- "Today we celebrate the brave men and women that live and breathe their districts. Today we are one Panem."
- —President Coriolanus Snow introducing the District Heroes
Fibre Bissette is a factory worker from District 3 who was selected to become a District Hero.[1]
Biography[]
After the District 3 mainframe shorted out, Fibre quickly repaired it when she only 9 years old. She was chosen to become a District Hero after she proved her fearlessness in the face of any challenge.[1]
Physical description[]
Fibre has very short light brown hair and blue eyes. In her District Hero portrait, she wears a white full body suit, a spiky ball (which may be an earpiece or earring) and a clear helmet. She is also shown holding a clipboard with technological diagrams attached.[1]
Etymology[]
Fibre's name most likely refers to thread-like structures used in certain electronics, such as the fiber-optic cable. Her surname, Bissette, could either be an alternate spelling of the Irish Bissett, or a form of the French Canadian surname Bessette.
Trivia[]
- On June 19th, 2014, Capitol Couture released seven portraits of District Heroes as advertisements for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. These were original characters, independent from the books or films, serving as pro-Capitol propaganda for each of their respective districts.[2]
- If her surname is French, she would be the second character from District 3 to have a French surname. The first is Beetee Latier.[3]
