Vaber was a member of the first Thal taskforce sent to Spiridon to defeat the Daleks based there.

Biography[]

Vaber was a hothead who demanded immediate action against the Daleks. He challenged the group's commander, Taron, threatening him with a gun. They were interrupted and Vaber made peace with him. Vaber wanted to attack the Daleks by dropping explosives down a shaft. Taron refused, declaring it too dangerous. This prompted Vaber to brand him a coward and the two fought. They were eventually broken apart.

Later, while the others were at rest, he broke away and decided to take matters into his own hands. He headed for the Dalek base but was captured by Spiridons, who took him to the Daleks. He pretended to comply with their orders before making a break for freedom, only to be exterminated by the Daleks. Ironically, if he had succeeded in his foolhardy attack, he would have ended up awakening the entire Dalek army, instead of destroying them as he had intended. (TV: Planet of the Daleks)
