Awakening ｢覚醒, kakusei｣ is a term used to refer to the process of becoming a higher form of existence.
Examples include: Developing chosen heroes and demon lords awakening and becoming true chosen heroes and true demon lords, demi-spiritual life-forms awakening and becoming spiritual life-forms, or Spiritual life-forms awakening and becoming divine natures.

Chosen hero egg ｢勇者の卵, yūsha no tamago｣ refers to those who obtain the blessing of an elemental of light or darkness as well as the Elemental Queen. In this case the respective elemental resides inside the body of the individual.
True chosen hero[]
True chosen heroes ｢真なる勇者, shin'naru yūsha｣ or The One who Hatched the Chosen hero egg ｢勇者の卵が孵った者, yūsha no tamago ga kaetta mono｣, are those who have proven themself and hatched their Chosen hero egg, merging with their elemental and became an Awakened Chosen hero.

The Harvest Festival ｢魔王ヘの進化, hābesuto fesutibaru, lit. "Evolution of the Demon King"｣ occurs once all the requirements to become a Demon Lord are met by a Demon lord seed. The World Language will confirm the user's intent to become a Demon Lord and the "Initiation" will start.

Blocked Demon lord seeds refers to individuals who would have met the necessary qualifications to be able to undergo the Harvest Festival and become Demon Lords, but are recognized subordinates to other individuals. This blocks the path to naturally awaken and other measures are needed.
Harvest Festival ritual[]
Raphael developed a method to artificially awaken qualified candidates into beings similar to True demon lords by using Beelzebuth and ten times the amount of souls needed for a Demon lord seed to awaken.

Cultivation[]
Cultivation is a method that requires individuals to grow stronger manually by training ones skills, learning and mastering arts, gathering energy, fighting strong opponents, and building up experience to cultivate their body and Mind, pushing themself to break their own mental barrier to awaken. The primary example of cultivation is a saint, but it works even for majin. The big drawback of awakening through cultivation is that the body doesn't sublimate instantly with the soul; it usually takes a long time for the material body to fully ascend to a Spiritual state.

It is also possible to awaken by forcing a method, like Clayman, who tried to awaken by sacrificing an insufficient amount of Souls resulting in a Pseudo Awakening ｢疑似覚醒, giji kakusei｣.
