Cadi Carrick was a member of the Republic Strategic Investigation Service in the aftermath of the Galactic War. Cadi had a small connection to the Force, and was a member of the SIS's "Sixth Line." Cadi trained extensively in lightsaber combat, though she preferred to use a blaster. Because of her last name, it was often assumed that she was related to the Jedi Battlemaster Jasin.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Born between the Galactic War and Cold War, Cadi grew up in a time of relative peace. Born on Coruscant and raised on Tython at the Jedi Temple, Cadi was used to being around Jedi at almost all times. However, when it was found that she had only marginal Force sensitivity, Cadi's parents decided to train her to use what skills she could, but allow her to choose her own path in life.
Cadi, who loved legends of SIS agents, decided to go into intelligence. After joining the academy and becoming one of the top combat students, Cadi graduated with high honors and was offered a position in SIS by Director Marcus Trant. Cadi eagerly accepted the position. Due to her Force skills, Theron Shan recruited her as a member of the Sixth Line.
Ziost[]
When the Sixth Line was sent to Ziost by Shan, Cadi went with them and was possessed by Vitiate like the others. When Theron called Jasin for help, the Jedi Battlemaster engaged Cadi briefly in combat before knocking her out with the butt of his lightsaber. When Cadi recovered, she briefly regained her senses, but was quickly repossessed by Vitiate, and sent to attack the People's Tower. As she ascended to the top floor, Jasin, Theron, and Lana Beniko fired off an electrical weapon that freed everyone from Vitiate's grasp.
Cadi's body was found by Shan, and he quickly helped her get off-world. Just hours later, Vitiate devoured every living thing on the planet. As a result, Cadi was one of the few survivors of the Ziost conflict, and she returned to Tython along with Master Surro, the Sixth Line leader. Cadi's mind was slowly restored after it was shattered by the former Sith Emperor.
Joining the Alliance[]
Despite the conflict with Zakuul, SIS was mostly committed to continuing the fight against the Empire, which Cadi disliked. Cadi was usually sent on missions where combat was expected, or when her Force skills could be put to special use. On Coruscant, Cadi was given a mission of tracking down a suspected Sith remnant spy. To accomplish this, Cadi disguised herself as a stripper, while using her Force senses to scan the audience. She confirmed the location of the Sith and was about to leave when a woman approached her, degrading her performance. The woman informed her that her name was Rya'a Quinn of the Galactic Investigation Agency. Cadi brusquely dismissed herself to track down the Sith.
Eventually, Cadi was again approached by Theron Shan, who offered her a position in an Alliance against the Eternal Empire of Zakuul. She accepted, and was put in a unit with a former Imperial agent, Ta'er, and a bounty hunter, Saranna. The three of them struck against Zakuul from within, often undercover.
Their first assignment together was to get a datadisc out of the Zakuul Intelligence Tower. To do so, they planned to distract the guards who worked the tower. The guards were on six-month shifts and had no outside contact other than their training holograms. To distract the guards, the three women made their own training holo and switched it with the real one. The fake video was of Cadi, Saranna, and Ta'er in disguises, dressed in skimpy outfits and doing aerobic exercises. The guards, who had not had female contact because of their assignment, were distracted enough by the video that the three were able to sneak in and steal the disc. The guards were all executed for their failure. However, because the three women were heavily made-up in the holo, they could not be identified, and thus all three got away without a trace.
Behind the Scenes[]
Cadi was originally created as a PC in Star Wars: The Old Republic as the daughter of Jasin and Kira. However, when the timeline was shifted with the release of Knights of the Fallen Empire, Cadi became an unrelated SIS Agent. In her live-action appearances, beginning with Spells of the Sirens, Cadi is depicted by actress Sophie Turner.
