Umati (kutoka neno la Kiarabu) ni mkusanyiko mkubwa au idadi kubwa ya watu kwa pamoja, kama katika mkutano, chama au dini fulani[1] [2].

Sosholojia na saikolojia ni kati ya sayansi zinazochunguza hali ya watu waliokusanyika pamoja na wanaoshika msimamo wa pamoja, na jinsi wanavyoweza kuathirika hata kuendeshwa kufanya mambo yasiyotarajiwa, kwa mfano katika maandamano.[3][4] Watafiti wengi wamekabili suala hilo kwa mtazamo hasi, [5] lakini mara nyingine watu walioungana pamoja wanaweza kujenga jamii.[6][5]
