The Doi (pronounced doy) are tribespeople who live in the Eastern Lands, near the Roof of the World. They are quiet people. Some of the Doi have wild magic, in which they can tell fortunes by reading palms. In Lioness Rampant, Alanna and her company meet a Doi tribe and an old woman tells them their future. During this meeting it is revealed that Liam Ironarm had already met members of the Doi before and already knew his future. The fortune telling she received also decided Alanna to meet "Old Chitral" even though a snowstorm still raged outside.
