Marsa'cnnundo'lon

Marsa'cnnundo'lon, commonly known as and called Marsa, was a Chiss female in service of Imperial Intelligence during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Born with a mind faster and more knowledgable than a computer, Marsa went on to become a Watcher Agent in Imperial Intelligence, tasked with managing information and guiding the field agents, known as Cipher Agents, through their missions.

Marsa soon became disllusioned with the Empire following years of anti-Chiss bullying and the ruthless means of control put forward by the Sith, and secretly began to go against her superiors, until she eventually attempted a defection in 7 ATC, going missing.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Childhood[]

Born in a Chiss-dominated slum in the far edge of Kaas City, the major hub of Dromund Kaas (the Empire's capital), Marsa found herself working as a servant for multiple businessmen, military statesmen and even one or two Sith-affiliated figures, including a short time working as a maid for Darth Thanaton when she was just seven. During this time, Marsa discovered that her mind ran at unprecedented rates, possessing incredible reflexes and working out complex calculations in nanoseconds.

Marsa eventually found her way towards Imperial Intelligence, which she managed to join due to her impressive brain. Hoping she could escape poverty and the anti-alien sentiment of usual Imperial life, Marsa learned as a Cadet that many other Cadets still bullied her, and that was still looked down on. Nonetheless, she passed graduation, becoming an official Intelligence Recruit, in the class known as Eta-Five.

Intelligence Recruit[]

Marsa became friends with a human girl at the cadet graduation ceremony called Ciniriel, who intervened when three Cadets threatened to attack Marsa in public because of her being a Chiss. Ciniriel soon became a guardian for Marsa, protecting her from the endless threats from both her classmates and occasionally her superiors.

Marsa's early experiences as a recruit were stressful. While she had a brilliant mind, she was not as athletic or combat-efficient as other recruits, and so failed multiple phsyical exercises, while exceeding in mental assessments. Marsa soon became insecure about whether she could get through training, and it was often up to Ciniriel to comfort her. Unbeknownst to Ciniriel, Marsa was developing feelings for her fellow recruit. Romantic feelings.

Survival Course[]

The first major course in Intelligence recruitment was the survival course, which involved an agent surviving in the wilderness of Taris, a ruined planet in Imperial territory, for a whole week without external aid. Marsa was at first terrified at the prospect, until the rules were bent by command. Not only would each Agent work with another in a pair, but Marsa eventually ended up being paired with Ciniriel, who was physically the best recruit in the class.

Dumped in the wilderness with some basic supplies, the pair soon found an enormous, building-high tree, where they made a canopy-like home. As they settled for the night, Marsa accidentally revealed that she had feelingd for Ciniriel, quickly stating that it was against Intelligence rules to have a relationship of that kind with another recruit or Agent. However, Ciniriel then revealed that she felt the same, before the two shared a kiss, their love now open to each other. They promised to keep it secret, and Marsa thanked Ciniriel for sticking by her.

For the next six days, the duo managed to find food and water sources, and even fought off a wild mynock, which managed to scratch Marsa's arm. The Chiss was able to perform mini-surgery on herself with Ciniriel's aid, stopping her from getting rabies. Unsurprisingly, the duo were placed top of their class following the course.

Combat Course[]

The next course was the combat course, which was (in this case) a mission to neutralize multiple camps of Sand People on Tatooine who were threatening Imperial outposts. To Marsa's dismay, she was not teamed with Ciniriel this time, though command again altered the course, making it so that the teams were pairs again, and while one person would launch the attack (like a Cipher Agent), the other would guide them through the mission (like a Watcher Agent). Marsa was parternered with the only other Chiss in her class, a seclusive boy named Leeo.

The mission began well, as Leeo was able to infiltrate the camp, though it took a bad turn when the Tuskens found the recruit and captured him. Rushing to the camp in a speeder, Marsa managed to sneak Leeo out, though killed a Tusken on the way out. Haunted afterwards by the killing, Marsa became a mental wreck for many months after. Leeo thanked Marsa for what she did, and the two shared a distant bond for the rest of their time as recruits.

Investigative Course[]

The last course for the recruits was the investigate course. Sent to Dantooine after reports of a Jedi sighting, the recruits were sent to find clues on the incident. Due to there being no danger involved, each recruit was alone in their task. However, to the dismay of Eta-Five's supervisor, Watcher Seven, no traces were found, and soon the recruits were given a seperate task by Seven: discovering who sent them to Dantooine.

