Erdogun fer Baigh (pronounced UHR-doe-gun fair bye) is an Emelanese nobleman who holds the rank of Baron. He is in the service of Vedris IV, the Duke of Emelan, and is the Duke's chief adviser and Lord Seneschal.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Erdogun fer Baigh was born a member of the nobility. At some point he inherited the title of Baron and became a loyal member of the Duke's household. He held the very august position, Lord Seneschal, before the events of 1035 KF.
The Duke's heart attack[]
In 1039 KF, the Duke suffered a near fatal heart attack, which forced the Duke's great-niece, Sandrilene fa Toren to move to Duke's Citadel to help care for him. The Baron and Sandry at first didn't get along, as she thought him too stuffy, but they soon gained quite a friendship and alliance in their mutual devotion to Duke Vedris.
Serial killings[]
In the same year, there were a series of murders targeted against a prominent merchant house of Summersea, the Rokats. The murderers displayed the severed heads of male members of the family in noticeable places to make a statement. Qasam Rokat tipped off the Duke and Baron Erdogun that the murderers were either members of or paid by the Dihanur family, which was a rival merchant clan that the Rokat family developed a blood feud with. The Duke and Baron baited Qasam Rokat into giving more information than what he was comfortable with sharing, in order to come to a more informed view of the dynamic and the case. They learned that members of the Rokat family killed one of the Dihanur patriarchs in a similar fashion by severing the head and displaying it on a fountain, thus sparking the blood feud.
Life after[]
Sandry took up permanent residence at Duke's Citadel, although by then she and Erdogun got along very well. As the years went on, Sandry was put in charge of quite a few things at the Citadel, and for some cases her signature was as good as the Duke's or Erdogun's.
Baron Erdogun gave Sandry a birthday present on her eighteenth birthday. He also accidentally told Sandry that Berenene dor Ocmore, the Empress of Namorn, was threatening Vedris with monetary repercussions on Emelan if he did not convince Sandry to visit her Namornese relatives and lands.[1]
Personality & traits[]
Baron Erdogun is seen as stuffy and a bit too focused on the more arrogant parts of nobility. He means well, however. Sandry, at first, dislikes him, but they soon grow a very strong friendship as she helps out at Duke's Citadel.
