• Vacre Torbin takes over leadership of The Gurrcats Gang.
• The Mukhabarat is formed by Justin Rettik.
• Zarkan City, the capital of the Zarkan Kingdom and Empire, suffers from an oubreak of Bacterial Pneumonitis (The "Bloody Coughs"), a Bacterial disease affecting the lungs. The outbreak affects roughly 100,000 of the city's inhabitants, of which 7,296 die. The epidemic soon spreads across the rest of the Zarkan Kingdom, Aeropica and the Colonies of the Aeropican nations, lasting until 42 BBY, and killing millions, most deaths occur in the colonies, the vast majority of which are amongst natives living in the wilderness who have poor access to medical care.
• Ladies Jane Zarkan and Elizabeth Zarkan fall ill with the Bloody Coughs, which affects her for two months. The illness weakens Jane Zarkan's lungs and she suffers from a chronic post-infection cough for the next 4 months, whilst Elizabeth only receives a mild case of the disease. Despite recovering, however, the deactivated Bacteria remain dormant within them. The outbreak also kills Bethany Zarkan, younger sister of Jane and cousin of Elizabeth.
• As a result of the epidemic the stock market and economy weaken, this will directly assist in the subsequent Panic of Year 37 and the end of the "Wonderful Years" period, both which take place in 44 BBY.
• The Red Planet Project settles Mars, establishing the Mars Colony.
• King Daniel IV of the Zarkan Kingdom struggles with a bout of depression following the death of Bethany Zarkan, his youngest daughter, Queen Rowena IX temporarily serves as regent until he recovers.
