In his first appearance, he discussed Philosophy with Scruffy and accidentally locked Fry in Springfield Elementary. Later, in Simpsorama, when the Planet Express Crew and Simpson family were trying to dig up the Time Capsule Groundskeeper Willie tried to stop them as he had already carved his name there. He then gestured towards a carving saying "Angry Janitor", although he is usualy known as Groundskeeper Willie and his real name is William McDougal.
