Anton Simms is a minor antagonist in Ace Attorney: Conflict of Interest. He was forced to comply in a murder plot by forging evidence in order to falsely convict Edman Books for the murder. He's the founder of the Ace Fanclub Forums.

History[]

Anton Simms at one point attended Phoenix Wright's first trial. He was amazed by his skill that he attended every single one of his trials. After learning that Wright was disbarred, he decided to create the Ace Fanclub site to honor his legacy and have others believe in him. He went by the name 1337aZnPrinceSz because he felt it fit him, despite others believing him to be female online.

One day he noticed an account named Stranger2Love silently lurking throughout his site. After attempting to reach out to him, Stranger2Love coerced him into staying silent about his dealings with the Rivales Family. On the night of Webb's murder, Stranger2Love threatened to kill his mother if he didn't forge a confession out of Mask3d_n00b. He reluctantly decided to forge the evidence and hand it over to Prosecutor Williamson for the trial.

The next day, Wright came to talk to him. He was embarrassed for not clearing out his place before meeting the legend. Wright felt awkward around him due to his obsessed and otaku nature. After being asked what he knew about the case, he showed him the piece of evidence. Wright later went back to his place and told him he figured out that he was planning to use the screenshot to cover for Stranger2Love. Upset that the plan was being exposed, he kicked Wright out of his place threatening to have him arrested for trespassing.

Simms was brought to court to testify about Mask3d_n00b's "confession". After Phoenix Wright proved the screenshot was a forgery, he was reprimanded by Williamson for almost costing his job. After being threatened an arrest, his last stand was to show that he was coerced by Mask3d_n00b. After Wright made him a viable suspect for the murder, he broke down and confessed to everything along with the threats given to him. Before he was able to get to the Stranger2Love account, Togamera stepped in and announced that it was deleted. After the trial ended, he was taken to the witness protection program alongside his mother with the judge and Williamson deciding to show mercy.

Personality[]

Anton Simms is a devoted fan to Phoenix Wright, believing in his skill and call to justice. He's also an otaku, obsessed with Japanese culture and anime and feels offended to those who don't understand it. Although it's implied, he has a lack of social skills but makes an effort to show respect and address others properly when asked. Although he has a sense of justice, he prioritizes protecting his close ones, willing to frame an innocent man for murder and covering a murderer to protect his mother from harm.

He seems to be driven more by self preservation and stupidity rather than malice, being used as a pawn by far more dangerous people. While he's willing to break the law, he's clearly being forced to, and he shows remorse over his actions when his crimes are revealed. He's far less of a threat than Togamera and Luciano, being treated by Phoenix and co as more of an annoyance than a genuine danger.
