Move Out, GUTS-Select! (出動! GUTS-SELECT, Shutsudō! Gattsu-Serekuto) is the third episode of Ultraman Decker.[1] It features the debut of Yuichiro Asakage and Ultraman Decker Strong Type.
Synopsis[]
A new aircraft GUTS Hawk deploys to GUTS-Select. To fully utilize its power, GUTS-Select need to coordinate with the Hawk's AI pilot, HANE2! But communicating with HANE2 proves a difficult task for Kanata and his team mates.... The sudden appearance of Gomora only adds to their difficulties. Don't give up, Decker! Use your new power to save the day![2]
Summary[]
Captain Murahoshi introduced GUTS-Select's equipment manager Yuichiro Asakage to Kanata, Ichika, and Soma. With the help of Professor Yuichiro Asakage, one of the three were to be chosen as the pilot of the GUTS Falcon. Asakage showed them the new fighter jet, GUTS Hawk, which they would undergo battle simulations together with HANE2 as a aptitude test. Each of them failed numerous times to pass the simulation. Meanwhile, Vice-captain Kaizaki was studying the five King Spheres and Sphere Soldiers that dissolved themselves to create the Sphere Barrier. The Spheresaurus that they sent seemed to absorb energy from the ground. Kanata, Ichika, and Soma take a break from the simulations. Kanata asked how he did, which Ichika and Soma noted he was slower than he usually was. Kanata stated he felt nervous anticipating what HANE2 was thinking. Ichika inferred that Kanata was perhaps technologically inept, but also wished they could converse better with HANE2. Her sentiment gave Kanata the idea of opening up to HANE2 and asked some questions to know the AI better.
Kanata asked HANE2 to tell them about itself, it answered that it and the GUTS Hawk were created for unnamed space development at the Space Development Center. But because of the Sphere attack the two were repurposed for combat. Kanata opened up to HANE2 that he used to believe he'd just inherit his family's store, but now he simply wanted to return everyone's normal everyday lives. Kanata turned to Soma for why he wanted to join GUTS-Select, with him timidly revealing he was saved from a monster as a child. Ichika was astonished that everyone had their own reasons to join GUTS-Select and wondered if Ultraman did too. Kanata unintentionally address Ultraman as "Decker", which made him quickly come up with the reason that Ultraman was strong and big. They resumed the simulations with the difficulty raised higher. Asakage believed that merging the GUTS Falcon and Hawk could not possible at the pace they were going and question why they should train rookies. Murahoshi reasoned that they don't know how long the war with the Spheres would last and they should train young people to anticipate for the future.
Gomora rose from underground and began to cause destruction. While it was powerful, it was not overly violent, so Sawa noted it's sudden rampage was abnormal. With no choice but to engage the monster, and with the results from the simulations, Captain Murahoshi ordered Kanata to pilot the GUTS Falcon and Ichika and Soma were ordered by Kaizaki to attack from the ground. Kanata took off in the GUTS Falcon while HANE2 transferred itself into another unit that was inside the GUTS Hawk. Kanata and HANE2 managed to shoot off its tail, but readings from Spheres were triggered. Numerous Sphere Soldiers coalesced upon Gomora and transformed it into a Sphere Synthetic Monster. Sphere-Gomora's Sphere Super Oscillation Wave is disrupted the signals around the Nursedessei. Kanata switched his communications to a secured line and asked HANE2 to pilot the GUTS Falcon remotely. He told HANE2 to keep it a secret that he was Ultraman before transforming into Decker. Ultraman Decker fights Sphere-Gomora but is thrown around while they were in the path of the Araragi General Hospital. While he tried to protect the hospital from the monster, the Strong Type card come out of the card holder and the voice told Kanata to use it to give himself strength. Ultraman Decker changed to the all red Strong Type and charged at Sphere-Gomora. He lifted Sphere-Gomora by the tail and swung the monster around. It fired its Super Oscillation Wave at Decker. Murahoshi fired the Nurse Cannon which created an opening for Decker to defeat it with the Dolnade Breaker that sent it into the sky before it exploded.
Back on the Nursedessei, Murahoshi and Kaizaki congratulated the three for a job well done on their first mission. Kanata thanked HANE2 for keeping his secret. Kanata decided to give HANE2 a name and came up with the name "Hanejiro". He also demanded Hanejiro to drop the formal speech when it spoke to Kanata.
