Mosshead is a minor antagonist in the 2006 film Casper's Scare School and a minor character in the series of the same name. He is one of several underworld creatures who study at Scare School and a loyal follower of the school Bully, Thatch. He has played several roles throughout the series, but his main role is in "Messy Business at the Manor", where he is invited to spend the holidays at Casper's mansion, since his family couldn't take care of him.

In the TV show, he was voiced by an unknown voice actor in Season 1 and Matthew GĂ©czy in Season 2.

Description[]

Mosshead is one of the troublesome students at Scare School, who likes to annoy everyone around him, thus being seen as annoying by most of his classmates. He is part of Thatch's bully clique and participates in most of his evil plans and attempts to get Casper into trouble, however, unlike the other members, he is the only one who seems to like Casper, occasionally helping him out in certain situations.

Appearance[]

Mosshead is a swamp monster creature that resembles a goblin or a troll, with only two slightly pointed teeth at the top of his mouth. Mosshead also bears a slight resemblance to a normal human, being one of the creatures known to resemble humans, along with Triclops and Harpy. He has brown eyes, a wide upturned nose, pointed ears, and a few freckles under his eyes. He also has green hair that is quite short in length and made of moss, hence his name. His attire includes a black shirt with an illustration of two bones positioned in an X shape, in addition to white sleeves with red stripes, he also wears purple shorts with brown shoes and a pair of different socks; a plain yellow and a striped red.

Personality[]

Mosshead is overall the dirtiest and disgusting student at Scare School, with a somewhat obnoxious, rude, and clumsy demeanor, who amuses himself by annoying the other students, often on purpose, and helping Thatch in his pranks and attempts to get others into trouble. He is also mean and ungrateful, as he is invited in "Messy Business at the Manor" to spend the holidays at Casper's uncles' mansion and ruins their house, littering every room and disrespecting Casper and his uncles, as well as threatening to reveal the secret about Casper's friendship with Jimmy to everyone at the School, going so far as to completely annoy him.

In "Davey Jones Locker", when he is tasked by the Principals to leave Davey Jones' locker where no one can find it, Dash exclaims that Mosshead only remembers his own name because his mother wrote it on his underwear, followed by a scene with him leaving the locker in the same location as before, implying he's not that smart. In the same episode, when Thatch is numbering students, he quickly forgets his number shortly after being named, which also indicates that he has a poor memory.

Despite Mosshead's petty nature, he still has his friendliest moments, as he helps Casper do a favor for Professor Thurdigree Burns in "The Day The Professor Croaked", allowing him to use his trained fire-breathing frog to deceive Kibosh. Sometimes, though very rarely, he even disagrees with Thatch's pranks, usually when it's something that crosses the line, similar to Slither and Harpy.

Clique[]

Mosshead is one of the most prominent members of Thatch's clique, whose aim is to pull off tasteless pranks and devise evil plans to help their leader get along or get other students in trouble, including Casper, whom they despise.

Family[]

Mosshead mentions his family in "Messy Business at the Manor", when Casper finds him crying in his dorm for being forced to spend all his holidays at Scare School, as his family would haunt a new apartment without him for being too young.

Powers and Abilities[]

Mosshead has as his main skill the great control and possession of moss:

  • Moss Drop: When he's having a lot of fun or feeling comfortable somewhere, he starts to uncontrollably drop moss around him, thus dirtying and spoiling the places he walks.
  • Touch Moss: Touching an object will instantly turn it into moss and quickly disintegrate. Similar to Moss Drop, it only happens on certain occasions.
  • Enraged Smoke: When scared or desperate, he will quickly spew large green smoke from his ears, reaching out and disgusting the people next to him.
  • Sneezing larvae: Rare; when sneezing, he releases a couple of live larvae.

Relationships and Interactions[]

Despite the various appearances and roles played by Mosshead, he still has a low variety of relationships with other characters, having only a few descriptive interactions.

Thatch[]

Thatch is the leader of the clique that Mosshead is in. He seems to be a big follower of Thatch, being always seen following and praising him, as well as helping him with his many pranks and plans.

Thatch, however, as usual, treats him disrespectfully and petty and is easily annoyed with him because of his silly and stupid behavior, despite this, Thatch did show a little concern when he realized that Mosshead was helping Casper in "The Day The Professor Croaked", in fear of losing him to Casper's group.

Other than these facts, not much is known about their relationship.

Casper[]

Mosshead seems to be the only one in Thatch's clique who doesn't despise Casper, yet they still don't get along very well, at least not when they're together for a long time.

In "Messy Business at the Manor", Casper feels sorry for Mosshead for having to spend the holidays alone at Scare School and invites him to come with him to his uncles' mansion, however he soon regrets it once the two arrive. , with Mosshead soiling the mansion and being rude to him and his uncles. Casper ends up getting annoyed with him and makes a big rant at him, Mosshead however regrets being ungrateful to Casper and apologizes to him and helps clean the mansion.

On a few occasions, Casper and Mosshead are shown to have a good friendship, such as in "The Day The Professor Croaked", where Casper and his friends find out about his secret about bringing a pet to school and keep it a secret since pets aren't. allowed at school. Mosshead, as a thank you, shows them his pet frog's tricks and allows Casper to use him as part of the plan to do the teacher a favor.

Dummy Girl[]

Dummy Girl is a member of the same clique as Mosshead. The interaction between the two is little explored, but it can be said that they are close friends, considering they are both the most prominent members of Thatch's clique and are occasionally seen hanging out together.

In "My Fair Harpy", Mosshead praises Dummy Girl's dance moves on stage and later goes out with her to the school dance.

Trivia[]
