Worldbuilding[]

Individuals[]

  • The Nurse is a TARDIS, albeit a deactivated one that is unable to travel through time and space.
  • The Oldest is a Time Lord, though their exact identity cannot be identified.
    • Though Bernice, the Nurse and the Liturgy of Death believe the Oldest to be the Master from another universe, further supported by dialogue implications from 312, the Nurse claims it is entirely possible for them to also be the other universe's Doctor.

Relationships[]

  • 312 was the Oldest's 'guard' before the Nurse took them into her care.
  • The Nurse tells Bernice she is not her enemy and never has been, but rather quite the opposite.
  • Starll gives Grizella a bouquet made of grass, claiming that he respects her as an opponent, but it is implied he made the gesture out of more intimate feelings for her.
  • Grizella and Professor Altazar are both distressed when Starll is seemingly slain by the Liturgy, implying they both cared for him on some level.
    • Altazar and Starll previously admitted to having a mutual respect for each other in AUDIO: Rhubarb.

Notes[]

  • Bernice Summerfield previously appeared in another story called 'Sanctuary'. (PROSE: Sanctuary)

Continuity[]

  • According to 312, the phrase 'A little birdie told me' is the not the "kind of thing" that can be said anymore, changing his wording to "A miniature Shansheeth." (TV: Death of the Doctor)
  • Bernice realises the Oldest was responsible for sending her to the cloakroom. (AUDIO: Please Retain Your Ticket For The Cloakroom)
  • Believing them to be the Master, Bernice has no qualms with handing the Oldest over to the Liturgy, knowing what the Master is capable of from personal experience. (PROSE: First Frontier, Happy Endings, et. al)
  • If the Nurse's suggestion that the Oldest could be the other universe's Doctor and not the Master were correct, it would not be the first time an alternate version of the character has been shown to have a darker personality than their main universe's counterpart. (PROSE: I, Alastair)
