Daryl the Diver was a website released on 27 April 2011 to coincide with the immersive experience The Crash of the Elysium, one of two websites created at that time. On the same day, the official website for the experience added a link to Daryl the Diver and North West Historical Society.[1]

As with all of the marketing for the experience, the DWU elements of the website was kept vague to maintain the illusion that the Elysium was actually real;[1] unlike North West Historical Society's indirect mention of a Weeping Angel, Daryl the Diver made no use of any pre-existing DWU concepts, solely relying on providing context for the sinking of the Elysium.
