Ittetsu Shibukawa (渋川 一徹, Shibukawa Ittetsu) is one of the main characters in Ultraman Orb, and the uncle of Naomi Yumeno. He is the captain of VTL's Special Intelligence Unit.

Personality[]

Shibukawa is characterized by an optimistic and proactive personality. He is responsible, steadfast, and loyal, making him a reliable presence within the SSP. However, due to his frivolous and trouble-averse nature, he often struggles to earn the respect of other SSP members.

Nevertheless, he frequently worries about the safety of his niece, Naomi, during her pursuit of anomalous phenomena. Whenever unusual events occur, he consistently provides information and advice to the SSP. As the series progresses, he develops unwavering trust in the SSP and becomes one of their key sources of intelligence.

Additionally, Shibukawa's wit and reflexes are remarkably agile. In fact, he holds a fifth-degree black belt in judo and a third-degree black belt in karate, demonstrating his considerable skill and expertise. Throughout the series, he often showcases a seemingly unassuming yet incredibly powerful side.

History[]

Ultraman Orb[]

Shibukawa is a member of VTL and has a niece-uncle relationship with Naomi. Despite being married, he is considered to be the brother-in-law of Keiko Yumeno or the brother of Keiko's husband, as the Yumeno family has had only female descendants throughout generations.

After Ultraman Orb appeared in the world, he closely collaborated with the SSP, sharing information. Due to his frequent appearances before the team members after defeating monsters, there was a period when Jetta suspected him of being the human form of Ultraman Orb. At the same time, he often served as a representative of VTL, actively participating in investigations of anomalous phenomena in various locations and assuming command of operations.Cleanup of the Heart

In the middle of the series, news spread to the public about Ultraman Orb ruthlessly attacking Galactron and severely injuring Naomi. Despite Orb's damaged public reputation, Shibukawa maintained his trust in Orb. He was thrilled when Jetta successfully captured Orb's heroic act of saving them and was excited about Orb's transformation. The Holy Sword, Restored

He has a middle school daughter named Tetsuko (who calls herself Catherine). Although their relationship is somewhat tense, during an incident, Alien Shaplay Katarohi absorbed and drained Tetsuko's energy, causing her to faint. As a result, Shibukawa engaged in an intense battle with Katarohi. However, despite firing multiple shots, he failed to hit the enemy and found himself overpowered and cornered. But upon hearing his daughter's encouragement, he stood up again and engaged in a fierce hand-to-hand combat with the enemy.

While Bemular and Orb successfully diverted the enemy's attention, Shibukawa quickly retreated and used a bullet to hit a flammable object, causing Katarohi to suffer from the explosion. After this incident, it seemed that his relationship with Tetsuko was gradually improving.Hard-Boiled River

Throughout the series, Shibukawa's organizational position has remained uncertain, despite occasional scenes depicting him taking command and conducting investigations at the scene of incidents. Later, during the operation to confront and eliminate Maga-Orochi beneath Tokyo, he was present in the command room alongside Chief Suganuma, witnessing the launch of the Spiner R-1.The Giga Lord Monster Strikes Back

Finally, during the ultimate battle against Maga-Orochi, Shibukawa informed Chief Suganuma of the crucial information deciphered by the SSP from the "Pacific Records," stating that the key weakness of Magatano-Orochi lies in its neck. He assured the chief that this was reliable intelligence and officially declared himself as the captain of the VTL Intelligence Special Forces, willing to take full responsibility. This prompted the chief to issue the order for a full-scale attack. In the series finale, he, along with the members of SSP, witnessed Gai's departure. The Wandering Sun

With Earth restored to peace, the threat of the Lord Monsters had been eliminated. One day, the SSP unexpectedly obtained the "X Devizer" and made the acquaintance of Ultraman X. They also received news about the disappearance of a human named Daichi Oozora from another universe. Subsequently, without obtaining permission, the three of them began posting missing Daichi flyers around various locations in the city. Shibukawa took notice of their actions and intervened to stop them.

However, the four of them were subsequently pursued by an extraterrestrial army dispatched by Murnau, plunging them into a dire situation. Fortunately, they were rescued by the return of Gai, but later, in their continued pursuit of searching for Daichi, they ventured to Murnau's mansion, only to encounter an attack from Alien Guts, leading to Shibukawa getting separated from the SSP along the way.

Later, Shibukawa successfully tracked down and defeated Alien Guts, saving the SSP members who witnessed the battle between Ultraman Orb. In the end, with the cooperation of Jugglus Juggler, they successfully threw the Dark Ring into the extra-dimensional space created by Bullton, and restored Ginga, Victory and X to their original state.

After the battle came to an end, Shibukawa and the members of SSP bid farewell to Gai, who was about to embark on his journey once again.Ultraman Orb The Movie: Let Me Borrow the Power of Bonds!
