The Octagram Soars Arc[]
After failing to infiltrate the Western Saints Church, Laplace returns to report about the encounter with Roy Valentin to a mysterious man and a female Elf, revealed to be the former Demon Lord Kazalim, having been successfully resurrected in the female Homunculus Elf body. After hearing Laplace's story, Kazalim, having now taken the identity of Kagali deduces that Laplace encountered Demon Lord Valentin and reveals of how he and the Bloody Lord often battled, during his prime, even stating she lived through three of the Great Tenma Wars that occured every five-hundred years while explaining that their battles were the reason why the custom of calling a Walpurgis Banquet began. After discussing with the mysterious man, Kagali theorizes that Demon Lord Valentin could be the Holy Emperor himself.
When Laplace asks the man and Kagali about Clayman's whereabouts, they reveal that their plans failed, in particular about Clayman's Awakening into a True Demon Lord using the Souls of the fallen soldiers. Kagali tells that apart from their strategy to use Farmus's soldiers, they had also planned to use Milim to kill the humans residing within Eurazania in order to allow herself and Clayman both to Awaken into a True Demon Lord, though the plan failed due to Milim declaring war on Carrion and granting him time to prepare. Kagali and the man tell Laplace about their plan to allow Farmus kingdom to invade Tempest and how they were planning to negotiate with the victors. However, after recieving word from Clayman, they learn that there were no corpses left, with the Curse Lord believing the corpses to be used in summoning a powerful monster as well as how there were no Souls left to harvest. Laplace thought Rimuru used the Souls to Awaken as a True Demon Lord, though Kagali dismissed the claim, stating that it was not possible for him to be a Demon Lord Seed. The mysterious man tells that not everything was a failure as through the war they were successful in weakening Farmus kingdom.
Kagali, upon being asked by Laplace about Clayman's whereabouts tells that he was currently awaiting further orders and was told not to do anything till then, stating that the Eastern Empire was already preparing to invade the West, and all they had to do was to avoid conflict with the Monster Nation. The mysterious man believes that with Farmus Kingdom defeated, the Western Saints Church will take action against the Jura Tempest Federation, though he is confused as to how they could lure Demon Lord Valentin away from the Church to allow Laplace to infiltrate it easily. When Laplace suggests convening the Walpurgis Banquet through Clayman, supported by Milim and Frey, Kagali and the man are pleased to hear this and decide to try to lure out Hinata as well, while asking the Wonder Pierrot to infiltrate the Church once more. To help Clayman, she gave him a neckless used to mind control Millim into helping him, but it is later revealed that the neckless had no effect on her and that Millim was pretending all along to fool them.
Conflict Between Saints and Monsters Arc[]
When Laplace returned from his infiltration mission after killing Roy Valentin, he reveals to the mysterious man, Kagali and the others that Clayman was killed in the Walpurgis Banquet, with Footman accusing Laplace of lying. However, they knew the Wonder Pierrot was not joking and that their friend had indeed died, with Kagali stating that she lost her connection with him the previous night and that she does not want to accept his death. The mysterious man laments, stating that it was his fault and that he should have planned much more cautiously. When Laplace begins to insult Clayman, stating he was too stupid for his own good, Footman is enraged at this, but Kagali calms him down. After everyone regained their composure, they began discussing what to do next. Kagali reveals that Clayman's castle fell during a single evening at the hands of a small force sent by Rimuru. This was the final straw that made them realize that for now they couldn't do anything. When the man reveals that there is a way through which they can take revenge from Rimuru for Clayman's death, a confused Kagali asks about his plan. They all agree to stay low for a while.
Territory Seizure Arc[]
After receiving a report from Damrada about his meeting with Granbell Rosso and the rest of the Five Great Elders of the Rosso family, the mysterious man is approached by Kagali, who asks him as to why he would dismantle the Orthrus slave market. The man states that it was better to dismantle it to their advantage while they had the chance, especially due to Rimuru ruling over the entire Great Forest of Jura. Kagali quickly realizes that the man wanted to protect Cerberus' important assets and thus dismantled the slave market. Kazalim later requests the man to call her as Kagali, to which he is surprised and asks whether she intends to call herself so. Kagali states that with Clayman dead, it was time for them to step up and says that until she takes her vengeance on Leon Cromwell, she intends to put the name of Demon Lord Kazalim on ice. The man later grinned alongside her, ordering the former Demon Lord to begin their plans.
