Yamza 「ヤムザ, yamuza」 was a formidable Majin renowned for his exceptional swordsmanship skills. He held the esteemed position of Clayman's Army Commander-In-Chief and served as the Middle Finger among Clayman's Five Fingers, an elite group of trusted lieutenants. Yamza's fame predominantly rested on his mastery of ice-based magic and his extensive use of a Unique-Grade Ice Blade, a weapon bestowed upon him by Clayman himself.
Appearance[]
TBA
Personality[]
Yamza was an ambitious person who once held unwavering loyalty to Clayman. Initially motivated and willing to serve, he gained favor from his master, which led him to imitate Clayman's vociferous character. His aggressive and dangerous demeanor often clouded his judgment, making it challenging for him to view situations objectively. Over time, his ambitions waned, and he lost faith in his master, becoming a shadow of his former self.
Despite his initial loyalty, Yamza's character took a darker turn as he grew more cunning and opportunistic. He learned to utilize dirty tricks and amoral tactics, showing a willingness to provoke others for his own gain. While not inherently rude or brutal by nature, his pursuit of power drove him to adopt such qualities.
However, as he lost faith in Clayman, Yamza's loyalty eroded, and he became disloyal to his master. His desire for self-preservation led him to plan abandoning Clayman's army during a critical battle, seeking shelter and protection by working for another Demon Lord. Despite his negative traits, he possesses skills in assessing threats, making him valuable in strategic planning.
Background[]
Yamza was an ambitious majin that caught the attention of Demon Lord Clayman, due to his unwavering motivation and deep desire to serve him. Unlike the other members of Clayman's Five Fingers, Yamza willingly chose to join Clayman's ranks as a loyal subordinate. His voluntary allegiance, unmarred by any heart-stealing coercion, earned him special favor from Clayman, who trusted and treated him better than the other fingers.
In his pursuit to become one of the most valuable individuals in Clayman's forces, Yamza started emulating his master's iconic vociferous character. He developed an aggressive and dangerous side that made it difficult for him to view information objectively and rationally. Yamza was not inherently rude or brutal, but he learned to employ Clayman's tactics, including dirty tricks and amoral strategies such as gossiping and cheating during duels.
As time went on, Yamza's character took a darker turn. His once strong ambitions dwindled, and his faith in Clayman began to fade, transforming him into a "сrooked mirror" of his former self. Despite receiving his favorite Ice Blade, he neglected personal swordsmanship training in favor of relying heavily on the sword's magic abilities.
Trivia[]
- His position as the Middle Finger was quite appropriate. Said finger is used to "flip the bird" as a rude gesture; Yamza himself is rude.
- In Clayman's Revenge - spin-off manga of main series, we can observe Yamza's true and caring nature in comparison with his dangerous and aggressive role, that he tries to imitate in order to show Clayman his capabilities and powers. Clayman sees Yamza's motivation and potential, but unlike in his previous lives, Clayman is not gonna let him get loose and replicate his bad qualities and traits referencing himself in his young years, when at this time Clayman's master - "Curse Lord" Kazalim warned to not imitate his bad qualities
- Yamza resembles a reflection of Clayman's character growth or degradation as we seen in original timeline where Clayman was under Tatsuya Kondou's brainwashing - Yamza was an arrogant scumbag, while in Clayman's Revenge where Clayman tries to avoid his mistakes and constantly improves and cares about his subordinates, Yamza also has begun to train and improve his swordsmanship skills and personality growth can be also seen.
