Seated in the Canale 6 control room, Barney Thompson, April O'Neil and Vernon Fenwick have just finished watching April’s latest special report. Barney congratulates her, but Vernon grumbles about how he never gets a compliment. His boss tells him it’s because April is smarter than he is, which is not well received. Then Barney states that April is not a perfect journalist. She immediately asks what she is missing. Barney replies that she has never brought him pictures of those mysterious Turtles. April explains that there has never been a good opportunity. As Barney leaves, he says it doesn’t matter and to remember this before she asks for the next raise.

Vernon is unable to let this go and decides to prove himself. He dons a disguise which includes a fake nose and mustache attached to dark glasses, and grabs a camcorder. He is sure April won’t recognize him and when the time is right, he’ll be the first to cover the Turtles. Vernon proceeds to follow April and soon sees her meeting up with four individuals wearing trenchcoats and fedoras. He’s certain they are her informants. They are, in fact, the Turtles and April tells them she got there as soon as she could. When she asks what’s happening, Leonardo says they need her help. April asks if Shredder is involved, by they explain that they want to give Splinter some videocassettes for his party and need her to help choose them. As they approach a video store, April is relieved it wasn’t serious, but Leonardo tells her it is for them.

Little do they know, but Rocksteady is inside the store. He is there picking up some cassettes he ordered of his favorite cartoons. When April enters with the Turtles, their disguises don’t fool him and he wonders what they are doing there. Raffaello is telling April that this store is the only one in the city that sells Japanese films in the original language. April is certain that Splinter will be pleased.

Rocksteady ducks down behind the counter and tells the clerk that he wants to surprise his friends. Using his communication device, Rocksteady calls Shredder to tell him about the Turtles and ask for reinforcements. Shredder orders him to keep them busy. Raffaello is scanning the shelves and wonders aloud if they have “Rambo 27”. Donatello thinks it’s behind the counter and goes to look, discovering Rocksteady there. He asks if Rocksteady wanted to ambush them and a flustered Rocksteady tells him to wait a minute.

Meanwhile, Vernon sees that his quarry has entered the video store. He decides to try to follow them and then Rocksteady comes crashing through the window. Vernon jumps back, not wanting to be caught and is almost hit by a Modulo da trasporto delivering Ninja del clan del piede. Rocksteady shouts at the reinforcements to attack. As Leonardo strips off his disguise, he pushes Vernon back, telling him to make some space. Vernon immediately takes out his camcorder, excited that on his first try he found the Turtles. Raffaello smashes one of the robots and tells Rocksteady he hopes his toys are still under warranty. Michelangelo knocks the cassettes out of Rocksteady’s hands and the mutant complains that he hasn’t even seen his cartoons yet.

April watches the fight and then sees the stranger with the camcorder. She quickly informs Leonardo that the strange guy is filming the fight. Leonardo says he knows what to do and tells his brothers to continue the fight as he grabs one of Rocksteady’s cassettes. Leonardo then backs into Vernon, causing him to drop his camcorder. Vernon yells for him to watch out and Leonardo says he didn’t do it on purpose. As Leonardo picks up the camcorder to return it, he swaps out the cassettes. Rejoining the fight, Leonardo sees his brothers driving Rocksteady into a manhole. Vernon races away from the scene.

Later, April joins Barney and Vernon is the editor’s office. She asks if there is anything new and Barney holds up a cassette, telling her that Vernon just delivered a report. Vernon claims that it’s the biggest journalistic coup of the year. He brags that it was a game for the best reporter on Canale 6. Barney tells them that’s enough chatter and it’s time to watch the tape. They enter the control room and Barney soon finds that the cassette contains a cartoon. Barney is less than please and Vernon claims that someone must have switched the cassette. In an aside, April congratulates Leonardo and then says how poor Rocksteady will feel at not being able to watch his cartoons anymore.
