Abad Sharif is a supporting antagonist appearing in the giallo film The Case of the Scorpion's Tail. He is the main enforcer of Lara Florakis to get Lisa Baumer's inheritance money.
He was portrayed by the late Luis Barboo.
Biography[]
Sharif was hired by Florakis when trying to confront Lisa, as Lisa had an affair with George Barnet when Kurt was killed in a plane explosion. Florakis was Kurt's mistress, so she wanted the fortune, Sharif brought on and promised a cut when they confronted Lisa in an abandoned theater in Athens, where she was to collect the money. Assuming Lisa killed Kurt with a bomb in the plane to try and keep the money for herself, Florakis demanded Lisa turn it over with the imposition of Sharif's reaction on command. Lisa fled with the assistance of Peter Lynch, the insurance investigator on her tail. Sharif nearly slashing them with his knife.
When Lisa was murdered and the money stolen, Lynch went to Florakis' place to interrogate, her, Sharif nearly taking a hatchet to his head at the front door before running. The killer later murdered Florakis, who called Sharif to save her shortly beforehand, when Sharif arrived, he found Florakis and chased the killer to the rooftop, the killer surprised Sharif with fisticuffs and a stab in his gut, kicking him down a shingled roof. As Sharif was still clinging to the edge, the killer cut Sharif's hands with a switchblade to send him falling to his death.
