Louisa Pierce is a main character in The Next Karate Kid. She is portrayed by Constance Towers.
Louisa is the grandmother of Julie Pierce and the widow of Lieutenant Jack Pierce.
Biography[]
Louisa is the widow of Lieutenant Jack Pierce, Mr. Miyagi's commanding officer of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during WWII. Miyagi travels to Massachusetts to participate in a ceremony honoring the Nisei soldiers of the Second World War. After the ceremony at Louisa's home, they catch up on old times and war stories.

Miyagi is introduced to Pierce's granddaughter, Julie, a teenage girl struggling with anger issues due to her parents' death in a car accident. Her behavior has led to friction between Julie and her grandmother, along with her fellow students. Miyagi invites Louisa to stay at his house in Los Angeles to enjoy peace and quiet tending his garden while he stays in Boston as Julie's caretaker.
