money.

Two years later, in 1992, Barclay moved away from New York to LA.

Spectre[]

After he died, he returned as a Spectre, the Wall Street Wiz Kid. He appeared in California to haunt Howard Barclay, to mixed success. Given how much time was involved, it's uncertain if Barclay was unaware of the Wiz Kid's presence, or if the Wiz Kid was only able to manifest decades later during the séance. He seemed bound to the Barclay Mansion, but Barclay himself didn't linger after he died. Like the Mansion's other Spectres, he hunted down the wraith of Ed Miller instead, seeming to confuse him for Barclay.

As a Spectre, he stood 11 feet tall, carrying the gun that killed him in one hand, his head gaping open and dripping blood.

Background Information[]
