Hi all. I’ve gone ahead and done our first auto-approval of GA nominations, per this community consensus discussion. I had originally said to I'm the Chosen One, who said that he would auto-approve one of his nominations despite it having been nominated before that community vote, that we would only be auto-approving nominations that were nominated after the implementation of the new rule. Otherwise we would be implementing it on previous nominations “ex post facto,” which is a Latin term generally used in conjunction with the application of laws meaning “after the fact” (for example, the US Constitution forbids Congress from enforcing laws ex post facto).
That said, we do not actually have any rule here on Star Wars Fanon about that, so what I said to ITCO was me using my personal legalese preference in terms of enforcing that community decision. However, it’s clear that the nominations made prior to the new rule are not being acted on by the Seers (my hands aren’t completely clean, as there’s one that I didn’t review), so I have begun auto-approving nominations under this process regardless of when they were nominated and I will continue to do so for any nomination that meets the auto-approval requirements. The amount of time these are taking is unacceptable.
For any Seers who find that they have objections for articles that were auto-approved, it is your responsibility to clean up those objections, talk to the author to clear them up, or propose it lose its status—the latter of which would just look bad for you. Everyone had enough time to review any auto-approved article.
Please leave any questions, comments, or concerns in the discussion section. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:48, July 24, 2012 (UTC)

Four articles have now been auto-approved, which was every single nomination save for one made a few days ago. Three GAs (Darth Samah, CC-4516, Sara Umbra) and one FA (Yoder Gree) were all promoted to their respective statuses as a result. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:15, July 26, 2012 (UTC)
