Eugene "Skull" Skullovitch along with his best friend, Farkas “Bulk” Bulkmeier, attend Angel Grove High School along with the Power Rangers. Neither have a clue as to the real identity of the Rangers, and tend to brag to people that they are friends with them, although they are not.

Bulk and Skull make their debut in MMPR/TMNT #1. As April O'Neil, Trini Kwan and Kimberly Hart are enjoying ice cream floats at the Angel Grove Gym and Juice Bar, Bulk and Skull approach them. Farkas Bulkmeier introduces himself and his “associate”, Eugene Skullovitch as they greet April. Skull is filming with a camcorder and Bulk tells April that they are fellow documentarians who want to welcome her to their wonderful city. Bulk goes on to say that they are close personal friends of the Power Rangers and could potentially arrange an exclusive channel six interview, for a small fee. Trini and Kimberly roll their eyes but April, who is amused, tells the two guys to go on.

In MMPR/TMNT #2, April takes a stroll through Angel Grove with Bulk and Skull. Bulk points out where the Battle of Barbecue Head happened and the spot where the Green Ranger fought Cyclops Zipper Face. Skull explains that they name them. Then Bulk says that just past the street light is where he saved the Pink Ranger from Frankenstein Barbarian – and grinning, Skull asks if he doesn’t mean that’s where the Pink Ranger saved him. Suddenly some sort of dark portal opens directly in front of them, and as April calls for help, Bulk and Skull run away.

As April goes about reporting the invasion of Angel Grove in MMPR/TMNT #3, she is accompanied by Bulk and Skull. Leonardo is worried about her being out alone, but she tells him her fellow documentarians are with her and that they know every hiding place in the city. As April, Bulk and Skull prepare to lead some people to safety, Bebop and Rocksteady appear.

Bulk and Skull, now prisoners of Bebop and Rocksteady in MMPR/TMNT #4. The pair of mutants haul the two teens into the Command Center, where Bulk and Skull are forced to their knees before Rita Repulsa. Rocksteady informs her that the two are best friends of the Power Rangers. Bulk quickly tries to tell her that they’re more like bad guys and Skull says that they water-ballooned a whole school bus just last week. Rita tells Bebop and Rocksteady to interrogate them. As the mutants prepare to break some fingers for embarrassing them in front of Rita, Bulk rushes into speech, saying they can make it up to them. Skull offers to make them both rich and famous. Bulk says they’ll do a documentary featuring them and call it “Bebop and Rocksteady Take Over the World”. Soon they are filming and interview with Bebop and Rocksteady, calling them the Earth’s soon-to-be global overlords.

Near the end of MMPR/TMNT #5, after the Turtles and Power Rangers have defeated Rita and Krang, April reports on clean-up efforts. She also tells her audience that she couldn’t have provided updates during the crisis without Farkas Bulkmeier and Eugene Skullovitch. Both teens appear on camera and wave to the audience as she signs off.
