Appearance[]

Footman has the appearance of a massive and burly man wearing the outfit of a harlequin and a mask that covers his entire face. The mask features a large nose, a blue stripe, and a mouth, with the expression of the mask tending to move and switch between being enraged and happy at a moment's notice.[1]

Personality[]

Despite his outward appearance and carefree self-deprecating attitude, Footman is an extremely composed and calculating individual.[2] He speaks in an extremely polite and careful manner, choosing the perfect words to say in a given situation. This tendency of his can be seen in full display during combat, where he uses vicious mockery and taunts to make his opponents fall into his hands.

In contrast to his normally calm and calculating demeanor, he is prone to fits of intense emotion and anger when it concerns his friends. He can rather unpredictably flare up into a fit of rage and just as quickly calm down the next moment like it never happened. He cares about his friends more than anything else, even if he jokingly makes fun of them sometimes.

Background[]

Originally an elf during the era of the Super-Sorcery Kingdom, Footman was a soldier with a close connection to the High elf Princess Kagali. When Kagali's father was taken over by the Evil Sorcerer Jahil and outwardly seemed to have gone insane, he was one of the people inside the castle that remained loyal to Kagali after she was turned into the Deathman Kazalim. When a young Milim Nava — enraged at the actions taken against her by Jahil–obliterated the castle in Soma, Footman was one of the individuals resurrected by Kagali alongside Tear and Clayman.

When Kagali saw that the appearances of the three of them weren't scarred by becoming Deathmen while she was cursed to look like a rotting corpse, she became depressed, with the three of them deciding to wear masks to match with hers from that day forward. The four of them were later joined by the newly born Laplace and they regrouped with the elven survivors still loyal to Kagali to create the nation of Jistav, eventually also forming the Moderate Harlequin Alliance.
