Wood was sergeant in the First World War who served in Charnage Hospital in 1917. He informed Lieutenant-Colonel Brook that the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Hex were awake. Brook asked him to spy on Ace, Hex and the Doctor. He thought Hex was a deserter. He strapped Hex to a chair in the "Hate Room" and electrocuted him whilst showing him sounds of women and children screaming. Wood was later murdered by Private Taylor via multiple stab wounds.
