Sia to spread festive cheer with Christmas album

Adelaide superstar Sia is swapping chandeliers for Christmas trees with the announcement that she's going to release her first seasonal record.

The singer, know for her incredible vocal range and distinguished songwriting abilities, will release her Christmas album featuring original holiday songs written by her and collaborator Greg Kurstin.

Sia and Kurstin have worked together on several albums including her most recent release This Is Acting featuring hits songs Cheap Thrills and Alive.

The Christmas album will be Sia's first release under a new deal between Atlantic Records and her own label Monkey Puzzle, following her departure from Sony Music. Sia will still distribute her music in Australia through Inertia.

Sia is also in the process of directing her first feature film, Sister, which stars dancer Maddie Ziegler, who has been performing for Sia onstage and in videos since the release of the 2014 hit song Chandelier.

The film is also set to star US actress Kate Hudson.

Sia will be touring Australia later this year on a bill that includes, Charli XCX, MO and Amy Shark.
