You may wish to consult Alfred for other, similarly-named pages.

Alfred was the Sergeant of Earl Godfrey's men-at-arms at some point during the reign of King Richard I of England.

Alfred and the herbalist Osbert were the two first men to encounter the Krynoid creatures who would soon go on to besiege the castle and nearby village. During the first battles against the "forest demons" and ensuing siege, Alfred directed the men-at-arms as they fought back against the creature as best they could, such as by pouring boiling oil onto it from the battlements. Ultimately, he followed Moses of Tyre's directions by having his men move the catapult from the outer wall, which Moses had predicted the Krynoid would soon successfully bring down, and they instead fired Moses' new concoction at the creature once it made it into the inner courtyard.
