Character Information
|
The troll is a single-appearance character in The Amazing World of Gumball. His first and only appearance was in "The Sorcerer."
Appearance
The troll is a lilac, ogre-like creature. He dons a golden cape and shelters his wrists in golden bands. His eyes are an opaque yellow and his mouth contains only two teeth; his nose is quite gargantuan relative to the rest of Elmore's denizens.
Personality
Since the troll is an allegory for an internet troll, his personality consists of characteristics typical of an inflammatory web dweller. The troll takes pleasure in angering people and spends his days spewing lies for the sake of getting a reaction, and then eating the people they anger. However, as is typical of most web flamers, the troll is very hypocritical, not being able to withstand irritation himself, as evidenced by his interaction with Gumball. Not only did the troll become aggravated by Gumball's obnoxious questions, but he also lost his power from listening to them.

Trivia
- The troll is the eighteenth character to die onscreen in the show, with the first seventeen being Anton (who is revived), four of the creatures, Jealousy, the virus, Ant-One, the Anton clones, Zach, Mr. Chanax, the purple squirrel, Darwin (who is revived), Vladus Lokowitchki, Gargaroth, Anais (who is revived), and the Game Child.
- The troll resembles the Jötunn from the mockumentary Trollhunter.
- The troll hiding under a bridge to "ambush its prey" is a reference to the Norwegian fairy tale "Three Billy Goats Gruff." In the tale, three goats have to cross over a bridge, under which lives a troll that eats anyone that tries to cross the bridge.