It was Marsa who found out. Discovering a crashed pirate ship and it's surviving crew in some farmland, Marsa traced the beacon the Jedi had apparently placed to inside the ship, a lure for Jedi to come to Dantooine so they could take them hostage. Instead, Darth Baras, a feared Sith Lord, arrived on behalf of Imperial Intelligence, slaughtering the pirates and giving Marsa another mental scar.

After the course, Eta-Five graduated. In a back room at the ceremony, Marsa and Ciniriel shared a kiss, which was seen by Leeo. However, as gratitude for Marsa saving his life, and because he understood the bigotry of the Empire, he kept their relationship a secret.

Imperial service[]

Watcher Agent[]

Marsa soon became a Watcher Agent - as she hoped - codenamed 'Watcher Eight'. First assigned to oversee Imperial assets on Nar Shaddaa, it was Marsa who discovered the Blue Oracle, a paramilitary group formed by an AWOL Republic Navy officer, who hoped to fight the Empire across the Outer Rim. Ciniriel herself was sent to capture the group's leader alongside another agent, Watcher Six, while Marsa gave assistance from Dromund Kaas.

After a year of street war between Blue Oracle and the Empire, Ciniriel managed to capture the leader, who was to be brought back to Dromund Kaas. Marsa arrived to oversee the extraction, during which she learned from Ciniriel of a horrific act. When a Rodian gang took control of a portion of Nar Shaddaa, the Empire executed their families, women and children, to demoralize them. When Ciniriel protested, the man in charge, Admiral Meyn, instead saw the massacre as a successful mission, and refused to punish the CO of the slaughter, Colonel Hagra. It was then that Marsa first told Ciniriel of her distaste of the Empire. 

Going against orders[]

When Ciniriel was sent into the Undercity - the brutal lower levels of Kaas City - to investigate a resistance cell (Marsa as her supervisor), she discovered that the Empire's harsh treatment of the Undercity's residents had left thousands starving to death. Ciniriel finally admitted that she too saw the Empire's evil ways, but decided that now was not the time to oppose the Empire. Marsa disagreed.

While Ciniriel tried to help the Undercity against the also-oppressive resistance cell, Marsa began what she called 'espionage sabotage', deleting files and giving misinformation, all under false names. Those she targeted included Intelligence, the Imperial military and even the Sith, and in one instance, she sent records of Sith activities to a Republic informant, though the informant failed to get off-world, killed by a Sith apprentice when he tried to escape Dromund Kaas.

In 7 ATC, Ciniriel was sent to Tatooine to find a stolen Sith holocron, and then to asassinate a Republic-friendly crime lord named Ko'ofo the Hutt. Meanwhile, Marsa went missing, leaving Ciniriel to guess that she had left Dromund Kaas and gone to defect to the Republic. However, on her mission, Ciniriel found herself being followed by a Jedi Knight and a smuggler, later discovered to be her long lost siblings. Ciniriel defected herself after her brothers, Salovan and Vidril Vesal, brought her to Coruscant. Trouble only arose when it was found that Marsa had still not managed to defect, almost a week after her disappearance.

Personality[]

Marsa was, above all, very seclusive. Made shy and timid by her rough childhood and ceaseless, anti-Chiss bullying, she became unsociable, and only confided with Ciniriel out of anyone she knew. However, Marsa was very caring, and looked out for others, even if they weren't the nicest of people. A pacifist and possessing a fear of violence, Marsa was horrified when she killd a Tusken raider on Tatooine, and after learning of the Rodian massacre on Nar Shaddaa, she decided to go against the Empire covertly.

After this, Marsa seemed to change. Becoming stern and determined in her task, she worked constantly to undermine the Empire from within, often arguing with Ciniriel over what she was doing was right or wrong. However, Marsa still retained her shy personality. She also still loved Ciniriel dearly, being thankful after Ciniriel's protection of Marsa from her fellow recruits in Eta-Five.

Physical traits[]

Marsa was a Chiss, and so shared many physical characteristics with other Chiss. Possessing blue skin, bright red eyes and black hair, she also had pale lips and wide eyes. Her hair was long and wavy, often going over her shoulders and down her back, though when on-duty, it was tied up in a more professional manner. Her skin was very smooth and literally spotless, and she spoke with an Imperial accent, though it sounded more gentle than most. She always appeared and sounded youthful, often being mistaken for someone slightly younger.

Marsa wore a black and grey jacket as uniform, with matching black trousers and shoes. She had multiple badges stating her ranks and decorations, and always had a belt on, holding multiple pieces of technology like datapads, memory cards and anything else that she deemed useful. Due to her Watcher status, she possessed no weapons, though did know how to use them.
