Early life[]

Having received a credential, Jebilu studied at either Winding Circle or its affiliates, or the University of Lightsbridge in Karang. He had formerly spent some time in the court of theYanjingyi emperor Weishu, where he learned about the different forms of miniature trees in order to seem cultured to the other members of the court.

Court stone mage[]

Jebilu was given the position of the head stone mage of the court of the amir in Chammur. Stoneslicer immediately went about eliminating his competition and driving them away from the city. He bullied others until he was the only known, powerful stone mage, and thus could gain favor and employment from the wealthy people of the city.

In 1039 KF, Briar Moss came to the palace in order to ask Stoneslicer to teach Evumeimei Dingzai, a young stone mage whom Briar had discovered on the streets of Chammur. He refused at teaching a girl with no family, and made fun of Evvy for being lower class. He did give Briar a few coins, because he claimed he wasn't heartless, much to Briar's anger.

Not long after, Dedicate Rosethorn visited Stoneslicer at the palace. Being part of the Initiate Council at Winding Circle, as well as a member of the Council at Lightsbridge, Rosethorn was able to pull rank and force Stoneslicer to comply with the laws of teaching new mages. Rosethorn frightened him enough and she bullied him into giving Evvy a chance.

Since Evvy was afraid of the palace, Stoneslicer met her in front of Briar's vending table for his shakkans. He treated her like dirt, but still tested her. He was taken aback and nervous when he realized that she was magically stronger than him, having shattered one of his diamonds, which he claimed was impossible when she asked. Evvy refused to be taught by him, calling him a zernamus - a leech that sucks up to the rich. He left in a huff, saying he was prepared to do his duty as a mage but was insulted and refused.

When Briar went to the home of Lady Zenadia, he discovered that the lady had invited Jebilu Stoneslicer in order to convince Briar that Evvy should be taught by a true stone mage. Stoneslicer was resigned to this, but Briar refused again.

Physical description[]

Stoneslicer is pudgy and overweight.

Personality and traits[]

He is greedy and manipulative, and does not care for the livelihoods of anyone he considers beneath him. He managed to drive the other stone mages out of Chammur, not caring about whether or not they had enough work, but only cared for himself. The only people he concerns himself with are rich people, like the amir and Lady Zenadia.
