The third Crimson Countess is a minor antagonist of the superhero-drama comic series The Boys. A member of Payback, she was in a romantic relationship with Mind-Droid.

History[]

The official tale about the Crimson Countess, endorsed by Vought-American and their subsidiary Victory Comics, portrays her as a heroic figure who valiantly fought during World War II and later reemerged in the modern era to combat contemporary evils. However, the truth is that the original Crimson Countess perished during her first mission in issue #53 due to a German airstrike. Since then, other women with similar powers and appearances have been chosen to assume the same character. The current Crimson Countess is the third superheroine to bear this codename.

Officially, she was in a stable romantic relation with her teammate Mind-Droid, but again the truth was different: she slept around a lot, either with other Supes, most notably her teammate Stormfront, or with high ranking people in Vought-American, in the effort of earning a slot in The Seven.

The Crimson Countess accepted a lot of humiliations and compromises in her constant shots at career advancements, and during a Herogasm she even let Vic the Veep, the new politician endorsed by V-A, shamelessly fondle her breasts to arouse himself. Finally, V-A offered Payback as a whole the chance to join The Seven, something that actually each one of them had tried sooner or later: a group of subversive individuals, known only as The Boys, was causing a lot of trouble to The Seven and to the company in general, and they needed to be dealt with in a definitive way. After Stormfront sent one of them, The Female, to the hospital, the team organized an ambush for the others: as soon as they showed up at their friend’s bedside, they attacked, without much care for the surroundings.

The Crimson Countess first tried to fry Hughie, but he managed to avoid her blasts. As she was about to finish her target, she was bitten in her arm by Terror, who had escaped in the cellar after being sent flying against a wall. As she reached the dog, she was about to melt him with an energy blast, but the dog’s master, Billy Butcher, appeared right behind her: using his own belt, he started strangling her, until he broke her neck, leaving her for the others to find.

Known powers[]

  • Flight (Tentative): While the Crimson Countess is never depicted flying in the storyline, several magazine covers—both for the comic series and in-universe material—illustrate her in flight.
  • Heat generation: The Crimson Countess has the ability to emit microwaves from her hands, resulting in heat blasts hot enough to melt steel.
