Quinquies is the first chapter of the light novel Tokyo Ghoul:re: quest.

This story takes place before :re officially begins. Akira Mado lets Haise know that the quinx will be investigated by the CCG due to low success rates, meaning Saiko will have to work on a day a new game comes out. Unsatisfied, she tries to run away in the middle of the night to get out of working and play the new game, but the rest of the quinx squad track her down and try to bring her back home. During the confrontation, they activate their kagune and fight eachother, scaring humans around them. A woman, thinking they are ghouls, exposes herself as a ghoul to try to calm them down, not realizing they are ghoul investigators. They depose of her and Saiko collapses from exhaustion. When she wakes up, the squad explains to her that the investigation was called off due to them capturing a ghoul in circumstances they wouldn't have a quinque with them, and they bought the game she wanted to play to thank her.
