Matsudaira-no-Kiyohime (松平清姫?) is a character appearing in Shimousa in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Background[]
Kiyohime is the daughter of the ruler of Shimousa, Matsudaira Shimousa no Kami.
Appearance[]
Kiyohime shares the name and appearance of the Heroic Spirit Kiyohime, although she is shown wearing different attire. The similarity is unexplained within the story, but other dream-like scenarios explain Ritsuka Fujimaru may fill in some details with Servants with whom they are acquainted.
Personality[]
Having lived in Toke Castle for pratically her entire life, Kiyohime is very curious about anything new. As such, she is fascinated by stories about travelling, and wishes for someone to take her away. She considers Ritsuka to be just that person, referring to them as the person of dreams. Similiar to the Heroic Spirit who shares her name with, she is obssessed with Ritsuka, though considerably less deluded. Despite this behavior, she still knows how to demonstrate the proper etiquette expected of a princess.

Fate/Grand Order[]
Shimosa Province: The Stage of Rivers of Blood and Mountains of Corpses[]
Kiyohome encounters Ritsuka on the streets of Toke Castle Town, believing them to be the person from her dream destined to take her away from the castle, and loudly professes her love. Her guard reveals she is the daughter of Shimosa’s ruler, so she properly introduces herself. She chides her guard for impeding her search for the person of her dreams. She then implores Ritsuka to take her away, but Otama refuses to let her take her customer away. The two then get into a fight over Ritsuka until Miyamoto Musashi stops them. Kiyohime apologizes for behavior, and returns to the castle with her guard.[1]
She and Yagyuu Munenori meet with Ritsuka’s party in the castle after they learned a letter was sent there, threatening to assassinate Kiyohime. She is the first to arrive, asking Ritsuka what they were discussing. After being convinced not to stand close to them, she notices Fuuma Kotarou is a recent addition to the group. She also finds it a shame that Onui and Tasuke aren’t with them. She assumes Kotarou and Ritsuka are discussing secrets since they’re whisper. So she confesses she can with snakes, though her retainers don’t believe her. After Munenori redirects her to the matter at hand, Kiyohime commends the group for slaying the monsters on behalf of her father and the people of Shimosa, saying to see her retainer later for a reward. Then, moving to the subject of the letter, she asks the group to protect her, despite also having the protection of her castle guards and Munenori’s samurai. Expressing delight that Ritsuka will be protecting her, Kiyohime tells Musashi she deserves the highest accolades for killing the monsters’ leader if true. Musashi confirms such, making Kiyohime glad to know such a strong to inspire her. Kiyohime then asks Musashi to spar with her to prove the results of her martial arts training. Musashi refuses at first until Kiyohime offers to pay her. She suggests not facing her alone, even if she’ll go easy, so Kiyohime has Katou Danzou join her. After the duel, Kiyohime asks Musashi about her training. She is amazed Musashi travelled to train and asks her to tell her about her exploits later. She then pulls her away to eat supper.[2]
Later that night in her room, Kiyohime is amazed by Musashi travelling to other countries. After Musashi tells her it’s still fun regardless of the language barrier, Kiyohime recalls rescuing a baby snake in the castle garden. Ever since then, she had a high affinity with snakes to the point of telepathy. She then asks Musashi if she met Ritsuka before Shimosa. Musashi confesses she met them on an island not long ago, though her memories were fuzzy at that time. She then describes the island. Later, she protects Kiyohime from Mochizuki Chiyome’s monsters. Kiyohime follows her to the garden where Ritsuka and Kotarou are fighting Chiyome. Chiyome throws a kunai at her, but Musashi and Kotarou block it. After Chiyome retreats, Ritsuka informs Kiyohime that twenty of her guards were killed. The news of their deaths causes her to faint from shock. Danzou then attends to her.[2]
The next night, Kiyohime confronts the group after they slew Orochi that Chiyome summoned. She then attacks Ritsuka with her flammable water, but Kotarou shields them from the fire. She then confesses she unintentionally destroyed a snake nest long ago. Despite her regrets, the snakes still come for her. Chiyome tells her to kill the group to gain the snakes’ forgiveness, after which she’ll kill her. Kotarou realizes the kunai that Chiyome threw was a feint to put Kiyohime under a spell. After the resurrected Orochi is slain, Kiyohime realizes she’ll never earn the snakes’ forgiveness. She wishes she never went to Mt. Ibuki, even though it was actually her ancestor who did it. Tainted by his cursed blood, Kiyohime wants to kill the group to earn the gods’ forgiveness. However, Ritsuka and Musashi both realize her words are actually Chiyome’s, prompting Kiyohime to suddenly faint.[3]
A few days later, Kiyohime is held captive by Amakusa Shirou Tokisada at the castle, which was transformed into Onriedo Castle. He plans to sacrifice her to it, using her Tokugawa heritage as a catalyst to launch a far-ranging multilayered curse on the Tokugawa regime to destroy all worlds where they exist.[4] After Amakusa Shirou is killed, Kotarou escapes the Castle, which was set ablaze by Senji Muramasa's Tsumukari Muramasa, with the unconscious Kiyohime.[5]
The next day, she meets Ritsuka in town to thank them on behalf of everyone. She confirms the castle will be rebuilt after the town is taken care of. She then suggests setting up an emergency meal station to Otama when the former expressed concern about no longer being able to ply her trade.[6]
Abilities[]
Kiyohime has been trained in martial arts enough to wield a Naginata. She also possesses flammable water imported from foreign lands, allowing to her simulate the fire breathing used by her Heroic Spirit counterpart. Ever since she rescued a snake in Toke Castle's garden, Kiyohime had a high affinity with snakes to the point where she can communicate with them.
