Read before marking for deletion[]
Jigglypuff HAS been confirmed for Brawl along with Ness, proof is this image from the recent trailer update. [1] Don't mark deletion with the assertion that it's fake or not official. The latter, as I mentioned, comes from the trailer. Until Sakurai says otherwise, don't mark for deletion. Remember, speculation is information without a source mostly here. Unlockable?[]
I know that it may be considered unorthodox to rely on Serebii.net; however, Serebii said this on the site: "As you can see, it has Pikachu, it has Pokemon Trainer and two others. They are Lucario & Jigglypuff. Both playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl... How are they unlocked? Well you have to wait and see." Weight Source[]

Gender Controversy[]
Some of you may have noticed Gargomon251 and I have edited back and forth about whether Jigglypuff is a "she" or an "it". Apparently I'm being stereotypical by using Jigglypuff's costumes and feminine appearance in my case. But why can you call "Ukemi" "tech" but I can't call Jigglypuff "she"? It's the most common usage in regards to Jigglypuff, as is "tech". ~Huntercrunch

- Even in the anime many pokemon are referred to in genderless pronouns, even despite the visual gender dimorphism introduced since the DS games. In the case of Smash, much like Pokemon Trainer, the pokemon are not meant to be any particular characters, but just a species representative in general, so they could be any gender, age, etc. Although I generally refer to Lucario and Mewtwo as he due to their "voices", one could argue that, since they speak only by telepathy/etc., it is merely our minds that perceive the voices as masculine. For the record, in the games, Mewtwo has always been genderless.- Gargomon251 21:25, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

No longer first unlockable?[]
In Jigglypuff's trivia section, it is stated that Jigglypuff can no longer be the first charecter to be unlocked. BUT what if you, ever time you fought Ness, and whoever else you can unlock before Jiggy, you lost on porpose, thus not unlocking them? Would you be able to keep losing 340 fights in a row, then unlock Jigglypuff? Yeah, I know it is stupid, but I think somebody should look into this. (Not me)Maxiscool (talk) 16:15, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
That isn't possible, from my experience with the first two games anyway. If you lost a match against an unlockable character, you'd still fight the same character until you defeat it. (Wolf O'Donnell (talk) 17:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC))

Redundant[]
- No projectile or way to reflect projectiles
- Short Range gives it a hard time dealing with opponents with a long range.

Grave spelling and error mistakes, as well as general inconsistency[]
I've noticed a lot of the content on this page suffers from some deplorable spelling and grammar, so much so that I oftentimes have great difficulty ascertaining the true meaning of the passage. Jigglypuff moreso than any other. I just cleaned up the first paragraph, and would have cleaned up more, however the bad grammar is so perverse and overwhelming, I would need to seriously commit myself to the task of correcting all of it throughout the page (nevermind the other character's pages). Considering that the grammar can become so attrocious in numerous character descriptions that it becomes difficult for the lay person to understand what is even being said, I would happily employ my services in making things more reader-friendly, provided admins and readers feel this would be beneficial, and would occasionally help me in clarifying things that are worded so poorly, I may be somewhat incapable of translating the passages/ sentences on my own. Furthermore, wanted to mention, although I see it's been mentioned previously, that this page regrettably suffers some major inconsistencies, not only from character to character, but sometimes multiple and various inconsistencies within one character page. An easy example would be the Ice Climbers. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty among various contributors about how to individually identify them, sometimes it's a "him/her/them", sometimes a description more vague and even perhaps slightly erroneous...the best and most practical, in my opinion, being the "leader/ partner"distinction. Point I'm trying to make: I realize such inconsistencies are bound to become a problem for a page that can be edited by the public, however, like the grammar issues, the inconsistencies can oftentimes make it rather difficult to discern what's actually being said, thereby resulting in a less reader-friendly website, which kind of sucks, being as the character descriptions are among the most comprehensive on the internet, and could be of great use to less experienced Smashers looking to up there game in the interest of potential future competitive play. Correcting the inconsistencies page-wide would be a SERIOUS undertaking, and would likely require more time than I can personally afford, otherwise I'd volunteer myself for that project as well. However, if administration should desire to employ my assistance in correcting spelling/grammar issues, and if a volunteer cannot be found to remedy the inconsistencies issue, I may be willing to commit myself to the task, provided admins and contributors approve the notion by some kind of majority. Anyway, the more responses you guys can give me, the better, so let me know what you think about the aforementioned propositions, namely the grammar project.