Opening of the Monster City Arc[]
Kagali is introduced to Rimuru by Yuuki as the Vice-president of the Free Guild, who explains that she had just returned from mapping the complex at the ancient ruins of Soma. When Rimuru mentions about the discovery of ruins within Clayman's former domain, the woman is eager to explore the ruins. When discussing about the ownership of the territory, Rimuru tells them that Jistav is under Demon Lord Milim's control. Yuuki asks Rimuru whether do they need her permission to explore the ruins, to which Kagali is somewhat dejected, but asks Rimuru whether they can avoid any interference from Milim. Rimuru replies that it would seem impossible since she would be certainly interested in joining the exploration, making the secretary hesitate a bit, to which he states that they did plan to explore the ruins beneath Clayman's castle so he decides to pay her through the Free Guild to begin the exploration. Kagali states that she is willing to accept Rimuru's offer as long as she is not worried about expenses and if he could negotiate with Milim. After discussing, she begins to make preparations for the exploration while taking over the Guild's operations during Yuuki's absence.
The Majin Behind the Scenes Arc[]
Kagali, along with Yuuki and the Moderate Harlequin Alliance discuss about Rimuru's increasing power, with Yuuki believing they need to reconsider their plans. Yuuki believes they should not get on Rimuru's bad side if possible. Kagali suggests retaining a close relationship with him, although Yuuki states that the plan is still the same, except it is far more harder now. Laplace asks the reason for the sudden change in plans, with him stating if they stay low, they wouldn't be caught, though Yuuki believes Rimuru is starting to suspect him. The Wonder Pierrot asks whether did he do something to cause suspicion, but the rest of his companions disagree. Kagali however believed Rimuru was a formidable foe and that he was cautious indeed, and was surprised to learn he was suspecting them, though she quickly points out that sooner or later Rimuru would've known about them. Kagali asks Yuuki about their plans, to which the boy replies that they stay low as before, and the Jesters agree. After assigning the Jesters the job of transporting failed Otherworlders to Leon Cromwell, Yuuki and Kagali realize his true goal. As Kagali warned them to be careful while they were leaving, she asks Yuuki about the exploration of the ruins of Amrita beneath Clayman's castle, hoping to lure Rimuru into a trap. Although Yuuki was worried due to Milim accompanying Rimuru, Kagali assures she can activate the defense system without being suspected. Yuuki asks her to be careful not to divulge any information that could end up revealing herself while he goes to contact Damrada to expand their bases in the East as a contingency plan while the Jesters meet up with Misha.
Having already activated the defense system of Amrita, Kagali returns to the Free Guild headquarters and has her team of explorers assembled at the entrance while Rimuru arrives with Milim, Shion, Ranga and Gobta and prepares transportation efforts to Jistav, but is cut short as Rimuru takes them to the outskirts of Ingracia and prepares a Portal with Spatial Domination to Jistav, as she and her team arrive, stunned and amazed. The elder of the dark elf tribe leads them to the entrance of the ruins of Amrita. As the elder explains about the ruins and their entrance, they arrive at the second level of the ruins and the gate which was guarded by a spell. After successfully opening the gate and teaching the explorers about the method used to open it, they decided to call it a day and begin the exploration officially tomorrow.
Kagali successfully unseals the gate and the explorers along with Rimuru and Milim walk through a narrow passageway with murals. By noon, Rimuru gives bento (lunch boxes) for everyone and stops them from lighting a fire. Kagali is pleased by this effort, although sounding a bit annoyed. When Rimuru opens a Portal outside the ruins to allow everyone to use restroom breaks if necessary, the explorers look on baffled, but Kagali agrees to this due to the ruins being insulted in the process. As Rimuru provides the team with spells through which they could map the ruins, Kagali reminds them that they cannot detect traps through the spells.
