The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids was, as described by a Retconning Crocodile, a small congregation of sapient androids native to the Prime Universe and based in a permanent pocket dimension called the Cupid Homeworld. (PROSE: Resurrection of the Author [+]Aristide Twain, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2021).) However, although the organisation was indeed largely made up of the mechanical Clockwork Cherubs, others had come to reside on the Homeworld as part of the Crew, including the former Embodiment of Time Lord Thymon. (PROSE: Auteur's Abecedarium [+]Jayce Black, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2020).)

Despite the Collective of the Retconning Crocodiles acknowledging they were "not a faction to be trifled with", one Crocodile believed "most" of the Crew to be "inconsequential fools" and instead hailed their Creator as a genius, with another adding that it was as though the Crew's "story and identity [were] nailed down to the very floor of the Multiverse". (PROSE: Resurrection of the Author [+]Aristide Twain, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2021).)

Structure[]

The Crew was sub-divided into many different Departments, each with their own area of expertise and each led by a Prefect. Examples included the Department of Problem-Solving, the Department of Festivities, the Department of Documentation and the Department of Live Performances.

Pythagoras-858 was the Prefect of the Department of Problem-Solving, with Juliet-178 his second and leadership responsibilities falling to Carter-1277 in the absence of them both. Celebration-665 was a member of Department of Festivities and Thespian-315 belonged to the Department of Live Performances. History[]

The Crew had multiple encounters with the Collective of the Retconning Crocodiles, spanning years. During this time the Crocodiles were unable to uproot or subvert them, their narrative gravity proving too strong. Eventually, they sought out Auteur for assistance in their extermination, finding him in the Sanctum of the Heretic and promising him a lasting resurrection in exchange for his services. This was in the hope that the weight of Auteur's parallel narrative logic would be enough to unseat the Crew, the Sun Builder himself noting "nothing beats the power of a big-name guest star". Auteur penned a cursed abecedarium to fulfil his role in the plan, (PROSE: Resurrection of the Author [+]Aristide Twain, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2021).) with it being materialised into the Cupid Homeworld in December 2020.

The Cupids discovered the mysterious Christmas present and it was quickly opened by Carter-1277, after which the nature of the abecedarium was debated. Although Lord Thymon was suspicous of the book during his expert testimony and warned of its dangers, it was the expert opinion of Celebration-665 which won over the crowd and a dramatic reading was arranged. It soon became clear the book was not an ordinary abecedarium, ending with a warning to the reader for them to burn their history and save themselves from Auteur. At the reading's conclusion Bibliophile-962 seized the book and hurriedly carried it to a restricted area of the Cupid Archives before anyone could do something rash such as attempt to read it again. Meanwhile, Celebration invited everyone over to his place for cakes. (PROSE: Auteur's Abecedarium [+]Jayce Black, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2020).)