After reaching the third gate, which was the entrance of the ruins, and stopping for a break, Milim, Gobta and Ranga arrive with a lot of Unique-grade gear along with few of the explorers by defeating a golem, with Kagali realizing that the weapons must have been evolved while the golems were on standby for years. As they decide to continue explore further, tremors begin to form, causing panic amongst the team, though Kagali immediately calms them down by scolding them. Another shockwave is created due to a local energy reaction, and the defense system of the ruins is activated due to a group of invaders led by Mariabell Rosso, who unseals the Chaos Dragon and controls it using her Unique Skill which heads towards the explorers. Milim immediately leaves to battle with her former friend. Kagali is surprised to see the Chaos Dragon. As she confusingly asks as to who would attack a Demon Lord and even unseal the Chaos Dragon, Rimuru apologizes to them for involving them here, but Kagali says it is reassuring to have Rimuru during this time with them.
When Kagali asks whether Rimuru has many enemies because he is a Demon Lord, the Demon Slime replies that it was possible, but he never wanted any of them, explaining about the Kingdom of Farmus' invasion and Demon Lord Clayman's schemes along with Hinata Sakaguchi confronting him. As Kagali questions him about respecting their enemies' perspective and establishing good relationships, before he could answer, Mariabell arrives along with Gai and a mind-controlled Yuuki, shocking Kagali and believing he betrayed them, enraging her. As the battle continues, Yuuki wounds Shion severely, by gaining power through Mariabell.
Kagali along with her team took care of Shion in the meantime. However, as soon as Rimuru defeats Yuuki and realizes he cannot get rid of Mariabell's influence over him, he decides to mortally wound him to remove the influence, but Kagali intervenes and begs Rimuru to spare Yuuki. When Rimuru points out that he was controlled by Mariabell, Kagali holds on to him tightly, stating he has a firm mental will and that he cannot be controlled. As she and her team stay by Yuuki's side, the young man successfully breaks free of Mariabell's control. Afterwards, Yuuki, successfully healed by Kagali decides to stop her. Kagali believes Mariabell wants to blow up the ruins by overloading the magical engine device that powered the ruins and requests Rimuru to allow them to chase Mariabell before she ends up overloading it, to which he agrees.
When Mariabell arrives at the centre of the crypt, she is astonished to see there was no such device Yuuki mentioned and that most valuables were missing, only for the young man to arrive with Kagali by his side. As Kagali and Yuuki chat happily, Mariabell realizes she was decieved by him but is confused by how Yuuki broke free of her control and asks him how he overcame Greed, to which Yuuki reveals that his ambition was far more stronger and thus he successfully broke free of her control. He kills her and obtains her Skill for himself.
After he and Kagali return, the former Demon Lord states that he could have told her earlier about his plan, but Yuuki states that it was not possible and that thanks to the method he employed, Mariabell was caught in his trap, though Kagali complains it was awfully tiring for her to keep her subordinates away. Yuuki reveals that he successfully managed to steal Mariabell's 'Greed' Skill for himself, though Kagali points out that normal people cannot steal other people's skill. Yuuki in turn reveals that the Skill itself chose him, but states that he cannot win against Rimuru yet. Kagali agrees, stating that Demon Lord Rimuru was indeed beyond common sense. Yuuki accepts, and points out that they can now put the blame on Mariabell for their deeds but they still have to stay low nonetheless. Kagali states that she had a lot of complaints, particularly towards the crypt's destruction, but she has no other choice but to accept it. She was however, unconvinced with the lie Yuuki fabricated, when in actuality he had detonated a pre-placed magic bomb but lied to Rimuru, stating that the explosion was smaller because the residual energy within the reactor was low, and even made sure to scatter scraps of the actual engine reactor.
Although displeased by the tomb's destruction, which Yuuki points out she was about to abandon it anyway, Kagali denies by stating it was like her second home. Yuuki agrees, but states that thanks to these events they were greatly profited and had their name cleared, as well as learning that Mariabell's 'Blood Shadows' were capable of using Holy Magic. After discussing, they realize that Granbell was one of the Seven Luminaries. While discussing about Mariabell's reckless actions, they realize there was someone capable of dealing with Veldora and and Demon Lord Milim if she ever won. After theorizing, they realize that the God of the Western Saints Church, Luminous was in fact the true Demon Lord Valentine.
Kagali and Yuuki realize they need to design a new strategy, however the young man decides to temporarily move their base of operations to the East. Kagali praises Yuuki's thinking, as he states he promised he'd rule the world, with her telling Clayman would be happy about it, and that she is looking forward to it. As Yuuki asks Kagali to assist him, she asks him the same, while telling him not to betray them now, to which he agrees and states that he will rule the world and everyone will be happy in it.
